Need Help

Hey all. So this is incredibly hard to be at this point. And all the harder knowing people on this site are in the exact same position. As it is, income has been next to nonexistent this year. Mom and I have been reliant on her $400 SS (the remainder is allotted towards bills and managed in a separate bank account managed by my brother who is in charge of her SS payments). All that to say, after the government did away with Covid era SNAP benefits we only get $23 a month towards groceries and the rest of the food budget comes out of that $400. The $400 also, due to my lack of income, must also cover my monthly bills. Granted, my bills aren't extreme. The breakdown is below:

What hurt me this month is the annual bills - particularly my website/email domain which is $72. That came through today. My bank account is at a zero balance. I had made just enough earlier this month to cover my Adobe and phone bills. But I don't have anything to deal with the other bills and I'm going to be overdrawn due to the automatic $72 bill.

So here is where I am needing to ask for help. I'm hoping to get enough to cover the overdraft (typically about $30) as well as my remaining bills and a bit for additional groceries as well.

If I could end up with about $250 that would be amazing. I absolutely understand if a donation is beyond anyone's budget. I also super appreciate simply sharing this post.

because I'm doing the reverse - Dream knows he likes Hob and feels something for him, and the goal is to have him realize that he can feel for others and forgive them as well, not just Hob

and I know I'm doing it but having the reverse be validated like this for canon is just- so many feels 😭

I was watching some "Reading the Past" videos for research, and learned about this piece of original 18th century stained glass in Westminster.

HOB?!?

Is that you wrenching that press tight, bruh? Were you having a laugh when you posed for the sketch for this window 400 years later?

"Do you imagine I did not already know?" Morph says with a smirk, as Hob leads him into the church and up the trancept.

Hob squeezes his hand three times - I love you.

But out loud he says, "Know-it-all."

"Stories are stories, my beloved." He gestures with one moon-pale hand at the way the sun shafts through the stained glass. "This story celebrates the birth of printed books on this island I now call home. And you were there twice. Once as the apprentice in truth. Once as the model for your own trade. Of course I knew."

"Aye, couldn't help it, could I?" Hob says, tugging his ear with gentle embarrassment, swinging their joined hands between them. "Didn't want anyone else's mug up there when I'm the one who did all the hard work. I'm the one who stayed up late, and burned the ends of my fingers, and reeked of rotting ink. So I thought, should be my face up there next to his. A man's allowed his pride, isn't he?"

"Indeed," Morph says. He releases Hob's hand only to cup his jaw between slender palms and bestow a cool, sweet kiss on his mouth. "And proud you should be."

"I'm glad this one survived the blitz," Hob says when Morph pulls away.

They both look at the window. Hob slides a hand into Morph's back pocket to hold him close.

"I do as well, " Morph says.

They bask in the syrupy golden light coming in through the window for a few minutes longer. Hob is just about to suggest lighting a candle for old Master Caxton when a bevy of tourists tumble in the back door and laugh their way up the church.

"Hey!" one of them shouts, face flushed with the British chill and the excitement of recognition. "Look guys! It's the Witch Knight!"

Hob braces himself for a mob of what sounds like American history nerds descending on them, but when he turns to face the crowd of love-struck college students are staring up at the stained glass.

"Jeeze, Megan, your hyperfixation is showing again," says one of them, shoving the girl who originally shouted playfully. "That is just stained glass. Sir Robert Gadlen the third has been dead for, like four hundred years."

"And Robert Gadlen the sixth is already married," Morph calls out to the tourists, flashing his left hand with proprietary smugness.

"You bastard!" Hob laughs, yanking Morph into an undignified run down the aisle, toward the door.

"The actual Witch Knight!" Megan shrills.

Hob skids to a halt at the door, just long enough to throw over his shoulder: "We are not calling me that!"

I read so many Dreamling fics where Hob assures Dream his friendship is noy transactional. It's very sweet, but it makes my hands itch to write out the difference between transactional and reciprocal.

The exchange in a transaction is currency in place of personal care. I pay my therapist to give me what I need without my needing to return that care.

Reciprocity is paying time for time, care for care.

Yes, Dream, Hob's time comes at a price - if you want him to spend his time with you, you have to spend your own time with him.

I want to see Hob, upon realizing Dream believes he is stealing kisses, demand Dream give those kisses back immediately, in mock outrage, until Dream understands what is actually being exchanged between them.

I have been trying to recreate parts of the feast 1589 Hob put up for Dream in The Sandman. Since I don't eat or know where to find venison, I made my version of Cornish pasties with lamb, potatoes, and carrots. Yes, Hob, they're good!

first time I ever went to the animal shelter and picked out my own animal was surreal. we had so many animals growing up but we never picked out any of them. and sure that’s normal for cats. they just showed up and we adopted them. but it didn’t end there.

we had a ball python because my mom was on a walk with her friends, saw it on the ground (this was Ohio) said “woah! that’s not native!” and put it in her purse. we advertised but never found the owner so we kept the purse python.

we ended up with a corn snake during a hurricane because my mom went out to get one of the cats and the corn snake was so little it came blowing through the air like a branch and my mom reached out and grabbed it out of the air to save it.

actually the point of this post is lost because I typed this far and realized the universe was maybe just sending my mom snakes specifically.

the most infuriating thing about personal growth is that even if someone else did have the answer you needed and conveyed it to you in a precise and effective matter, it won't make sense until you're ready for it. you could hear it every day of your life and it wouldn't matter a fucking bit until it finally clicks. there's very little you can do to influence when that happens, either
