Niall focussed on Zayn’s steady heartbeat, tried to use it to ground himself. thump, thump, thump One, two, three. He was safe. Always safe in Zayn’s arms.

“You can be the substitute teacher, if you want to. As watching isn’t your thing.” Louis gave him another knowing look, but Niall’s brain wasn’t processing. When he looked around the room and really saw the red chequered skirts, brown walls with a chalkboard, and Louis dressed very teacher-like, it clicked. “I… I didn’t mean I would… this wasn’t… aren’t you guys like exclusive?” Or, Harry's co-worker joins in for a roleplay scene.

What happens in Glastonbury, stays in Glastonbury. That's what Louis and Niall had established over the years. It was just sex, nothing more. At least for Louis. Niall on the other hand, has no choice but to fake a show, to get a piece of the love of his life.

Niall spends too much time in his own head, almost breaking his (and Zayn's) heart in the process.

Sometimes, Niall still thinks about the way Zayn’s laugh sounds when they watch TV and Niall makes up fake answers for whatever quiz show they’re watching.

But Niall was convinced that Harry couldn't like him back, that just wouldn't make sense. Both of them couldn't be that oblivious to how the other one felt. …Right? So he did the only logical thing his 17 year old self could think of. He flirted back. OR Three key moments in Niall and Harry's relationship.

Lewis, in retrospect, is correct. Niall won’t do anything about it. He won’t because he’s terrified of getting laughed at, the rejection that sometimes comes with putting your heart and feelings on the line. The last time he did this, with his ex-girlfriend, she laughed in his face and told him to kick rocks. So excuse Niall for not being the one to make the first move.  It’s not that he doesn’t believe that Shawn won’t do anything about it. Well, it is because he doesn’t believe that Shawn won’t do anything about it. Niall knows he’s a desirable man from his time in One Direction. However, he was never that desirable, not according to Simon, at least. Time since the hiatus has made him realize he shouldn’t put his opinions into someone who got pec implants. Niall just doesn’t believe he would ever find a love like he did with Shawn.
