I hate the “open floor plan” that everyone is obsessed with in houses now. I want nooks and crannies and bizarre floor plans. I don’t need to be able to see what someone is doing on the other side of the house. I want places to hide and lurk and dwell in the shadows. I am the beast who awaits in the labyrinth

we need to have a conversation around white peoples inherent belief that poc are more backwards and bigoted than white people

to this day you'll find several people that wholeheartedly believe that colonization, while "not good" did still help "improve" the world. you'll find a not insignificant amount of 'progressive' white people that accept, for example, immigration, with open arms. but, or rather because, instead of regarding immigrants as people forced out of their home and culture, often times by the hands of western powers (usamerica's many international interventions, wars, invasions, israel even, or even more 'indirect' involvements, isis being the result of usamerica's invasion). they oftentimes see it as, again, "not a good thing", but, 'just think of those women who escaped the evil and misogynistic third world', 'think of the freedom those lgbt immigrants will now be able to access for the small price of their homeland and culture!' and on the other side of the same racist coin, there's those white people who heavily dislike immigration, not because of its implications on the general state of the world (that while some countries experience peace and enjoy stability, others are unlivable), but because 'those uneducated monsters and bigots and dangerous uncivilized people are going to threaten our white society! they simply don't know how to live in a civilized world!'

the second does not surprise me, the first however. well it still doesn't surprise me, but it does sadden me. i am aware it's propaganda at work but it saddens me that even those who welcome immigrants, feel the need to outwardly 'justify' it because immigrants enrich culture, and bring hard work and look for a better life. and inwardly as well, to themselves they also 'justify' it or rather 'celebrate' it because these formerly uncivilized individuals now have the chance to enjoy society and civilization. which doesn't allow them to question if said immigrants wanted to leave (some do), would have left under different circumstances (most don't). or maybe even if the cost of 'civilizing' the white western world was much too high. wonder even if the 'progress' they enjoy wasn't paid for by the blood and suffering of those 'backwards people of the uncivilized corners of the world'.

it's almost like global south's reality is some sort of aesthetic concept for white people.

It's almost like that's the basis for orientalism.

idk if people realize that is possible to boycott a company but still be excited for comebacks 😭 like just bc we are excited for new music it doesn’t mean we are gonna stream it like nothing happened or suddenly buy the albums that would be genuine hypocrisy

this honestly shows that people don’t actually enjoy music and think there’s only one way to do it (stream it and buy the albums) before streaming people would download music from youtube or other sites and enjoy it like that! there was actual discussion about music. there wasn’t this thing where an album comes out and after a week people want to move on to the next thing! i hope with the boycotts we realize that there are better ways to enjoy music people need to change their perspective on this and i think that other than talking about how we have zionists in these places we should also question how this industry is ruining the way people are supposed to enjoy music

emergency funds needed

i really hate to ask for this but my family is in need of money :( my family are going from paycheck to paycheck for all of our bills. we cannot rely on my dad since he officially decided to abandon us, and my aunt's have conflict with my mom so it's really just us. we need money for rent, food, my brother's education (he's in grade 9), my dog, and everything else in general. i have a stable job but it's still very low income and everything ends up going to my contributions for my family huhu. i would appreciate any help if you can, thank you.
