Good news, fellow artists! Nightshade has finally been released by the UChicago team! If you aren't aware of what Nightshade is, it's a tool that helps poison AI datasets so that the model "sees" something different from what an image actually depicts. It's the same team that released Glaze, which helps protect art against style mimicry (aka those finetuned models that try to rip off a specific artist). As they show in their paper, even a hundred poisoned concepts make a huge difference.

(Reminder that glazing your art is more important than nighshading it, as they mention in their tweets above, so when you're uploading your art, try to glaze it at the very least.)

Everyone reblog! Spread the word so more and more artists learn that in addition to Glaze that coats art against ai scraping mimicry there's also an offensive tool now, able to skew and poison data pools.

Now poisoning will need many artists to nightshade their art and it's most important to get this ou to those the most at risk of being scraped. Reblog!

Not me basically having a real life celebrity fanfic imagine happen this past weekend.

I'm clearly gay and fluster easily around gorgeous women. You can't just kiss my cheek and hug me tightly the last day we see each other. Then hold my hands and say you hope to see me in person again.

I still have not recovered.

Fourteen watercolor pieces and counting. I'm making these to hide or giveaway at Dragon Con as part of Swag N Seek where people hide little trinkets or goodies for people to find during the con.

I'm shooting for at least 30 pieces but I'm not sure if I can do it

From what I recall, the first time I saw 'rainbow capitalism' from a big brand was this image from Oreo in 2012.

It created a lot of controversy. Calls for boycotts and such. But Oreo didn't take it down. They were unapologetic and didn't try to appease the homophobes or backtrack.

And I know this sounds weird, but it was like a shift. Proof that public opinion or acceptance of queerness was widespread enough for a company to consider it profitable.

I feel like such an afterthought to people in my life. Don't call me family and then treat me like nothing. That isn't how this works. Definitely setting boundaries and they've lost my trust.

I feel like if you have a local art festival you should be supporting local talent. I don't see the value of bringing in an out of state artist (which would cost the event more) than paying your local artists.

Being told that there is value in bringing in out of state artists and that they hoped local artists would come out and see them work feels shitty. Nah I'm good. I don't need to go out to a small festival to watch another professional work.

Also if you say you've worked really hard on an event for locals and all it is is a competition, nah I'm good.

in case it hasn’t been clear, this blog is firmly and unwaveringly pro-choice.

I want to write. I have ideas. I open document. I type four of the worst sentences ever created in the english language. I daydream the rest of the scene. I close document.
