it always felt like, yeah ur backstory was sad and u cant compare trauma (with some glaring exception) irl but idk man, what ur family did to the main trio and what u continued to do them is like. just worse than that, and i dont like how the narrative equivocates it

#aangs entire culture was decimated and katara + sokkas was nearly there too#i have an abusive parent too (obv not to that degree but) and i dont think his family issues are equivalent#i am a hater and i know i will be alone in this to the day i due

Twitter Localization Discoursist: as you can see, the meaning of this line was COMPLETELY lost in translation. Until I read this, I had NO IDEA that King Avaricean was supposed to be greedy

#jrpg fans specifically love this#i think its bc there is SO much dialogue they can usually find like (1) instance the localization is worse#and they then pretend thats the whole thing just to like be weird about japan in a fetishy way

i couldnt watch all of it bc the only version online for free is super crunchy but its Good

very hallmark-y (its a hallmark flick, so ofc shshs), do its a bit more sappy than the 90s movie, but thats okay, i think its well done in that capacity

i know its been over a year and its time to be excited about the new batch but here i am, still messed up about the amount of detail that went into making these two match up

just the fact that they exist together would have been technically enough but they gave them shared crit quotes, shared voicelines, matching homescreen lines, references in their art, AND they reference each other in a lot when they talk

like, i love them sm…..

thinking about the poll about canon vs non-canon ships that didn't define terms, and the current fandom focus on things "going canon," so i made up a scale.

this is NOT a question about whether canon matters to what you ship (or matters at all), just how to define the phrase "canon ship."

many ships start low on the scale and slow burn their way up, so vote for the point when you would have called them "canon." i agonized over the order (especially #4-6) for a day and a half, but i went with the order in which i think joe random with a nielsen ratings box and no tumblr account would notice/call something a romantic relationship.

#6 bc there is a timeline where its canon within the canon dhdbs#and it often implies u were Supposed to think of it like that even if its not endgame
