TW: MEDWHUMP/MEDICAL LANGUAGE

Hi everyone! @whumpetywhumpwhump here- I noticed there doesn't seem to be an official Medwhump May running this year, so I'm running one myself :)

I appreciate it's pretty late in the game to be releasing prompts, but I was waiting to see whether the official page was going to post anything before deciding to start mine. Hopefully a few of you would like to get involved (even if it is short notice lol)

RULES!

  • No AI-generated content
  • Please tag this account if you post your challenge submissions on Tumblr and use the tag 'medwhump may' (as in the tags of this post)
  • For completionists, all 31 days must be completed (using either the daily prompt or an alt prompt)
  • When creating content for chronic illnesses and seizures, PLEASE USE THE RELEVANT WHUMP TAGS INSTEAD OF THE GENERAL TAGS. e.g 'seizure whump' rather than just 'seizures'. This avoids important tags being flooded with whump fics

I already did Our Turn so I thought I would write a bit of a Kerry/Sandy fic that is still in my drafts from a (long) while back!

Snippet:

"Maybe she hasn't been feeling great..." Sandy shook her head. "But...we thought it was just side effects of the IVF..." she said through a shaky breath. "IVF?" Abby swung her neck around. "You are doing IVF?" "Yes, she has the retrieval next week." "Hyperstimulation. We are going to need a consult," Abby voiced her theory to the group working on Kerry. She blocked them out for a moment and leaned down so her patient could hear her with all the movement that surrounded them. "Kerry, I think you have some fluid building up in your lungs and possibly your peritoneal cavity. That’s what’s causing the pain, do you understand?”

just did a little snippet of gravity here so i’ll give you our turn <3

“B4 has much to learn about humanity,” Data pondered, turning his head back to his brother. “It is likely that he will not be able to assimilate to life in Starfleet.”
“I wouldn’t be so sure, Data,” Beverly replied, smiling at B4 and then moving over to a nearby console in the laboratory to continue the conversation. “In my eyes, there is no one better than yourself to teach B4. And the Enterprise-E would be a wonderful place to learn - as you did on the D. So I don’t see why B4 has to leave at all.”
“The Enterprise has proven to be a suitable environment for such development,” he agreed with a tilt of his head. “It was where I had planned to teach Lal about life. Perhaps, I could do the same with B4.”
“Exactly, Data!”
“Is this why you and the Captain have also decided to procreate on the Enterprise?” he quired and Beverly’s cheeks immediately flushed a bright pink. “You also believe it to be a suitable environment to raise your offspring?”
“Data -” Beverly’s mouth fell open. “How? We haven’t told anyone yet…”

It’s WIP Wednesday, time for a little accountability, sharing your work, and getting a kick in the pants.

Please someone write some more loving and in character labor and delivery babyfic for P/C

They actually have a kid, he said he wanted to be a husband and a father, she wanted him there but was too afraid to tell him, that’s all canon!

Please folks write him being there, write him being there when Wesley was born, give them a baby at 74 and 82 post season 3.

Just please write more hurt/comfort delivery scenes for them. We have them holding alien babies and Wesley being his and him finding out when Wes is a teenager fics abounding and I love those and those are awesome, but they are such a great in canon pair at hurt/comfort and such a bad one at getting to enjoy their baby arriving together , that I need more writers to try this. I have seen maybe 5 thst sound like them and that exist in the whole of P/C fic so far.

I am a fic writer but writing P/C fic just isn’t my strength, I can’t get the voices right enough in my brain to pen something. So it’s up to you my sweet friends.
