Rambling AGAIN

Currently OBSESSED with the idea of Cybird MCs who just… aren’t the MCs.

Like, one of the main staples of the game is that MC/you are dragged into a totally different world, whether literally like IkeSen, IkeRev or IkeVamp or figuratively like in MidCin or IkePri and like, that’s done for a reason but it does mean that you either have a specific role to play (MidCin’s princess select, Alice, Belle) or they’re all there for a reason and you’re a hanger-on (IkeSen, IkeVamp) and I wanna read about MCs who are already part of that world.

Like an IkeRev fic where the MC is a member of the Chosen 13, or an IkeVamp fic where MC was brought back by Vlad instead of le Comte for whatever nefarious reason, or she’s a pureblood vampire who knew Vlad and Comte ‘before’.

Does anyone have any fics like that?

Has anyone experienced Leonardo’s and Vincent’s fourth wall break? I googled everything I could about it and I don’t see a single thing posted about it.

Background on me(relevant for Vincent’s part): I’m an editor so I was saving the photos for edits now onto the story.

this is pre Covid so a lot is paraphrased but please hear me out I never got over this + Vincent’s incident scared me away from the game for good.

Leonardo’s:

On my second run through of Leo’s route I was basically skimming through because I wanted the new photos and diamonds/whatever currency they gave and I got to the ballroom chapter and I loved that chapter so I was sorta skipping and skimming when I realized Leo was saying new and weird things

Very paraphrased but basically my dialogue option was “I hope this moment can last forever “ he replies “I hope it doesn’t, because if we relive the same memory over and over again it’ll get stale” sounds pretty basic until the background around his sprite went black. Then like he was directly talking to ME THE PLAYER was implying that I couldn’t keep playing this/the game repeatedly because it has to end sometime like for my own good.

I don’t remember much after that mainly because it was mad late and I was STUNNED speechless.

Vincent’s:

This is the reason I stopped playing this game.

This was when Vincent’s route was about to come out, I was very excited to play his route I was watching the trailer and looking everywhere to learn more about him and I found something like “equip x characters power(?)” *Im really sad I can’t fully remember this part but it was like a gatcha mini game where you could choose a power that was related to the character

I got Jeans, issacs, and I want to say Vincent’s. I think I equipped Jeans power because I absolutely loved his character design & personality but either way it had something to do with a characters eye? Okay}

I played his little sneak peek and it was going GREAT until it cut to the scene where he had something that looked like blood (probably red paint) on his face and he started saying “you’re mine right…?” Like yandere shit

THEN continuing onwards we were in a garden and normal dialogue and his background goes black “you did something wrong, and you’re going to fix it” I wish I screen recorded this shit y’all cause I know mfs aren’t going to believe me “tomorrow you’re going to log back on and re agree to the terms and conditions at 12:00 Japanese time” his background is still black, my game crashes I’m traumatized, I re open the game and it says “come back at 12:00 Japanese time and accept the terms of service” I close the app and delete it.

I don’t think I’ve ever been scared like that in my entire fucking life, I went from playing a sneak peek of a cute vampire boys route to detailed and direct instructions on how to not mess up my second chance. I was genuinely terrified I’m about to piss my self from laughing looking back on it but that scared me away from otome games for 2 years.

The worst part is nobody has said a word about this happening to them, I hope I dreamed this because I actually love IkemenVampire, one of the best otomes out there. Imagine this happening to you when you’re barely 15 at an ungodly hour at night, I know what they’re talking about, I had 2-3 IkemenVampire edits that had the screenshots Vincent was hinting at on my Instagram page. I’m surprised I didn’t piss myself.

i remember leonardo's line. i read his route twice too, i am not sure if that line was also there in my first play, but i didn't think about it until i saw this post because like in ikemen vampire when the suitor talks about their past or trauma, the background generally goes black. or it's the end of the chapter. when i played that chapter i thought leo was talking about his opinion on the word "forever" or like his life. 'cause he is a pureblood vampire as you know, he lives forever and he is so sick of it, he grows to like mc because he is having a great time with her in that moment. living is eternal, so it gets stale for him. he wants to have plenty of good memories with mc, doesn't want to get stuck in a one special memory. he thinks living something again and again is meaningless-- because that's what he is doing. living days that are not very different from each other forever - until he meets her. i think that's what he meant in that chapter, i don't think it was a fourth wall break but if the line only appears in the second route play, then you might be right.

as for the vincent incident, i am so shocked? i have never seen vincent acting like a yandere, i read the sneak peeks, i read his route twice, i really don't remember that. "the game crushes"? you mean the app closed on its own? i remember that happening to me several times but it was at random moments and i did not have to reaggree to the terms of service. maybe it is all a coincidence or just a misunderstanding, i may check vincent's route again, maybe those lines really do exist and i don't remember. and i have no idea about the mini-game thing.

i'd have been DEAD SCARED if i were you. it's a really traumatic thing that happened to you, i hope it is just a coincidance 😢

That’s the scene! But I swear it was more creepy (ex: the screen going black around his sprite) so maybe it is a second play through phenomenon? But the fact that theres a similar scene on a regular playthrough is a good sign for me.

(As I’m thinking more about it, it would make sense to add a little Easter egg like that on the second go around. Since the context makes the lines hit harder)

And for the Vincent thing it happened before his route came out so I doubt his route would really shed any light on the situation, and my game has crashed before too but I never had to re-agree to the terms and conditions.

But I explicitly remember being kicked off, opening the game again and seeing a red count down timer and the terms and conditions underneath.

I’m pretty sure since I was actively breaking the terms and services by screenshotting they implemented a scare tactic to stop the behavior and also give players like me another chance in the process

taking too much screen shots can cause this?? really?? i don't think this is fair at all. sharing too much screen shots is an another issue, they can inform against the social media accounts about copyrights but like,, scaring off people with YANDERE VINCENT?! also "you did smth wrong, you're going to fix it"?! LIKE WHAT

this is too scary i mean. i am also a bad editor tbh. but i make edits more about ikemen sengoku than others, for me the best cybird game is ikesen, i was too into ikevamp at first but then i realized it is actually not that good ajsfhafahqga i hope ikesen won't ever try to scare me off with a yandere kicho :')

I tried making Toji, I REALLY tried, but I can’t put his signature scar on his lip unfortunately, so I could only stick with just him having a scar on his face. His hair is also kinda hard to do since this was the closest to his hairstyle that I could find 😅 maybe this is younger-ish Toji?

What Ikesen character’s names mean

(All googled by me)

There were only 3 names I couldn’t find the meanings of, Kanetsugu, Ranmaru and Kennyo. If anybody knows, pls pls pls tell me. Also, these may not be accurate, but oh well!

His name means “trust” and “the length”. I feel like this is very accurate, as everybody who works for him, under him, and lives in Azuchi trusts him to protect them and do what’s right. Also, he is willing to go to any length to see him goal be achieved.

His name means “smart” and “aspire”. He is quite smart, but I’m really struggling on how to explain it. The way that he cares for people is quite smart, in the fact that he cares for everyone who works for him or in any land he owns. He has a lot of aspiration, in the way that he want Japan to be united peacefully, and wants everyone to be equal. I think this is quite accurate.

His name means “superiority, high quality” and “beautiful, lovely”. He always makes sure that his work for Nobunaga is high quality (I guess) and he doesn’t feel that he is superior, but everyone around him feels like he is. He is (personally) my absolute favourite iksen character, he is so pretty/handsome and he is just lovely and perfect. I love him so much.

His name means “house” and “healthy”. I agree with healthy, with him kinda being like a doctor and all, so that suits him. For the house, I feel like it’s more like home. He seems like the type of person that, when you have the right intentions, he will always give you a place to stay, no matter how much you annoy him or he acts like he doesn’t care.

His name means “three” and “formation”. I’m not sure how three fits into it, unless how everybody treats him like that age (in a non-patronising way). Formation is accurate because he’s always the one deciding on the most effective and successful formation in battle, and the way him mind works is like a formation.

His name means “charge” and “great”. I’m not too sure on these two, but I guess you could say that he’s always charging into dangerous missions. Great is self explanatory as he’s a great person when you get to know him.

His name means “Kyoto” and “govern”. I’m not sure about Kyoto, unless that’s where he came from or wanted to go to, but I think govern is suitable. He wants to govern people in a fair way, making everyone equal, as he wasn’t treated that way in his youth.

His name means “big” and “good fortune”. I feel like big means that he is a big deal to everyone who knew him, as an important aspect of their lives. Good fortune could mean that he is quite lucky and skilled, with the ability to protect everyone around them. (Fun fact: Yuki means “snow”, possibly like how it was in the winter months in Kai.)

His name means “trust” and “origin”. As one of the oldest characters in the game, origin makes sense as well as the fact that he was fighting to get back to his origin, Kai. Trust shows how everyone around him trusts him to keep them safe, as they have faith in him and he is very trustworthy. (Another fun fact: Shin means “real”, like how, even though he was undercover a little, he still acted like his true self.)

His name means “sword” and “heart”. These are both truthful. He loves his sword, and never goes to battle without it. He closes off his heart after his childhood heartbreak, and keeps it closely guarded as he doesn’t want to be hurt like that again.

His name means “help someone” and “assisstance”. He tried to help mc, even before he properly met her. He then spent the next four years of his life, looking for her, in hope to help her get back to his original time. He’s always wanting to help those around him, and was constantly risking his life in order to help mc with any problem she had. He always supports her, and is the best friend/guide/moderately awesome ninja mc could have. (You can tell he has a special place in my heart ❤)

His name means “auspicious” and “basis”. After researching what auspicious meant, I found out it means “showing the signs of future success”. This doesn’t help me in any way shape or form, as I barely know Yoshimoto, so if anyone has any clue on how it can be linked to him, let me know.

His name means “aspire” and “formation”. I think this shows how he aspires to wreak havoc everywhere he goes, and how he has no formation whatsoever.

His name means “precious” and “white paper”. Again, I only have one tiny clue as to what this means, so I’m assuming that he finds something in life extremely precious. I barely know this character as well, so I can’t make a proper judgement.

These are all my opinions on what the definitions of their names represent, so you can interpret them in your own ways. I’ll also be doing this with Ikevamp and Ikepri. Lemme know if you like it.

I started Ikémen Sengoku and Midnight Cinderella and I’m not super into either. I keep seeing people say they are the best Cybrid games but I feel they are the worst.

Like, I see potential in them, especially Midnight Cinderella, but they almost feel like “test” versions of a Cybrid game that were never meant to be released to the public or something. They feel super rushed, especially the prologues, and they feel like they are lacking detail, and I don’t feel like I am connecting to or getting to know most of the characters at all.

I wouldn’t say they were boring- I really think Midnight Cinderella is an interesting story!- but I just don’t feel like they are done well. I don’t feel like they were well written. I’m just really not that interested in anyone in these stories (except Giles, and that’s only because I am nearly done with his route, and even then it’s only a little bit. It doesn’t compare to any of the guys from other Cybird games). I didn’t even know who to pick after the prologues because I felt like they didn’t introduce the characters well and I couldn’t get a feel for their personalities at all. Somehow with Midnight Cinderella, I also somehow skipped half the prologue without meaning to? Somehow? So I didn’t see most of the characters of that one at all. And with Sengoku, I couldn’t really keep the characters straight at all because it felt so rushed.

I still am not sure, despite being almost done with Sasuke’s route, if I actually understand any of their personalities and if I know them well enough to pick someone for my next route. There are only 2 characters that come to mind as potential candidates, and I’m not sure I’m even interested in either. With Midnight Cinderella, I only have one potential candidate for my next route. There is just no one that really speaks to me and I don’t feel like I got to know anyone at all throughout Giles’ route.

Also, I hate the MC of Midnight Cinderella? She’s kind, but kind of an idiot, and such a damsel in distress. Getting kidnapped like 3 times in one route??? Are you serious???

I don’t know, I’m not impressed. I feel like Midnight Cinderella is a reject version of Ikémen Prince. And I have even less positive things to say about Ikémen Sengoku.

I don’t totally hate them but I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone and I don’t get the hype. If you ask me, Ikepri is the best Cybird game, Ikerev and Ikevamp are very close behind, and these two are not even in the same league at all.  It would be like comparing an Olympic swim team to a 3 year old splashing in a bathtub. I might like them better later! But I just feel like they have a ton of room to grow and improve before I can say I love them.

i totally disagree, other cybird games' suitors are streotypes and you know which to choose because they give you a certain vibe such as "cocky" "mom", ikesen also has that ofc but all the suitors have much deeper personalities. when i first saw mitsuhide, i wasn't interested in him even the slightest, for me he was that sneaky teasing unrespectful man. but when i played his route, it was so beatifully written, they had such good chemistry and mitsuhide was so much more than i thought he would be. maybe you're right about that they don't introduce the characters proporly, for me that's not what is important, but rather how good the routes are. and i don't like ikevamp and ikerev routes except for a few of them
