Getting back to work on my the xenomorph head. . I was starting to get ready to put the knife to the foam and carve when I realized something didn't seem right. ..To make a long story short, I went out and bought a new mannequin head which I know is the actual size of human skull and I put it up to the pattern to realize that the pattern I traced out from my projector is too big! WAY too big. . Needless to say, I broke up an image of the actor wearing the alien costume and printed it out, put it together and now I'm retracing the shape, making the bottom jaw separately. . I am SO GLAD I caught that mistake before I made it! **Xenomorph Progress** I would have posted the sooner but I had to run out and get more spray adhesive. Plus it rained a lot recently. . . *First picture: Luna helping me hold down the insulation foam board while I measure out rectangles to cut and glue together. . *:Second picture: 15 layers of foam board glued together with LocTite Spray Adhesive. I used EVERY INCH of 3 full foam boards to create this brick! This is what I'll be carving the Alien head out of. . *Third & Fourth picture: laying out the patterns that I drew using my projector for the alien head. Just making sure everything matches up and I have enough space to work with! . It's been 3-4 years since I last wore my March Hare costume. And it's been 4 months since I last wore a costume at all. It's been a nice break but time to start getting my butt in gear and get back to my roots. Today I will be judging a costume contest for summer camp at the Coral Springs Art Museum! I feel so honored that I was accepted as a costume judge for such a young crowd.😊 I'm happy to bring out my Sakizo March Hare costume again! 💖 I want these kids to know that, they may be starting small, but with many years and lots of practice and dedication anyone could eventually make a costume like this. May this be a stepping stone and the kick-start that I need to get back into sewing. Hello and happy Saturday everyone! How are my friends doing today? I'm super excited to finally be starting to work on a new project! It is another horror costume, however, I'm putting a little twist on it to make it really funny. I found a fan art piece which inspired this whole idea and I actually just got permission from the artist to use the art piece!
