Charlie Hadley Emerson - 25 - Engaged
Name is Charlotte Hadley Emerson. Call me Charlie. I spent over a year in a rehab center called Second Hope, where I met the love of my life. We're finally free and ready to start a life together.

Puppy: I don't know which part of that to ask about first.
Puppy: When are you getting married?
Charlie: Well, you know I'm adopted. My half brother was a surprise but I knew it was possible. The mental rehabilitation place thing... I mean, I'd been mute since we were kids, by the time I moved to New York for uni I was barely sleeping. Then I WASN'T sleeping. That led to hallucinations, I ended up homeless... it was bound to happen.
Charlie: Any other questions?
Charlie: I still have no idea... I really need to sit Dani down and figure that out.

Puppy: Oh? I just sort of... went looking for you and found him instead. Is he not supposed to have your number?
Puppy: I'm really happy for you. Sounds like she's pretty perfect for you.
Charlie: No, no, he is. It's just... odd, I guess. Then again, no odder than finding my biological half brother in a mental rehabilitation place in PA...
Charlie: Thank you and she is.

Puppy: I was back home for a bit, just checking in on my mum. It got me thinking about you, and I wondered how you were doing.
Puppy: Fiancee? Congratulations.
Charlie: Though, that doesn't quite answer how my older brother managed to get you my number... Then again, I've learned to not put anything past him.
Charlie: Yes, and thank you. Been together 3 years now? I think. I don't know, I sometimes feel like I've known her my entire life.

Puppy: It was, but I can totally lose it if you don't want to hear from me. This probably isn't the most ideal way to say hello to someone.
Charlie: No, no, it's fine. I'm sure he meant well, and I know you did.
Charlie: Besides, had you called I think you might have been less likely to believe you reached the right person.
Charlie: Though, if I thought explaining my childhood to my fiancee was awkward before...

Ri: I've realized that I was a ghost even as a child, though it never occurred to me until my relationship with Gethin. I guess the question is, "Who am I now?"
Charlie: I feel that. I mean, we don't have to figure it out right away, though sooner rather than later would be appreciated.
Charlie: Speaking of childhood... I just got a text from a guy I grew up with...

Puppy: If this isn't Charlie Emerson, sorry to bother you. I'm looking for someone I went to school with a very long time ago, and this is the number I was given.
Puppy: If it is you, it's Michael Young? Or Puppy maybe. If you remember me at all, it might be with that name.
Charlie: Puppy?
Charlie: How did you get my number? Wait... this is a US number... It was Greg, wasn't it?
Charlie: For fucks sake...

Ri: Everything runs together for me now. Hard to recall who left and who arrived at various times, but she was at Second Hope while Niamh, Sky and I were still there. Positively lovely, and I think she and Sky have hit it off.
Ri: Niamh is heavier than she looks.
Charlie: I feel that. Honestly, she might have been there near the end but if she was, I was too focused on getting out. It's nice to hear he's possibly found someone, though.
Charlie: I can imagine so.

Ri: You can develop my photographs for me. That's what I've been doing... developing shots I took for fun, mostly. Niamh and Sky and abandoned places. Sky looks positively delicious in his.
Ri: If I go quiet on you, it's because I'm carrying a tiny ginger home on my back.
Ri: Are the meds not working anymore for you?
Charlie: Does he now? How is he? I haven't talked to him all that much.
Charlie: Fair enough.
Charlie: I don't know. I take them and they work but my brain manages to override them.
