I absolutely love this direct parallel. Thundercracker is always such an interesting character when he's portrayed like this - he's loyal to the Decepticon cause, but not interested in wanton destruction and death the way many other Decepticons are. He pities small weak things and finds no entertainment or honour in killing them unless he absolutely has to.

It's going to be fun seeing how his reluctance to kill for the crime of being small affects his relationships with some of the most brutal Decepticons we've seen.

AU where Bumblebee and Cliffjumper are tight like the Lambo twins or Rumble and Frenzy, but then one day it turns out Cliff is a double-agent for the 'Cons and he ends up abandoning Bee during a crucial time (leaving him for dead)........ yes bitches I'm saying we pull a Scar reveal-- the drama!!

I know, I know, some of you are gonna be like-- my son Cliffjumper would NEVER-- but here me out:

I just think it would be neat, the end.

Yessssss all of this! Especially fun to imagine he betrays him towards the end of a movie/chapter/episode/whatever then later in the story they have a 1v1 faceoff like:

Bumblebee: Go on ahead guys... I've got this.
Cliffjumper: Aw, is that any way to greet an old friend?
Bumblebee: You know only one of us is walking out of here...
Cliffjumper: Yeah. And it's gonna be me.

Yesssss! Honestly I mostly saw the latter scenario... like that classic anime betrayal where Cliff is all:

Cliffjumper: Finally. It feels like forever since I set out on this mission... of course, I don't think any of us thought the war would drag on for this long.
Cliffjumper: The only way I managed to get through it was to remind myself to act the opposite of how I really felt.
Cliffjumper: Every handshake or hug, I'd picture tossing you into a smelter. When we laughed together, I wanted to scream.
Cliffjumper: Because the truth is-- I actually hate all your lousy Autobot guts.

👍 yeah!

If Cliffjumper does die in his battle against Bumblebee, the emotional aftermath of that for Bee would definitely be hard on him. I think Bee would still end up mourning the loss of... well, not the decepticon Cliffjumper, but the Cliffjumper that he knew for all those years even if it was just a lie. In a way, he actually has lost a friend. And it was a friend that he had to kill with his own two hands.
