I think this is a great example of how well Erik manages to control the context of whatever scene he’s in. The first time he turns up in the palace, T’Challa tries to shut down his challenge to the throne by referring to him as an American chaos operative, but Erik turns it around on him by announcing his Wakandan name and heritage in xhosa, recontextualizing himself as a rightful Wakandan challenger.

Here T’Challa is taking him at his word, addressing him as a fellow Wakandan royal whom he can legitimately challenge for the throne, and Erik turns it around on him again  by responding and identifying as an American chaos operative, who feels no obligation to respect Wakandan traditions.

What was the point of the story Coraline? Because the first time I ever saw it, it was a DVD birthday gift from my mother, given with the description, "I saw this movie and thought of you, because the little girl in the movie is an ungrateful daughter like you are." I haven't been able to watch it more than once since then, and I keep finding mixed interpretations...

The point of it was to write a story for my daughters to tell them that being brave didn’t mean that you weren’t scared, it meant that you were scared but you did the right thing anyway; that people who give you lots of attention sometimes do not have your best interests at heart while people who give you less attention than you would like may still love you; that it is a good thing to save your family from the darkness, and that you have to forgive your dad if he’s writing things and can’t always stop to play with you.

I’ve not noticed any ungrateful daughters either in the book or in the film. I suspect your mother may be inclined to see them where they do not exist.

So I’m at my aunts house

And my cousin, who’s like 12 is really sick and she’s been in bed for the past few days. She was able to come downstairs for some juice (cuz she’s dehydrated af lol I could see it) and she had on some sleeping shorts and a lil tank top. Which is normal for sleeping. And my other aunt’s opens the black hole that is her mouth and says “you need to put clothes on, my husband is here!” So I was like “why is your husband looking at a twelve year old like that in the first place? 🤔 is there something we need to be worried about?” Now my entire fam is fighting and it’s beautiful.

Human fingers can detect nano-size objects. This means you not only have the ability to feel a tiny bump the size of a large molecule, but if your finger was the size of Earth, you could determine the difference between a house and a car. Source

And yet its still almost impossible to find the end of the tape

cowards. i can already tell the difference between a house and a car
