Radlibs and Western "leftists" are already reenacting the Hong Kong protest era fetishization of occupation strategies and outsmarting the police with DIY tactics wrt the student movement and I really hope people can try to not lose the plot and remember what the purpose of these campus occupations are (or should be), and that's getting universities to divest from the Zionist entity, including divesting from Israeli companies and weapons manufacturers as well as ending partnerships with Israeli universities, and stand in solidarity with *Palestine* - not Columbia or NYU. Please do not let the adventurism overshadow what the strategic goals of the student movement need to be.
Also can't stress enough how much you should not be getting your organizing tactics ESPECIALLY FOR DIRECT CONFRONTATION WITH THE POLICE from Instagram infographics and such. Apart from the fact such infographics and social media posts will inevitably be rife with disinformation (either intentional or not), there is no one size fits all strategy for high risk organizing. These are strategies that need to be developed communally and on a case-by-case basis depending upon the level of campus militarization and aggression from administration. Do not start occupying buildings and building barricades just because you saw them do it at Humboldt. Do not risk arrest if there is a way to retain significant pressure against the university without doing so. Know your university's rules and codes of conduct and relationship with the police. Be smart.
The students seem to be showing pretty good media discipline so far. They apparently had a dedicated media person and everyone else refused to talk to reporters.
