it’s just that like. it’s so frustrating a year later for people in this fandom to still refuse to understand the matty criticism in good faith. & but daddy i love him has just fed into that. but whatever! i remember what happened. i remember how hard it was for everyone who stepped away. i remember how hard it was for anyone to come back. everyone’s talking about how we should’ve given her grace because she’s human and then turning around and refusing to give grace to anyone who was understandably horrified at what was happening. a lot of people have never really reconciled with the matty of it all and their relationship with taylor is tainted, and that’s not because they’re sexist and blame women for men’s mistakes. it’s because they understood that what someone says in public they must also say in private. & they - we - weren’t fans of his, so of course we wouldn’t care what he does. we’re fans of her. god, after all this time you guys still refuse to consider that maybe “it makes sense to question the morals of someone willing to spend their time with someone with no morals” is a fair point. obviously?
