ETA: the random number generator picked someone from instagram! sorry tumblr. i’m so moved by your generosity in contributing to the fundraiser and sharing it far and wide — quilt giveaway entrants contributed a total of $2,810 to the campaign.

i posted about this elsewhere but you guys can see it too—i made this quilt (with an assist on the actual quilting in the interest of getting it done quick) to help a local student with her fundraiser for her family fleeing gaza. dm me a screenshot of your contribution receipt to get your name in the digital hat once for every $10 CAD; the random number generator will choose a winner on april 7th at noonish MDT, and i'll ship it anywhere. grateful for any help you can offer her.

one of the common side effects of my spinal nerve stimulator is that you may feel the outline of the battery if you have a skinny ass. skill issue: get a bigger ass. the downside of the bigger ass hack is that it is HARD to find that fucker when you need it to be directly underneath the induction charger!

#i told you guys about the mournful fanfare it plays when it’s finished charging 😔#but not about the ALARM when you change body position and the charger is no longer directly above the battery

this is the last couple months’ weaving: a namedraft (like a substitution cipher where you assign each letter to a shaft of the loom and allow seed text to govern the threading) with pattern weft that i dyed and spun. i embroidered the seed text in a tabby margin i left for myself near one end of the shawl. cut it off the loom yesterday but left the threading intact so i can tie on another warp and weaving something the-same-but-different.

#same-but-different will be a cottolin warp and handspun slubby cotton pattern weft i think#i made this#3-ply twisted fringe is goated look how round it is
