Hey, I’m kinda new to your blog and hoping it’s okay to ask what “all or nothing” is about?

EDIT (31/3/21) - there is also now a sarah z (@dingdongyouarewrong) video on what happened (which i also answered some questions for), so i recommend you check that out as well:

OG POST (24/5/20) - i wouldn’t normally answer ‘all or nothing’ stuff, but it’s occurred to me that this whole thing is now so dang old that a lot of people won’t know about it

(explanation is under a ‘keep reading’ break since this got longer than i anticipated and i don’t want to clog people’s dashboards:)

The real saw trap is reading an incredibly wrong take about your blorbo and seeing that it’s actually very popular

And I’m not even talking about headcanons or creative writing, but misunderstanding the source material so hard that it’s not even the same character anymore

Man this is super random but it's just so fascinating to me that I just came across your blog for the first time since like 2015 (because of that post, yes), and here you are, a random person, a complete stranger, reblogging the exact same shit I am reblogging on my blog

This really feels like the essence of tumblr. No matter what path we take we all end up back on this side at the end of the day blogging about the latest tumblr obsession (dunmeshi)

i am a fandom blogger/reblogger first, person second and tumblr celebrity third

Honestly? It's nice that you're still around. So many disappear from the internet without a trace. But you didn't. You're still someone's beloved mutual. Someone who left tumblr years ago can still come back to find you again, reconnect again. In a weird way, you might be someone's home to return to.

i am the local corner shop that everyone assumes went out of business years ago but is still around, peddling my fandom wares, and will only shut down once they demolish the building

This is not an ask, just more of an observation/comment. I've noticed that your profile icon is Johnny from Sing and you are bi-ace. I am also a bi-ace that loves Johnny from Sing and I know three other bi-ace people that specifically write about Johnny from Sing. I just appreciate that a lot of bi-ace people have all taken a look at this singing animated monkey boy and agreed that he's great.

there's just something about that funky lil gorilla boy...

"I could be really brash and really loud and really dressed however I wanted to and almost made [Chappell] on purpose a drag version of myself so I can be whatever I want. It allows me to feel really safe exploring those aspects of myself. I’d never be able to do that if I took myself super seriously with pop. I think that the project has allowed me to be a part of the queer community in a deeper way because I'm not observing from the outside anymore. I feel like I'm in it. I am the queer community–it's allowed me to just feel queer, feel like a queer person and feel freedom in that."
