Your mother sold her firstborn to a witch in exchange for beauty and your father sold his firstborn to a fairy for wealth. Today you are born.

“As a chemical engineering Ph.D. student at the University of Pittsburgh who uses a power wheelchair, I figured it wouldn’t be long before I met one of these bots in a frustrating face-off on a narrow sidewalk. What I didn’t realize was how dangerous, and dehumanizing, that scenario might be.
The robot was sitting motionless on the curb cut on the other side of Forbes Avenue. It wasn’t crossing with the rest of the pedestrians, and when I reached the curb, it didn’t move as the walk signal was ending. I found myself sitting in the street as the traffic light turned green, blocked by a non-sentient being incapable of understanding the consequences of its actions.”
-Emily Ackerman
[ID: three screenshots. The first is a perspective article by CityLab. It’s headline reads “My fight with a sidewalk robot.” The paragraph below reads “A life threatening encounter with AI technology convinced me that the needs of people with disabilities need to be engineered into our autonomous future.” Below the paragraph is a picture of a small rectangular sidewalk robot moving along a sidewalk.
The second screenshot is a tweeted picture by an unknown user of six sidewalk robots going down the side of the street, with a car trying to pull between two of them. There are two replies below it, the first reply is by Adrian Lopez @PaladinZilch and reads “Wow. Imagine being in a wheelchair and seeing that.” The second reply is by I [flaming heart emoji] You @IAm444x and reads “oh god the tech bros made car traffic for sidewalks [crying emoji].”
The third screenshot is a reply tweet by Will Jackson @geologywill that reads “A few weeks ago… it took 5 minutes for their sensors to figure out how to get out of the standoff… Enjoyed every second of it.” Below is a picture of three sidewalk robots caught in a circle at an outdoor bus stop, presumably stuck in their circle. End ID.]
@a-square-6-28-496 here's a reblog with image IDs
I see a child run out in front of this car and I throw a black lace shawl over their shoulders, saving their life
Not to be a hopeless romantic, but was anyone going to tell us that 2023 was the year scientists were able to visualize quantum-entangled particles for the first time and they literally look like yin and yang??
i think about this tweet a lot
Fun fact: Mandalorians touch foreheads when they want to show affection but cant take off their helmets. It’s called a Keldabe kiss. (This is also an ironic term for straight up head butting someone.)
that makes this so much worse:
FYI Jengo Fett’s (Boba’s dad) head is still in that helmet
I know it’s essentially “affectionate head butting” but I’ve always found the concept of the Keldabe Kiss fascinating bc the actors who played Jango and young Boba Fett are Māori and in māori culture they have the hongi which is a traditional greeting of touching noses/foreheads
Like I know it’s probably not that deep but I’ve always wondering if maybe that partly inspired the above moment with Boba
this is why i always powder the fuck out of my forehead before going to a community meeting lol. you end up leaving foundation on 40 elders’ foreheads if u arent prepared lmao
just wanted to add that one of the writers for much of the mandalorian content to come out when Legends was still the Expanded Universe specifically understood the significance of the Fett actors being Māori and the importance of the hongi, and the “Keldabe Kiss” was a way of canonizing that in-universe.
so yes, it is that deep, and it was intentional.
when I was a young kid I put on my dog's collar because I thought it was funny and my dad told me to take it off because it was "a sex thing" and I knew nothing about sex except that it somehow involved dog collars until I was like 11. unsure how this affected my psychosexual development exactly but it definitely did something
Well, you are on Tumblr now, so that should give you some hints.
should i just kill myself
I drew the gang,
my horrible hybrid of all of them
That's just a deer
some manga comparisons for ep 18
THIS IS SO FUCKING IMPORTANT! My best friend was turned into a meme on 4chan and 9gag and shit with everyone slut shaming her, and its fucking heartbreaking. People don’t understand the horror of seeing a picture of themselves on the internet with hundreds of thousands of people making fun of them. these people will most likely see these pictures online at some point. Theres no telling how they will react. Theres no telling what personal damage will occur to their self esteem. Do not post pictures of strangers on the internet. Do not reblog/repost these pictures either. Especially if they’re children. That is all.
Someone finally said it
This is their dynamic to me. Middle aged dad with what is both his cat and his stubborn teenage daughter
