Found your art completely by chance and oh my god, taking a trip down memory lane doesn’t begin to describe the feelings I had sifting through everything. I feel like I took a wrong step and fell down a gaping hole of childhood nostalgia. The second I saw the tags Nicktoons Unite, I was whipped back to being like 8-9 years old and watching my older sister play the OG Nicktoons Unite on our GameCube. I remember she snagged the game for 1.99$ from EB and played the shit outta it; I was no good at games and got fed up quickly (our parents would force her to share) but I loved watching her play. We spent the entire fall/winter in that cold basement, huddled in blankets with our baby sister, playing that game. My older sister really also got really into Toybots and Globs of Doom, but nothing like the OG. We’re not all that close anymore as we’re both grown, but seeing your art took me back to the time when we were. You’ve warmed my frosty little heart with your awesome compositions, colouring and designs (Danny, admittedly, being my favourite). Thank you for sharing your art 💕
First of all I'm sorry that I replied to this so late. There aren't enough words either to really describe how much this message made me happy, to know that my works evoked such a feeling. Plus, I can't take all the credit either, it's really thanks to @nicktoonsunite that I even got to start drawing them so often back in 2016 and now, hahah
The Nicktoons gang is so closely associated with the idea of childhood nostalgia in general just like any other cartoon from decades ago. But when they're tied to unique memories like yours, that makes them all the more special and I love hearing about it and being able to connect with other people that way. And that's what I love when it comes to drawing them. I grew up watching the tv shows and playing all the Nicktoons Unite games, so when I found out that there's a small community sharing art centered around the games and these four characters in particular, I got hooked. I'm happy that you got to share the experience with your sisters, it sounded like a lot of fun playing the whole series together, and it's definitely a nice thing to reminisce about. Thank you for your support and for sharing these sweet memories. <3
