I think "they don't even have X" is one of those memes that's actually funnier in its original context than in anything that's been done with it subsequently. Like, in its original context, this is a joke about a man who has lived his entire adult life alone in a swamp cold-reading the atmosphere of a corporate workplace and deciding that appealing to the receptionist's sense of working-class solidarity is going to get him in the door, and it fucking works.

Inspired by recent discussions of an Actual Play.

For those who don't know, I'm from Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil, and right now we're going through th worst environmental catastrophe in our history.

Because of heavy non-stop rain, the state is in total collapse due to the floods. Over 90% of our cities are being directly or indirectly affected. In the Rio das Antas Valley, water levels rose so high and so fast a dam broke and flooded the region. The Taquari Valley was the most affected with entire cities disappearing under the water.

I'm not going to ask for donations, though if you can and want to donate that would be greatly appreciated, we will need every bit of help we can get to rebuild the entire state -- some cities literally from the ground up, but I will ask you this: are you taking climate change seriously enough?

Are you willing to keep ignoring it and telling yourself everything is fine when temperatures keep rising, rains keep falling harder and for longer periods of time flooding entire regions like my home state, forest fires keep getting more and more common, and people keep dying from preventable, predictable causes?

Are you voting for representatives that are committed to the political changes that are necessary for the new world we're living in? Are you voting at all? Or are you still trapped in the lie that everything will be fine next year and things will finally get back to normal?

Because I hate to tell you this, but there is no normal for us to get back to, and next year things will only get worse.

good morning everyone my pig stole a box of top ramen out of the pantry, ate 11 bags, then laid in the noodley carnage how are you all doing

omg i am getting a ton of comments and messages worrying if he’s okay so here’s an update:

he is totally fine! he tears the plastic open and ate only the noodles, didn’t touch the flavor packets either. then he slept it off all day. he actually went to the vet on monday for a check up and they said he is very healthy, just a little fat (150 pounds!)
