After some much needed peace and quiet for the past few months, I’ve decided to start a new Martin blog from scratch over at @freemanswood for anyone around who’s interested. It’ll be quiet, much less wank, and primarily squeeing and blogging pretty pics, with perhaps a little freesmut on the side. Hope to see you there 👍

Sherlock Fandom matters:

Let’s recapitulate :

- a part of the fandom was very rude to Amanda even from beginning. What i read here on tumblr from some fans was not cute anymore (yes, i read death and harm threats toward Martin and his family, including his children). I am not talking about critics against Mary or against her acting. 

- a part of the fandom was very entitled and demanding. Exactly like Martin said. They are even now. Their incapacity to even accept another opinion ruined the fandom for me greatly. Their incapacity to accept another vision and how they reacted (yes, this is what Martin say about politicizing and calling him a c… or a d….  - go now on twitter, it is full with oh-so-disappointed-people calling him these words) - this was all real. They were very aggressive, drowning the voices of a large part of the fandom, pushing people out of the fandom, during campaign against them and calling names. This aggressivity was especially HERE on tumblr. Especially since S3. The abuse i got, even when i was at the rand of the fandom, was off putting. But remember when Mid0nz told the people that the creators doesn’t intend to do Johnlock on show and that some people read way too much with those rainbow colors and such? Remember the abuse they got? Because i still do. I remember the abuse the people skeptical to show-Johnlock got, how they were called idiots, how they were pushed away and talked derogatory. 

- I remember the outcry Martin got every fucking time he said there won’t be a sexual relationship between Sherlock and John. Yes, he said relationship, yes he said Love. Both are still possible between people without being a couple, sorry to bring these news to you. But let also remember that HE NEVER MADE FUN OF PEOPLE FANART AND FANFICS and was  very nice and supportive when showed them. 

- He acted jealous in S3 and this was taken over and over as a sign that John is in love with Sherlock. Don’t you people were anytime jealous of a relationship your friend had because it excluded you? Because i had some times and for real i was not a bit in love.

Sincerely i am done with the fraction “outcry outcry outcry” of Sherlock fandom. Their entitlement was and is off-putting to the show. Because of it i had already problems to still like Sherlock going into S4. No wonder that Martin had no fun anymore. Do not make it like Martin put all the fandom under question. He always said a part of it, he always said what he didn’t liked, and never complained about the shipping or the fanarts or the fanfics. He complained about the pressure and the politicizing of the expectation. He is right - exactly this part was also for me off-putting, poisoning and damaging and i didn’t invested time and kraft doing the show like him. 

It hurts me to see this debacle every fucking time and personally i am glad that Martin won’t invest more time to be dragged by people who are unable to be objective and to accept another point of view, for as much as they believe themselves to be open minded.

It's been pretty nice getting away and just lurking and liking when around. Tossing up between maybe starting a new blog on here, or elsewhere, or just leaving and sticking to twitter. Idk yet.

Did have a bit of a peek past my filters tonight to end up reading that recent Martin article posted, and lmao, the bitter pissbaby wank in the replies just gives me life. Arrogant, delusional pseudo-intellectuals yelling and whining at Martin's meaningless, ignorable post-hoc commentary. God, how I don't miss fandom (or Tumblr) in the slightest when it's like this.
