🔹 Saying that it's okay to write or read about dark and taboo topics but only when they're portrayed in a certain way is still censorship.

🔹 Wanting to ban or forbid media that you believe portrays a negative topic in a positive light, by glorifying, romanticizing, or fetishizing it is still censorship.

🔹 There is no objective metric to decide if a story is portraying a negative topic the 'right' way.

🔹 Just because a piece of fiction doesn't explicitly condemn or portray an evil action in a bad light in the text doesn't mean the author thinks its good or is trying to persuade the audience that it is good.

🔹 Survivors of trauma will not always write fiction about their trauma in a way that seems 'right' or 'normal' to you.

🔹 Banning fiction because it portrays dark, taboo topics in a way you consider gross or disgusting is still censorship.

This has been an issue as of late here on Tumblr for me, like the last couple of days. Opening Tumblr has the site freeze for a bit, images in posts don't load and just show as "image" until finally everything loads, or it brings up that error page shown above.

Is this on my side only or is anyone else having this issue? Turning off my Firefox add-ons doesn't improve the situation.

Edit: There is the "image" thing.

Glad to know I'm not the only one. I'll pass it on to support.

Support sent me some steps to try out and clearing my browser cache completely did the trick.

If you're experiencing this on Firefox and desktop (like me), head to the Firefox menu and select History. In "Clear recent history..." select Everything in the "Time range to clear" dropdown menu and tick/enable the last two options under Data:

(I tried clearing it without those two options enabled and it did nothing to fix the issue.)

The window shown above will go away once it is done clearing your cache and Tumblr should no longer freeze up after a refresh. Hope this works for you too!

A reminder that this will clear things so if you have specific settings on a certain site, remember them or note them down.

Edit, 07 april 2024: Added Chainwheel to the lineup and added measurement lines. The heights are based on the official heights in the IDW comics.

My hand slipped further and gave Stray a body along with a paint job.

Shifted some things around on my robo version of Stray because I wasn't happy with his "wheel shoulders" from before. Now he can have wheel heelies whenever he wants to!
