Hello From The Hallowoods Hashtag Guide

Maybe it would be helpful for the fandom if we posted a few hashtag guidelines? Here's how things run on the official blog, anyway.

#hfth and #hello from the hallowoods are the main two we put content under.

I use #hfth spoilers for stuff related to a major plot twist past the end of Season 1 and beyond, but as the official blog, we've got to be a little more generous with that than most.

Maybe more helpful is, we tend to tag season-specific stuff by #hfth s1, #hfth s2, #hfth s3 and so forth, so you can screen out specific seasons if you're not caught up yet and don't want any direct references to what's coming.

We do try to keep the Wednesday morning asks from grieving fans free of direct spoilers, but going forward they'll be tagged with #hfth livescreaming.

We do keep an eye on #hfth and #hello from the hallowoods from time to time, to admire some great art and block all the Halloween storefront spam bots, so if you want something to truly be unseeable by Mx. Wellman, we're implementing the #hallownope tag. (It's more spellable than Noptilnope).

Hope this helps!

SHOWS OUR CHARACTERS WOULD LISTEN TO

9. DANA ZULU

@hellofromthehallowoods dana would like to think she's like riot and in a lot of ways she's right. I like to think if they ever met they'd make their own band. @stationarcadia dana would probably have her own oc, and a deep obsession with all the punk-ness of this show @room56pod it reminds her of her own high school experience just... maybe with less cryptids

Your loyal host is getting ready to DM some Dungeons and Dragons as a DM for hire, and you're invited!

These campaign rosters have filled up pretty fast, but there are still seats available for Out of the Abyss, a Tuesday evenings D&D 5E campaign following our party's dramatic escape through the phosphorescent caverns and mushroomy horrors of the endless Underdark.

Our first session is May 28th! Feel free to scope out all the details on Startplaying.games.

If you like The Locked Tomb, listen to these podcasts!

Where The Stars Fell:

Dr. Edison Tucker is having a very weird life. Not being able to die tends to color things that way. Lucille Kensington is the literary scene’s biggest enigma. That’s just the way she likes it. When the pair find themselves sharing a cabin in the strangest town in America— Jerusalem, OR— they’re prepared for a housemate situation from hell. What they’re not expecting is tidings of a stranger sort: Ed is the antichrist, Lucy her guardian angel, and if they can’t find a way to work together soon, the rapture is set to take first the town, then the world… but neither of them know that yet. Welcome to Jerusalem, OR, where what doesn’t kill you is just another mystery.

The creators have a whole post on why WTSF is perfect for The Locked Tomb and Griddlehark fans!

Malevolent:

Arkham Private Investigator Arthur Lester wakes up with no memory of who he is or what has happened, only a nameless, eerie voice guiding him through the darkness. Blind, terrified, and confused, his journey will lead him towards a series of mysteries in the hopes of understanding the truth of what has transpired. As cosmic horrors seep into the world around, Arthur must ask himself whether this entity truly seeks to help him, or are its intentions more… malevolent?

Dathen says it perfectly here: "The relationship between the investigator and the voice is by far the #1 sell of this story. It’s messy and ugly and beautiful and complicated and terribly, wonderfully intimate. It ended up overlapping a lot of my feelings about Harrow and Gideon, and lyctorhood in general."

Hello From The Hallowoods:

Come walk between the black pines! In this award-winning queer fiction podcast, a cosmic narrator follows the increasingly connected residents of the forest at the end of the world. It's a bittersweet story that explores queer identity, horror genre tropes, and finding hope in humanity's last moments.

If you like Gideon Nav, you will love Riot Maidstone. Just look at this fanart!

Clarification about the pricing for the open D&D campaigns. It's $25 for each individual session?

Yes indeed; Startplaying charges players each session the night of the game, so it's good to be aware up front. Though there's a Session 0, character creation, scheming, etc. that is just part and parcel for joining the campaign.

In addition to writing books and podcasts, I also play a LOT of roleplaying games. You can now find me as a DM for hire on Startplaying.games, which is a nice avenue to open up some adventures to the public!⚔️✨

To start with, there's two weekly campaigns available to join. Out of the Abyss is an older D&D 5E adventure about escaping the fungus-filled caverns of the Underdark while staving off some eldritch powers. It's a beginner-friendly game that drops you in at Level 1.

I'll also be running the brand new Vecna: Eve of Ruin, which is a little more intermediate (players begin at Level 10) and forms a 'greatest hits' of settings and villains as you heist your way through D&D's multiverse.

I can also be commissioned to run one-shot adventures of your choice! You can click here to get all the details. Let's roll!

Already a couple folks joining up! Thank you everyone!

Just wanted to call in and say your podcast really helps people. Well, me at least.

Not only do I really enjoy it, but I used the example of respectfully telling someone who likes you that you're aromantic today, to someone I'm 90% sure does.

This is why representation is important:)

And, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Thank you caller, glad you enjoyed this Hallowoods product! If you liked this, be sure to check out our other offerings like ‘electrocuting people who get your pronouns wrong with your mind’

Oh my goodness, Mx. Wellman you are a genius. Today’s episode evoked the full scope of human emotion for me. I feel so genuinely in depth for each character and I am gripping my chair in anticipation. You have such wonderful writing at such a beautiful pace which feels so natural for a weekly audio drama.

Congratulations on creating something which will change the minds of so many :3
