🍂🍁🍵 FANGIRL is getting a manga adaptation by VIZ MEDIA! 🍵🍁🍂 With writer @sammaggs and artist Gabi Nam. (Viz is doing it RIGHT.) It will be four volumes, and the first comes out in October. If you’re a Fangirl fan, I think you’re really going to love this manga. Viz is sticking to the original vibe of the book. It’s a very faithful adaptation. I’m working closely with Sam on the script – I’ve written lots of new dialogue and even some NEW SIMON AND BAZ STUFF. Sam and Gabi are both incredibly talented. (Sam literally wrote The Fangirl’s Guide to Galaxy.)

I just want to clarify that the Simon/Baz scenes will be different in the manga. Some of them will be from the novel. Some will be totally new and different.

In an adaptation like this, you end up DISTILLING the story. Even a four-volume manga will end up just a fraction of a novel.

So we looked at what things in Fangirl were essential …

And sometimes we realized we needed to tell the story in a totally new way.

So you will get some new Simon/Baz; some Simon/Snow scenes from the novel; some scenes that have been distilled into panels…

All of the Simon/Baz is different from Carry On and Wayward Son.

The Simon/Baz in Fangirl is through Gemma Leslie’s lens or through Cath’s. It’s a different vibe!

Sometimes I get inspiration from weird random thoughts that pop into my mind - in this case Taylor Swift (or a random lookalike pop star if you want, it doesn’t matter) revealing herself as a reptilian illuminati agent.

Bad News.

If you haven’t noticed, a lot of twitter fan sites are shutting down. Declaring REST and even STOP. Fansites like Mellow Mayb, 우주호시 (@wouldyouhoshi), STARRY NIGHT and other influential fan sites have declared REST or STOP. 

This is their way of protesting PLEDIS’ Treatment towards SEVENTEEN. Reportedly, fansites have also decided to boycott the Going Seventeen Album as part of this protest. Apparently, this was supposed to happen earlier on and as to distract the Carats they had released the MV “early” but as we had seen, the release was rather late, even past midnight KST. It’s assumed that the “early release” announcement and it’s late released had been planned.

 Fansites have also declared how they’d label PLEDIS to be cowards if they use the boys to apologize in their behalf because if anyone has to apologize it has to be the staff.
