An overview of all my work! Mostly Fluff and Humour, a bit of Angst, and lots of Get-Togethers!

I hope you'll enjoy, and it would be great to hear your feedback. If you want to talk about a fic, or anything really, I'd love it if you'd send a message!

Oneshots: Crush Confessions Series

Being handsome, smart and successful, Remus has his choice of men. So he's allowed to have standards, right? And he has a type, namely confident and intelligent men who know what they are doing. Unfortunately, Sirius Black, easy on the eyes as he might be, is none of those things. Or so Remus thought. (Humour, 4102 words)

For a simple farm-boy like Remus to end up with the legendarily handsome Prince Sirius of the House of Black of the city of Grimmauld, nothing less than devine intervention would be needed. Luckily for Remus, the gods like nothing more than to meddle in the affairs of mortals... (Fluff, 2240 words)

Remus doesn't think Sirius has anything to prove, but if he wants to run a marathon, then Remus is sure as hell going to support him every step of the way. But the charming and flirtatious trainer who clearly has a thing for Sirius, is making it all a whole lot harder. (Hurt/Comfort, 2221 words)

When he was just a child, Prince Sirius was made to vow that he would never fall in love with someone of impure blood. Little did he know at that age that love isn't always a choice, that love is something that can just happen to you. And when it does happen to Sirius, the consequences of breaking that vow are grave. (Angst With a Happy Ending, 5241 words)

28th: Dogwalker AU

673 words

Some good old mutual pining between a dogwalker and his client!

Date My Hooman?

“Has he been a good boy?” Sirius is sitting on his knees, scratching Padfoot’s ears (and making quite the sight while doing so).

Remus crosses his arms over his chest. “Now you're just fishing for compliments. You know damn well Padfoot’s always a good boy.”

Sirius grins up at him. “Guilty as charged.” He looks back at Padfoot who's thoroughly enjoying his ear scratches. “I know my dog is great, but I love hearing other people tell me that my dog is great also.”

“Right you are,” Remus chuckles. “How was your day at the office?”

“Dreadfully dull,” Sirius replies instantly. “Really, Remus, you made some good career choices that you now get to play with dogs all day.”

“Well, I don't get to live in a house like that.” Remus nods towards Sirius’ three-story mansion with the sprawling garden around it.

Sirius winks at him as he gets up to his feet. “Maybe if you play your cards right.”

Remus can feel his cheeks heating up.

Before, he was just amused by Sirius’ flirtatious banter, and he actually gave it as good as he got. But now, he suddenly feels flustered, at a loss for words, and wholly out of his depth whenever Sirius makes a comment like that.

After long conversations, with Sirius being the last stop on Remus’ afternoon route, and being subjected to Sirius’ sharp mind and disarming sense of humour, things have changed for Remus.

He used to think that the best part of his day would always be seeing the excitement on a dog’s face when he reaches out to unclip their leash to let them run around the park and play with their friends, but now, it's like nothing compares to seeing the excitement on Sirius’ face at the end of the day as he crouches down to greet his beloved dog after long hours the office. Remus’ days have started to revolve around the moments he brings Padfoot home, and it's becoming A Problem.

“And that's not even taking into account cold, rain, new regulations, demanding clients,” Remus continues, as if he didn't hear Sirius’ last comment.

Then Remus’ own dog, Moony, dashes forward and starts licking a tail-wagging Padfoot’s face, like he knows he has to say goodbye to his friend for now, and Remus’ heart just melts. “Oh, who am I kidding? It's bloody amazing.”

When the dogs have said their goodbyes, it's time for their owners to do so as well.

“See you tomorrow?” Sirius asks.

“Of course.”

“Great.” Sirius beams at him. “Looking forward to it.”

Remus’ heart skips a beat at those words. Yes, definitely A Problem.

Sirius has given Remus the key to the annex besides the main house, so he can pick up Padfoot, take him for a long walk, and then, by the time they return, Sirius will be back from the office and usually already waiting on them.

Sirius has actually turned the annex into a space especially for Padfoot, with water and food, several dog beds, toys, and a dog door, so he can go in and out to the yard whenever he wants. Sirius has even hung framed pictures on the walls of him and Padfoot together. A fuzzy feeling spreads across Remus’ chest upon seeing those pictures. A Problem indeed.

Padfoot immediately comes running, happily wagging his tail, brimming with excitement to go on his walk.

“Calm down, Pads,” Remus laughs, as the dog keeps circling his legs and jumping up and down. “Come on, I need to attach your leash, otherwise we can't go. Hey, what you've got there, buddy?” He spots a piece of paper neatly tucked underneath Padfoot’s collar and he plucks it out. As he unfolds it, he realizes it's a note.

And as he reads, a huge smile starts to spread across Remus’ face.

Dear Remus,

You might have noticed that my hooman has quite a crush on you.

Will you please save me from his desperate pining, and let my hooman take you out on a date?

Sirius Black's emotional break-up songs are topping the charts all over the world. But hearing those songs everywhere he goes, Remus is about to reach his breaking point.

With His Song

Home is where the heart is,

But it's not the concrete, nor the stone,

Not the room you sit in,

But the smile that lights it up.

Not the bed you sleep in,

But the heartbeat besides your own.

Home is where the heart is,

But it's not necessarily a place,

Sometimes, it's tracing the scars on someone's hand,

Sometimes, it's counting the freckles on someone's face.

It's been so long,

Coming home to you,

And did you know,

I could easily move on?

But the truth is,

I just don't want to.

If home is where the heart is,

Then baby, could it be,

That your home is still with me?

Mary lets out a sigh that seems to be coming from somewhere deep inside of her. “My god, I'm going to listen to that song on repeat for the rest of the week,” and after a moment she adds “potentially the rest of my life.”

“Then you're gonna have to get some headphones,” Remus says. “Because I'm already getting sick of hearing it.”

Mary gasps and clutches her chest. “Blasphemy!”

Remus gives her an unimpressed look. “I don't think you're using that word right.”

“‘Irreverence toward something considered sacred or inviolable’,” Mary states unfazed. “So yes, the perfect description of you insulting Sirius Black's music.”

Emmeline nods emphatically.

Remus sighs. “I'm not saying it's a bad song,” he says. “Just that I'm getting tired of hearing it everywhere, all the time.”

Since I write Harry Potter fanfiction and haven't said this before, I just want to make it clear that I do not support JK Rowling.

The way she is targeting an already marginalised community by spreading a false narrative and creating unwarranted fear is disgusting and dangerous. She is purposely stirring up hatred against a vulnerable community, painting a misleading picture by propagating non-existent dangers to incite fear. This is hurting a lot of people and making their lives unnecessarily harder.

@wolfstarmicrofic : Avada Kedavra

915 words

Angst, Major Character Death

Remus' mind is playing cruel tricks on him in an attempt to deter him from his path to self-destruction.

Shards

Strange, that is. By now, the spell comes as easy to him as Expelliarmus or Patrificus Totalis. Accessing that part deep inside of him he once didn't know he had (or maybe he actually didn't have before) has become second nature to him, and he can cast the spell almost without thinking:

Avada Kedavra

Yet, he washes his hands every time he has used it. Which doesn't make sense. Literally speaking, there's no blood on his hands, and figuratively speaking, he doesn't want to wash it off. He wants to be responsible for their deaths, he wants their blood on his hands.

Perhaps it's just a silly habit he really should break, Remus thinks as he turns off the tap.

“Or perhaps it's a final sign that you still possess some humanity.”

Sirius is sitting on the kitchen counter to his right, looking at Remus with a frown.

Remus ignores him like he usually tries to do. He opens one of the kitchen cabinets of the small and dingy kitchen block in the equally small and dingy flat he's currently using as his base, and as he reaches out to grab a glass, his hand trembles.

“You're exhausted,” Sirius says.

“And you're dead,” Remus snaps though he immediately regrets it.

“Yes,” Sirius says dryly, sliding off the kitchen counter. “And the fact that you're seeing me and talking to me just proves my point of how exhausted you are.”

New Chapter: We'll always have Paris

“It’s not even that you told him,” Sirius interrupts. “It’s how... when you felt like you had to explain yourself for being with me, that explanation wasn’t ‘I love him’, or ‘he’s a good person’, it was ‘he’s dying’. I don’t want that to be the reason you’re with me. I know it’s not. I know that you love me, but...”

“I do love you, Sirius,” Remus says. “And you’re right, that should be all the explanation ever needed. No, scratch that, there’s no explanation needed! I don’t need to explain myself for being with you, because bloody look at you. You’re so great, and I’m damn proud of being with you. I want to shout it off the rooftops that I get to be with someone as wonderful as you, no explanation needed, how many naps you take or what time you go to bed be damned.” He shakes his head. “It wasn’t that I told him because I wanted to provide some justification for being with you, Sirius. I told him because I was angry. Angry that that guy dared judge you for something as trivial as you needing rest, like that would in any way reduce what an absolutely brilliant person you are. Like the fact that your body can no longer keep up with your lively spirit would take away from you as a person...” Remus can feel the anger take hold of him all over again and he needs to take a calming breath to steady himself. “I was angry,” he states. “And I wanted to make him feel like shite. That was all I thought about, making this guy feel bad about himself, and I knew that telling him would make him realize what an arse he was being.”

‘Remus Lupin has no ill-intentions, he's just dumb and naïeve, which you can't blame him for, considering his menial upbringing’. ” Mary lowers the newspaper with Orion Black's latest column and shakes her head. “Good lord. I mean, I know Orion Black ardently opposes every politician who tries to take power away from him and his rich friends, but when it comes to Remus, I've always gotten the sense that it's somehow… extra personal.”

“That's because he knows I mean it,” Remus says, as he looks up from the speech he's writing. “He knows I'm not going to stop before the poor have as many rights and opportunities as the rich. He knows I'm coming for him and that I can't be bought.” Remus is standing now and clenching one fist. “Throwing some money at it won't save him this time. I have a vision and mission, and he is right to fear me!”

Mary stairs at him in admiration, feeling proud to be a member of his campaign team.

Lily, however, raises an eyebrow and gives Remus a pointed look.

“Oh,” Remus says, smiling sheepishly and scratching the back of his head. “Right. And I'm also shagging his son.”

Warning: Injury

James is not going to sit there as Remus wakes up in the Hospital Wing and explain to him why Sirius isn't there. He can't.

Hold On

“No, no, no, no,” James lets himself fall to the ground next to the bundle lying on the muddy forest floor. “Pads? Padfoot, can you hear me?”

There's no response.

James places his arm behind Sirius’ neck and carefully lifts his head. His other hand he places in Sirius’ neck, searching for a pulse, which thank Godric, he finds, but weak, so weak. “Sirius? Sirius!”

Sirius’ eyes open and he seems aware of James’ presence as he tries to say something, but only a pained groan comes out, before his eyes fall shut again.

Panic rises in James’ chest as he scrambles for his wand, muttering what little Healing Spells he knows.

“I heard the younglings talk this morning.” Firenze looks down at James. “How they spotted a dark hound the size of an Erumpent roaming the forest, thinking it to be a dark creature, or even a Grimm, rumored to bring ill tidings. So they fired their arrows at the creature. When I came to investigate this morning, I found him.”

In my head, Sirius will make it and it has a happy ending, but feel free to imagine any ending you like.

When Remus let James Potter set him up on a date with his best friend, Lily had hoped that at least he would find out dating really isn't that terrible, and finally start allowing Lily to set him up on dates as well.

Not Sorry

Lily stumbles a little as she walks over to Remus, because damn those bloody heels.

Remus turns towards her from where he's standing at the bar and arches an eyebrow. “Lils, you might want to go easy on the wine.”

Which is ridiculous. Lily has only had three glasses. And some champagne before that. And maybe a cocktail at some point.

“Don't change the topic!” Lily says, even though they hadn't actually been talking yet. She jabs her finger at Remus’ chest. “I'm still mad at you!”

“Oh, come on, Lils," Remus chuckles. “You're going to have to get over it at some point.”

“We had a deal, Lupin!”

“I know, Lily, but-”

“A deal! All I ever wanted was to get you this fun and exciting dating life,” Lily sighs wistfully. “So you could have handsome men take you out and boost your ego like you deserve, and we could share dating stories and laugh about weird guys together. But did you allow me to set you up on a date ever?”

“I did not,” Remus admits.

“You did not!” Lily exclaims, as if Remus didn't already just admit to that. “It was all ‘No, Lily, I'm just the sort of person who's better off by himself’, ‘No, Lily, I'm not looking for anything’, ‘No, Lily, I'm too independent and need my alone time’, and yadda yadda.” She rolls her eyes. “But then what happened? You allowed your new coworker to set you up on a date with his best friend!”

Next, she'll be complaining about 'Stupid Potter, being too much of a bloody gentleman to go home with her while she's been drinking, being all bloody caring and shite'.

mother fuck, while doing research for my james potter essay for @annabtg, I came across THIS quote:

Madam Rosmerta: “Of all the people to go over to the Dark Side, Sirius Black was the last I’d have thought … I mean, I remember him when he was a boy at Hogwarts. If you’d told me what he was going to become, I’d have said you’d had too much mead.”

Sirius Black was, even to someone who barely knew him, SUCH a deeply good person that he was the last person you'd have thought would become a death eater. THE LAST PERSON. Not the loyal, Gryffindor-bred James Potter, not quiet Prefect Remus Lupin, SIRIUS FUCKING BLACK, the firstborn son of a blood supremacist family with several family members who actively served Voldemort.

Young Sirius Black was so full of goodness that if someone said he was going to be a death eater, Rosmerta would have thought they must be drunk.

And Remus and McGonagall and Dumbledore and everyone else who knew him so much better let him go to Azkaban without a trial, never tried to get him out, never gave this boy the benefit of the doubt.

And then what did he do when he broke himself out of Azkaban? He forgave Remus in an instant. He rejoined the Order. He trusted Dumbledore enough to willingly stay locked up again. He handed his house over to be used for the Order, welcomed people to come and go as they pleased, to stay long-term if they needed -- even Snape, who had recently been eager to have him killed. And in a matter of two years, showed Harry more parental love and support than anyone had before -- to the point of dying for him, exactly as his parents did.

So when you actually look at canon Sirius, I think it's very clear why he was the last person you'd expect.

@wolfstarmicrofic 12th & 27th: question & answer

369 words

Remus doesn't get along with any of the dates Sirius brings along, but perhaps the problem is him.

Sirius steps into the room, closes the door behind him and leans back against it, pinching the bridge of his nose.

“So, how did it go?” Remus asks anxiously.

Sirius lowers his hand and looks up. “He says he's not gonna put up with this shite. So I guess that's over.”

Remus winches. “Shite, I'm sorry, Sirius.”

Sirius shakes his head as he walks further into the room. “Well, I wasn't expecting it to be a long term thing anyway.” He sits down on the couch next to Remus and sighs, turning to look at him. “Rem, what the hell was that? You were coming at him all evening, picking a fight over everything.”

Remus fumbles awkwardly with the hem of his sleeves. “I mean, we had some disagreements...”

“You practically started yelling at him when he picked Grüner Veltliner over Cabernet Sauvignon.”

“I just didn't think it was the best choice!”

“Remus, his father is a sommelier!”

“What, so his opinion is the only one that matters?”

“You don't even drink wine!”

“That doesn't mean I can't appreciate-”

“Remus.”

“Yes, yes, you're right,” Remus says, squeezing his shut. “I'm really fucking sorry, Sirius. I didn't mean to ruin it for you. You have every right to hate me.”

“I know I have the right,” Sirius says pointedly. But then he smiles. “What I lack is the capability.” He opens his arms, and, with a relieved smile, Remus moves towards him, curling up against him and resting his head on his shoulder, with Sirius’ arms closing around him.

“And besides,” Sirius continues. “At least you didn't make this one cry.”

“Right,” Remus grins. “I'd say I'm improving.”

Sirius has to ask the question, though. “What is your problem with the dates I bring along anyway?”

Remus speaks so quietly when he gives his answer, as if he's not sure whether he wants Sirius to actually hear him.

“They're not me.”

Sirius takes in a sharp breath. Remus doesn't dare to look at him. At least Sirius doesn't break the embrace and his arms remain wrapped around Remus, which Remus draws some hope from.

“Well,” Sirius says after a moment of silence. “Then it seems we have a similar problem.”
