the fact that tangled has a perfect set-up for major miscommunication between rapunzel and eugene to be the final emotional climax of the movie (“why’d you leave me”) but instead sidesteps that in favor of a beautiful battle between the two of them in which they try to out-sacrifice each other because they love and understand each other that much. the fact that they each try to save the other using the best means they’ve got at their disposal, the ones they’ve used their whole lives: rapunzel bargaining with mother gothel and promising away pieces of herself- this time all of herself- in exchange for his safety, Eugene pulling one final scam and trick when he feigns tenderly touching her face so he can actually cut off all her hair and set her free. the fact that Eugene’s plan works but as a result he dies, Flynn dies. (he told us this at the beginning, “this is the story of how I died” but remember- it’s a fun story.) The fact that the swashbuckling rogue and trickster and thief Flynn DIES so that rapunzel, the girl who never got to have a life, can LIVE. The fact that after one final successful trick Flynn dies so Eugene, little lost orphan boy, can rise again in his final and only role as a good man and as rapunzel’s husband- all of these make tangled the masterpiece it is. in this essay I will

I know this is like extremely depressing lol but when I look at people I would consider dating/marrying, 1 of the “litmus tests” I have for myself is the answer to this question: “if this marriage were to fall apart, could I see myself coparenting successfully with this person?”
There’s some people who are very petty and this is my first thought, just genuinely “if I married this person and we ended up divorcing, could I trust this person to provide our kids with a positive environment on their own/with a new partner, can I trust this person to raise these kids without trying to retailiate against me, could this person be trusted to watch out for the best interests of our children even if it included something he didn’t want to do” & let me tell u… so many people become unattractive when u get the answers to those questions

The biggest indicator that life isn’t fair is remembering that all Japanese snow monkeys have to do is sit in hot springs and chill out. They don’t have essays. They don’t have politicians.
They have class hierarchy tho only the elite snow monkeys are allowed in the hot springs and the rest are forced to suffer the cold. They’re born into their class, and they die in the same class

Introduction
Hey everyone!
This might be a bit of a surprise as we’ve been quiet about the writing side of things, but… we are officially recruiting 1-2 co-writers for Lads in Distress, a free otome visual novel based on fairy tales!
Long story short, Windchimes is currently the only writer of the game after Lily left. Although 3 out of 5 routes have been fully completed, it has been difficult for her to make progress on the other 2 routes when last semester of law school and freelance work to feed herself have to come first. So here we are, seeking help in hopes that the development on Lads in Distress will be sped up.

Recruitment Information
- Position Available: 1-2 co-writers
- Type: Unpaid position
- Lads in Distress is a free-to-play game. It is basically a labor of love, so unfortunately, we have no budget to commission work. None of us in the team has received any payment or profit from this either.
- We will, of course, credit you in game for your work, and our eternal gratitude.
- Application Deadline: 3 weeks from now — Apr 28, 2019
- Tasks: Rewrite Mer’s route, write Ellis’ route
- Overall plot and outline already decided, but will allow for creative freedom with details. Would need to work closely with Windchimes to account for story and character consistency, as well as availability of art assets.
- Approximately 50k words per route, so 100k words total for 2 routes.
- Need to be able to write choices, branches and multiple endings.
- Style: The closer to the current writing style of the game, the better.
- However, Windchimes will do final edits for Mer and Ellis’ routes for style consistency, so it’s fine if your style differs.
- Work Deadline: None
- Feel free to work on your own pace as long as you give regular updates
- Required communication method: Discord
- Prior experience: None required
- Bonus if you’ve worked with writing scripts for Ren’Py visual novels before, but not necessary. Windchimes will teach you how to write in the correct script format

We are excited to reveal the title screen art of our otome game, Reanimation Scheme! It will be slightly modified for the title screen to accommodate the main menu buttons, but this is the original piece, which will also double as our first piece of official promotional art.
