Prawn and habanero lasagne for my dinner party the other day.

A magnum of Albahra Garnacha from Envínate to go along with it - I visited the vineyard and winery in May this year, and ate a long, crazy lunch with the four winemakers from Envínate, so it felt fitting. Kind of thinking about it like it's cannonau, because a lot of the food I made for the dinner was vaguely Sardinian inspired.

And a salad if chicory, little gem and nasturtium leaves, dressed in a dijon & wholegrain mustard, olive and walnut oil, sherry vinegar and red onion vinaigrette. With a couple of nasturtium flowers from the garden too and a little bay leaf oil I made the other day too.

Sesame and citrus salad, roasted broccoli, smashed cucumber salad with soy and ginger and rice.

I've been meaning to make this citrus dish with blood oranges while they were in their season but life has just run away from me recently. It's just regular oranges sliced and sitting in a pool of sesame sauce made from tahini, orange juice and zest, soy sauce, rice vinegar, salt, msg, sugar and a little water. With sesame seeds and shichimi togarashi on top of course.

Mussels and orzo in a coconut, saffron and scotch bonnet stew, with a herb oil and Calabrian chilli paste (an ingredient I don't think I've ever owned before.) The last time I made this was in mid October last year, a bright taste of summer when the sun felt like it was setting for the final time before we were benighted by the depths of darkest winter. It seemed right that I might make it now when it's looking like we might make it out and back into the sunlight. The only way out is through, unfortunately.
