anyways. guys if you’re protesting, remember to wear nondescript clothing, a hat, and a mask. gloves are also a good idea. no jewellery, and if you have long hair, TIE IT UP. bring water and snacks (you will get hungry) and wearing shoes you know for sure you can run in if shit hits the fan.

turn off face recognition on your phones. shut off location services. turn off data while you’re there. lock your social media accounts — and do NOT post pictures while you’re there. do NOT post pictures of others there if they aren’t fully covered. this isn’t an instagrammable moment.

look out for your fellow protesters. this is a movement, not a solo show. bring first aid. help if you have knowledge, or help those who do, should people get injured.

and remember: if things go south, there is NO SHAME in running. if you are safe, it means you’re able to do this again another day.

Lesbian knights keep battling the perils of my tower until they reach the top to look for some captive princess and instead they find this old wizard… then they just look SO disappointed… like you literally came into MY house

On an unrelated note I’m now selling statues of buff lady knights with mildly sorrowful looks on their faces

Hmm. What’s the status of the spell “Pygmalion’s Transmutation of Stone to Flesh”?

The status of this spell is:

USE RESTRICTED

to at LEAST five hundred miles away from me and my tower, thanks

Can't believe tge Wizard Council is homophobic 😔

Can’t believe you are calling us the home of phobic, do you know how many stone butch lesbians are in this home right now? So many.

Hearing a lot of complaints about the distance, so I can only be lead to believe lesbians

won’t walk 500 miles,

and then won’t walk 500 miles more,

just to buy a buff lady knight statue

from my top tower floor?

outta my way gayboy im bout to get it

i have been petrified.

Even if I don’t appreciate the B&E I do appreciate lesbians’ dedication to the bit

this couldn’t be said any better

THIS. Like, we cannot keep having this conversation. "Hey I noticed you follow x but they ship this/watch this/read this/follow this fandom which is problematic." I don't care. Unless this person is a nazi, a terf, or something along those lines, I literally don't care. I have a degree. I'm pursuing a master's. I got bills to pay, a house to maintain, food to make, places to be. I do not give a single flying fuck about this person shipping something weird. Let them. I don't care. It's their problem. We're talking about 2D lines here. If you have a problem with me for not having a problem with someone (again, unless this someone is a genuine piece of shit) then go, don't even bother, I'm an adult with adult responsibilities and duties. Someone doesn't see your blorbo the way you do? I'm sure the 2D blorbo who doesn't even exist won't mind, and neither should you if you don't want to face liver failure before you turn 30. "Agree to disagree" is a reasonable state of mind for these things, it's okay if not everyone appreciates/hates/thinks the same as you, I promise.

this is incredibly relevant now, but let me add something else: YOU ARE NOT THE “FACE OF A MOVEMENT.”

if you are with a solidarity encampment, odds are that your student organizers have set up a media liason. it is so important that THEY are the only person to speak with ANY official news outlets. if we can control this narrative, we WILL win.

keep yourself safe. keep your fellow protestors safe. we live in terrifying times, but i believe that we will see a liberated palestine in our lifetimes.

Do other writers ever get this like, hyper-specific dialogue exchange drop into their brains and you know exactly where these character are standing and what they’re doing and how they’re saying these words but that’s all you get. You don’t have much other context and this specific moment that exists only at this time in your headspace??

never meet your heroes, unless your hero is nightwing, if so ignore the previous statement because who doesn’t want to meet nightwing? don’t associate yourself with someone who doesn’t want to meet nightwing

“Nobody’s going to want to sit on high-speed rail for fifteen hours to get from New York City to LA.”

Me. I will sit on high-speed rail for fifteen hours. I’ll sit on it for days. I’ll write and read and nap and eat and then do it all over again. I’ll stare out the windows and see America from ground level and not have to drive. I’ll see the Rockies and the deserts and cornfields and the Mississippi River and your house and yours and yours too. I’ll make up stories in my head about the small towns I see as we go along. I’ll see the states I’ve yet to see because driving or flying there is a fucking slog and expensive to boot. I’ll enjoy the ride as much as the destination. And then I’ll do it all over again to come the fuck home.

Me getting slammed with notifications on this post in particular:

I used to love going to San Diego for Comic Con by train. I’d start in Chicago, take a train that would take two or three days of bimbling through lower Illinois and Texas and New Mexico and I’d get to LA and then a commuter train to San Diego. I’d meet thousands of people in San Diego and then I’d get on the train in LA and go up the coast and then head East and spend another day or two decompressing until I got off in Minneapolis St Paul. It was the best time of the year. Sometimes I’d write and sometimes I’d stare out of the window.

i feel like the boeing whistleblower case should radicalize more people. a major airline company is producing planes with less and less regard for safety and it's starting to get noticeable. man takes them to court, which would reduce profit at the cost of public safety. he fucking dies the night that boeings legal team asks him to stay an extra day. if nothing happens about this, i hope it gets through to people that america would literally kill you for a few extra cents

the way the war in gaza has been constantly about targeting flour, targeting hospitals, targeting universities, targeting water containers, targeting anything that brings life in order to "thin out the population" and "encourage palestinians to move to tent cities in egypt"

and then you have western media readily calling it a "humanitarian crisis" therefore fulfilling israel's goal of manufacturing a humanitarian crisis. this entire war was with the purpose of collectively punishing a civilian population of 50% children. that's why it was immediately understood and labelled as a genocide by multiple genoide scholars, by the lemkin institute, and is currently on trial for genocide at the hague

like the starvation and the blocking of aid and the dropping of parachuted MREs to just barely salvage the reputation of a few politicians is not a byproduct of the war. it's not collateral damage. it is a central pillar of the genocide. acquiescing to israelis blocking aid by building ports and dropping pallets of food means acquiescing to famine as a strategy instead of trying to stop it. famine is not collateral damage, it is a central pillar of genocide. killing children is not collateral damage. it is a central pillar of the genocide. we don't need hindsight to say this plainly, anyone who denies it now is another pillar of genocide.
