Always wear your cutest outfit. Stop saving so many looks for “special occasions”. You showing up is a special occasion. Look your best.

Bonus: The more you wear your “special” outfit on ordinary days, the more encouraged you are to make your days special. It works both ways and it’s really motivating!

Shows up to work with kids in a full ballgown

I dont care about clothes. Why should I have to? Why should I have to be pressured to look my best 100% of the time. I just want to be comfortable. Every girl if she's a "real girl" has to care about cute outfits and shopping and I'm tired of it. Cant I just wear the most comfortable and practical clothes. A dress and high heels will trip me up if I try to run. I don't want to be an action movie woman who has to run in his heels AND look her best all.the.time.

Plus I dont have money to waste on clothes. If I have extra money I'd rather donate it to someone who needs it rather than external frivolity.

It’s not about having expensive or stylish clothes. Honestly, it sounds like this post isn’t for you. If it were more tailored to you, it’d be like:

“Always wear your most comfortable outfit. Stop feeling pressured to look a certain way in public. Life should always be comfortable. Live it up.”

OP was just making a post for those people who specifically leave their favourite clothes hanging in their closet, longing for the day when they can show everyone their true style and be their most confident.

My favourite clothes are from Walmart, or they’re hand-me-downs, or they’re thrifted. AND they’re comfortable. AND they’re in my style. Once I stopped shopping for clothes that met other people’s expectations on what’s appropriate for my age, gender, etc, THAT’S when I started really feeling good about myself. I’ve gotten the most compliments in my looks now than ever before, yet I’m the least athletic (I’m super lazy) and (obviously) oldest I’ve ever been.

“Look your best” is not a command that you need to look better. That’s not OP’s intention. It’s a rebellion against the idea that we need to dress modestly on a daily basis if we don’t want to. If style is your passion, don’t hold yourself back.

Plus, depending on your age, if you were raised in the 90s, we had this really strange “girl power” movement that insidiously shamed and villainized women who enjoyed fashion and makeup (labeling them as shallow, materialistic) rather than empowering women altogether no matter their interests and hobbies.
