Aww... Gotta love the way Spock expresses his love for Nyota.

Part of the reason why I’m not more of a Trekkie is that every time I look up “spock/uhura” or “spock & his family” nine out of every ten posts are still about Spirk.

Oh the struggle of Spock fans who don’t care about ships, or they like his actual romance in the reboot just fine and/or would like for his actual stories and backstory to get developed more.

It’s funny because some people in this fandom concern troll so much about Uhura being “reduced to a love interest” but I actually, ironically, at times find much more fanon gen content about her than about Spock. It’s like people essentially project on her the very thing they do with Spock themselves. I mean, try being a Spock fan who doesn’t think his role is just being either Kirk’s nerdy friend or boyfriend, or one piece of the original trio. Try finding content that isn’t, like, about Spock needing to see the light and understand how to human thank to his dudebro (cue the whining when canon doesn’t align with such interpretations.. I mean, it’s almost as if…Spock is part human himself? And he has a life beyond THAT captain and ship? Whoa).

The Vulcan elder looks like Judi Dench.

I love that they put Dame Judi Dench in the comic. I wonder if she secretly likes Star Trek and wanted to be a Vulcan or the artist just loves Judi Dench?

Original Spock/Uhura is the best thing ever, okay, and BBCA with their weekend marathons just reminded me.

These faces were for sure referenced, haha. I also don’t know if they’ve got a ship name or not.

A deleted scene.  Not sure which episode, but check out Spock and Uhura making eyes at each other.

It is from “Elaan of Troyius.” Uhura happens upon Spock playing in the rec room. The deleted scene was full of Spock/Uhura goodness and has inspired a good deal of fanfiction, including one of my stories. See the link below for more pics and the script. In the scene Uhura asks Spock to teach her to play the lyre and he agrees.

Spock and Uhura snippet and drawing from an strange a idea I had.

Spock awoke in a grey quilted bed laying beside a warm being that had their dark milk leg draped over his jogger covered leg. He did not remember retiring with a partner last night. In fact he didn't remember anything.

The leg with the partner attached squirmed closer in search of heat and spread their smooth, jasmine and lavender smelling hand across he's bare chest. Telepathic touch open his mind to the strange sense of belonging and affection across this bond but what surprised him most was that he was not just enjoying this sensation but also reciprocating it.

He had no memory of this bond being created nor that he was possible of such a bond outside of his familiar bonds.

His hand had a mind of its own and to his horror he stroked across her face, brushing away the long dark strands that disturbed his view of her beautiful face.

He thought it was odd that he was using hyperbole to describe this person beside him. But it was also odd he was in bed with another person. So he pushed past the rational discomfort and continued to stroke her skin in curiosity.

The humanoid next to him was female and tall at that. Her skin was a bronzed chocolate colour that smoothed across her whole body.

She felt and smelled familiar but he couldn't quite detect her identity.

Stirring, he pulled away like she was a naked flame in order to prevent her panic.

Her eyes fluttered and she smiled.

It was the happiest Spock had felt in a long time and the emotion was beginning to become addictive.

" Morning Adun ( husband ) "

His eyebrows rose at the speed of light.

He ignored the massive drop of his stomach and the excitement it sent his organs as she spoke his native language.

She reached forward and kissed his chest gently and work slowly the way up until she found his lips. She caressed his skin with such tenderness.

Being in shock Spock just let it this event continue.

"Good morning Adun'a (Wife)"

His use of English and Vulcan combined as well as the emotion expressed through them was beginning to panic Spock.

His eyes watered. It was as if his body had let go of anything Vulcan within and let go of any control he had.

He let his fingers trace the points of his ears. He was still Vulcan. He felt Vulcan but he was free of his usual turmoil.

He was calm on the inside and relaxed on the outside. 'Strange' he thought to himself.

When he came to from his thoughts, his wife was looking at him strangely.

" Spock?" She asked in a voice that filled him with joy. It was a drug to him and she'd only spoke a few words.

" Yes."

" Are you alright? You seem away."

" I am quite fine, Adun'a."

As they lay close, just breathing in each other, the door flung open and chorus of noise filled his ears. At first his brain wanted to take a protective stance but he's body did not occur with the assessment of the situation.

The hard pitter patter of feet hit the wooden floors was heard first then a small voice stated " Mama?!" Then another said " Father?!"

Spock rose without command as a small body hit him in the chest but due to his reflexes he caught the other small body before more injury could occur.

The third person - a female with long curly black hair, white bronzed skin and blue eyes climbed up independently.

The beautiful woman reached down and pulled her to sit beside them in the middle of the bed. The two boys matched this female with curly black hair that lay messily on their heads and blue eyes similar to his.

Their skin seemed darker than that of the girls.

One of the boys moved to jump across to Spock's partner he caught him, saying "Alhamisi! You will harm your sister if you jump on your mother." The boy turned and replied " But mama's amniotic fluid would protect her."

" Not from your weight and acceleration it would not."

" Baby, if you wanna sit with me. Just ask. Spock would you please get me a cup of water?"

" Of course, Nyota." He head swung around faster than a Klingon's who's mother had just been insulted.

He for the first time in this strange morning, he had taken a good look at her.

She lay with three children snuggled against her wearing just shorts and his bridge undershirt. A swollen stomach poked out from under the shirt and showed the life growing within her.

He searched the children and found pointed ears just like himself. " Father? May we have Plomeek soup for dinner tonight?" The young girl asked in Vulcan.

" If we were able to get the ingredients today. We may cook Plomeek Soup Amanda. Do you wish to company me to the market?" He replied in standard.

" Yes. Father this would be preferable."

" Ayhan, would you like to come with us?" Amanda inquires.

" We shall all go, as a family." Nyota replied.

Spock flung his body up in a start. He hands searched the area for his wife. He was panting and shouting her name. He couldn't hear the words coming out of his mouth be he knew he must be loud as his throat felt roar.

Hands were pushing him back and scanning and shinning probes over him. They kept telling him to be still. In exhaustion he let these strangers hold him down as his eyes closed again.

Though the writers seem uninterested in developing Spock and Uhura, it would be such a missed opportunity.

If Spock sees his connection to T’Pring through his Vulcan side, and that of Chapel with his human side, I could see Uhura being the one to accept him completely. After all, Uhura (more than anyone) is passionate about learning about others for who they are:

While I can see the writers setting up Spock feeling conflicted about Chapel and T’Pring, and thus the internal dichotomy he feels regarding his Human and Vulcan makeup, it would feel more satisfying if he chose neither. And maybe Uhura would be the perfect third option love interest, who wouldn’t make him feel the need to choose.

Plus Spock and Uhura’s scenes in 1x02 are just too good not to have more of.

The level of respect Spock has for Uhura in such a short amount of time is so precious.

If they don’t wanna go for the Uhura/Spock romance, fine, but at least give me more of their friendship I mean COME ON.

Spock taking forever to explain something and Uhura getting it like three sentences and putting it in standard English for everyone else is one of my favorite things

I love Star Trek and Nyota/Spock so I need some Namor/Shuri crossover fan art and fic asap. You have Spock and Namor both with their pointy ears and loving their mom so much! In AOS Spock losing Vulcan and his mom (who left earth for vulcan but ofc misses it) and he struggles between his Vulcan and human side, then you have Namor who is clearly in awe of a place like Wakanda yet distrusts surface dwellers.

Nyota and Shuri being skilled at so many things! Nyota isn't just a communications officer but knows engineering and she's great in field work. Both logical women who have their pointy eared boys wrapped around their fingers, and artistic hobbies like Nyota loves singing while Shuri does graffiti art.

And in Star Trek Beyond Spock gifts Nyota with his mother's necklace (she tries to give it back in the beginning but he refuses) and it ends up being part tracking device which saves her and their crew. While Namor gifts Shuri his mother's bracelet which helps her become Black Panther and save both Wakanda and Talokan. Namor and Shuri also kinda give off Mirrorverse!Spock and Mirrorverse!Nyota vibes idk they're somewhere in between. Even though they weren't together in TOS (Nichelle Nichols and Leonard Nimoy were both for it tho) they had a unique relationship with respect for each other 😭 point is love them both

And you can't tell me different that the scene where Uhura is flirting with Spock about seeing the full moon on his planet wasn't brought up somewhere when writing and filming Namor showing Shuri the sun in Talokan, also such a nice coincidence that Uhura has her iconic green earrings and Shuri has green earrings in that scene.
