Keep protesting, keep boycotting, and keep talking about Gaza. This headline (from March 27th) would have been unthinkable a few months ago.

Keep calling the war criminals, who decry protest against genocide as antisemitic, as the bald faced liars they are

Once again asking why there was a music festival at the edge of the world's largest open air prison where people were dancing and partying while people were being starved and imprisoned so close to them. How is that a "peaceful" festival.

Literally the one question no one has an answer to. Why were they there. Why did the Israeli government let them have a party there. Out of everywhere in "Israel", why did you have a party near the largest concentration camp as a citizen of an occupying nation.

not to detract from your point, but that is quite literally what happened, and the resemblance is fucking terrifying.

around the time when the 1943 warsaw ghetto uprising began, the nazis set up a merry-go-round right next to the ghetto's walls along with music, and people were dancing, having fun in the pleasant april weather. marek edelman, one of the most prominent leaders of the uprising and a notorious anti-zionist as well as a leftist organizer, in the book "shielding the flame" (which i believe everyone should read as it provides insight into how the ghetto operated and made me realize how uncannily close the sitation looks like modern day gaza), stated that he could hear the music outside, and he could see the happy people, and he was so, so terrified that all that joy outside will drown out their screams for help, the gunshots and the fire.

and i can't help but think about how familiar it sounds now.

It’s really heartening how much people on this site came together to help Ahmed @90-ghost. He’s in Egypt now with his younger brother waiting on his mom and older brother to join them. The issue now is living expenses. Life is extremely difficult for displaced people, and the future is uncertain. If you’ve ever wondered how you can help a Palestinian displaced by the genocide, here’s one way to do so.

A Cry for Safety: The Horrors We Endure

In the shadows of our world, a silent terror lurks, gripping our hearts with fear and uncertainty. Each day unfolds with a sense of foreboding, as we navigate a landscape fraught with danger and despair.

The horrors we endure are not confined to the pages of fiction but are stark realities that plague our existence. From the echoes of violence to the whispers of oppression, our lives are haunted by the specter of fear.

We live in constant vigilance, our senses heightened to the slightest hint of danger. The walls around us may offer a semblance of security, but even they cannot shield us from the palpable dread that hangs in the air.

With each passing moment, our anxiety grows, fueled by the knowledge that we are powerless against the forces that seek to harm us. We are prisoners in our own lives, held captive by the fear that grips our souls.

Yet, amidst the darkness that threatens to engulf us, there remains a glimmer of hope – a flicker of light that refuses to be extinguished. It is a beacon of resilience, calling out to those who would listen, urging them to rise above the shadows and reclaim their sense of safety.

We are not alone in our struggle. Together, we can overcome the horrors that plague us and forge a path towards a brighter tomorrow. But we cannot do it alone.

So I implore you, my fellow travelers in this journey called life, to lend us your strength, your courage, and your support. Help us banish the darkness that surrounds us and create a world where we can live in safety and peace.

Save us from this nightmare, so that we may once again know the warmth of security and the comfort of peace. Together, let us build a future where fear no longer holds sway, and where hope reigns supreme.

genuinely so tired of the male love interest in every m/f romance being the most hugelarge tallman to ever growth spurt. I need to see some women swooning over little five foot five rat dudes who need to be tucked in their gf's pocket lest they blow away like a napkin in the wind.

by far the best part of grocery shopping is the little babies. i was carefully selecting mushrooms when i felt upon me a piercing gaze and looked up to see a very chubby and very red-cheeked baby staring intently at me from a grocery cart with a slightly furrowed brow, hand clutching an apple for dear life. i wiggled a mushroom at her and she gasped and kept staring. i turned back to the mushrooms and heard a shriek. i turned around and the baby stared in anticipation. i wiggled another mushroom and she shrieked again in delight. she looked down at the apple in her hand, considering it for a moment. fair-minded as she was, she decided it would only be right to wiggle produce at me in return, and she held up the apple and shook it with all her might. i think i could live forever now

literally though if you feel like your life is slipping through your fingers and every day goes too fast… try doing hard things, not just taking the easy route, like reading and making art and exercising and cooking a meal from scratch and journaling, doing these things without distraction, without being absorbed on a screen… the time will stretch and you’ll be reminded that life is long and beautiful if you make it so.

let's be super clear: the Enlightened Liberal universities that are calling in swat teams to brutalize their students are the same ones who were "growing and learning" in the wake of blm in 2020. they might have diversity statements and toothless equity councils and whatever the fuck else, but make no mistake, nothing has changed. under pressure, the ugly truth comes out.

A Garden Witch’s Parable

There once was a garden. It was not large and it was not extravagant, but it was green and strong and beautiful. It yielded herbs and vegetables. Though small, it fed the stomach and the heart of the gardener who tended it.

One day, a plague of mites came upon the garden. The infestation spread quickly. The green leaves withered, the proud stalks bent and fell, and in one fell swoop, the garden was nearly destroyed.

The gardener saw this and lamented. So much hard work wasted, so many lovely plants wilted. When the weeding and disposal work was done and the mites were finally eradicated, nearly the entire garden was gone. Only a few plants remained.

For days, the gardener sat and looked at the ravaged garden. The sight of so many empty pots and so much emptiness where there had been greenery and beauty was saddening. The gardener wondered if it was worth trying again so late in the season, if perhaps there was no point.

Then, one fine day, the sun came out and shone on one of the last remaining plants. It was a chili pepper plant which had somehow survived the mites mostly unharmed. The light glowed on the few healthy green leaves left in the garden. Despite everything, the plant was still tall and strong and showed signs of bearing fruit.

The gardener saw this and thought, “Surely if there is one plant, there might one day be more. Surely if this one plant survived, all is not lost.” And so, the gardener got to work. Soil was turned, weeds were cleared, and new seeds were planted.

The gardener sat back and surveyed the scene. There was no new greenery yet. The new seeds would take time to grow. But where before there was fallow dirt and emptiness, the gardener now saw the potential of what could be.

The most important thing is not a lack of failure. It is a refusal to give up. 🌿
