Hey! What do you know! The dude actually showed up!
Not that Barry ever had a moment of doubt, though. Who would ever turn down a free ticket to some of the greatest matches that will ever have happened in wrestling history!?
…Or, that’s how they advertised it, but now that he thought about it they always said the matches that were about to happen would be the greatest ever.
“Yuuki!!” He greeted, jumping up and down a tad and waving his arms to be sure his attention was grabbed. Getting through the crowd was full of bumping and ‘excuse me’s, but after a minute he’d finally made it to the stand as well.
“Glad you could make it! Hope you weren’t waiting too long. I always come an hour before everything stars in case the snack lines and bathroom lines get long. If you gotta go, I can buy your snacks for you. What’d’ya want? My treat!”
It wasn’t hard to spot Barry, not when he was waving like a madman to get his attention.
The atmosphere was abuzz with a sort of static, the sort that crackled and hurt when one lunged too close, but the rush that came along was undeniably fun. It was one of those situations where it was supposed to feel good to let loose and join the crowd in its hyped-up madness.
Yuuki waved back, a little more reserved than Barry was. He didn’t feel like a changed man.
“I’m good,” he eventually said, trying - and promptly giving up - on matching Barry’s enthusiasm. He turned, and started towards one of the stands that sold brightly-coloured popcorn. “Well, actually, something to snack on would be nice.”
And then something else caught his eye. Something so wild, too colourful, quite Barry out of ten. Something that he, had he been six and totally into Mighty Morphin Pokémon Rangers, might have wanted at a summer festival.
“Hey ... Barry. Those masks that come with the Deluxe Limited -- Edi - Edition Power Gold, uh, Rush? Set...”
