Something I've thought about since I saw the concept art for Sofia The First was that I would love to see the show in that 90s Disney 2D animation style, like in Hunchback of Notre Dame for example. The concept arts were made in the classic 2D style, to later be adapted to 3D, and I was lamenting about how much I wanted to see the cartoon in this animation format, most especially Cedric, who is my favorite and had very interesting arts.

At first they wanted to make him "uglier" (beauty is subjective), with an old appearance, more noticeable wrinkles and a missing tooth. In one of these arts, however (it's my favorite), it looks more like the final 3D design, but still a little similar to the concept and with an obviously very beautiful art style.

It makes me sad how we will never be able to see a 2D STF animation with this beautiful design.

Because of my hyperfocus on Sofia The First (and Disney princesses, or Disney in general, if you squint your eyes) I'm watching several Disney films that I've never seen before. Today I decided to watch Cinderella 2, it's a movie with three mini stories inside Cinderella's story, and the second story is when Jaq (the little mouse in the red outfit) wants to help Cinderella like he did before but he can't because now the castle is too big and she has employees for everything. So he asks the fairy godmother to turn him into a human.

And surprisingly, the design is a similar to Cedric's. Not so much the concept art, I'd say it looks more like the 3D version of Cedric we're already familiar with. I haven't finished watching it yet because I started to write the post (ehehehehe) but so far I think it's adorable. He has a more nervous personality because he's very insecure in that human body, He's the cutest! And honestly, he looks a lot like Cedric, he has the same face shape, long nose, eyebags and round scared eyes, big round ears and the concept art tooth. It's like that joke, "characters played by the same actor" and it's a bunch of characters that look alike

So if you're like me, who fell in love with STF's concept arts and cries to sleep every night because it was never made in 2D animation, Cinderella 2 is the best option. It gave me a warm feeling in my heart. 2D STF would be something like that, wouldn't it?

Still haven't found my stylus so have this drawing that I stuck in my my new diary :> (very first proper diary entry)

The weird bits on the left and top of the picture are blurred out words.

Yes I draw on blank spaces of paper I no longer need but feel bad about throwing away so I save them and draw on them then cut the drawings out with a cutter and paste it in my diary. That way I can have pretty drawings in my diary without worrying about bleeding ink ruining its pages! And I like the look of cut-out-and-pasted stuff.

Some time ago I wanted to draw StF characters during high school. I liked thinking about what they would look like at that age so much that a whole AU was born, which I painted.

During adolescence, a lot changes in a person's life: the environment, attitude, appearance and even one’s own self.

It became interesting for me to confront the characters with this, so the main theme of the AU is the first changes and the unknown that follows them.

As you may have noticed, the sisters are drawn in school uniforms. I think that the routine of high school gave a powerful impetus to the development of the characters' problems, because school is almost the main part of any teenager's life. This is a large concentration of stress, and its consequences are reflected in my AU.

Overall, I hope you enjoy reading this. I have divided the information on the characters and will make their profiles in separate posts. Links will be below as these profiles are published.

I got carried away and drew the full height of the adult Sofia. I liked the sophistication of her outfit, I wanted to keep the overall vibe of the character while creating something unique.

In the process, I started thinking about who Sofia is in adulthood? Who she works for, what her routine looks like, all that stuff.

In my head, Sofia is a royal advisor and/or regent, but with other hobbies. I feel like Sofia's desire to help people and her temperament fit perfectly into this profession. At the same time, she can carry out diplomatic missions and travel a lot. Family and close friends are very important to Sofia, so working at the castle is ideal for maintaining all the important connections for her. Plus, I like to think about how the three siblings make important decisions or do pleasant routine little things together, because the three of them work for the good of the country.
