Fairy Tales

Drabble: I was inspired by @one-shots-on-the-go imagine, which can be found here!!

Pairings: no set pairing, just everyone I guess

Word Count: 709

Warnings: none

Wide and curious eyes watched you slowly, taking in the way your arms moved animatedly around as you told them tale after tale of your journeys as a fairy. What they didn’t know, or refused to believe, was that you weren’t really a fairy at all. When you had first appeared in Middle Earth, your doe-like eyes, silken hair and airy aura entranced the races of Middle Earth. Many people had thought you to be a fairy, a rare race which people had only heard stories about. You tried to explain that you were simply a human, a very short human at that. You were only a couple inches taller than the dwarves. Though you constantly insisted that you weren’t a fairy, they refused to believe you, saying that you were just saying that to mess with them, as fairies were known for being troublemakers. But still they were adamant in saying you were a fairy. Soon enough you gave up on trying to reason with the stubborn people, and it wasn’t long before you soon went along with them.

Your eyes were blown wide as you got to a particular part in your tale, and you watched as the dwarves and the few elves in your presence held their breath in anticipation. “After hanging him by his toes I went around to his garden,” You continued on with your exciting fib, your eyes locking with poor little Bilbo as he flinched. He loved his garden, almost as much as he loved Frodo. So he couldn’t imagine a fairy getting so angry that they would want to ruin someone’s precious garden. “I took my little dagger and cut through his vegetables and fruits, taking them for my own!” Bilbo gasped, his shoulder colliding with Bofur’s as he tried to scoot further away from you.

“Did you ever cut him down?” Ori voiced out his curiosity, his hands wrapped tight around his knees as he peered up to you. Murmurs sounded through the empty hall in agreement, Kili nodding his head frantically after looking around to see others doing the same. “What did you do with his food?”

“Well I ate it of course!” You bellowed with laughter, tipping your head back at your own made up story as the others ate up were words. “What I didn’t eat I took back to my little cottage.” A deep grumble sounded from beside you, your eyes locking with Thorin’s as he raised an eyebrow at your story. You could tell he didn’t believe your story, his eyes holding a look of disbelief. No way could someone as kind as you do something so mischievous and crude. “He was trespassing at first I’ll remind you. If he didn’t want me to follow him back to his garden then he shouldn’t have acted as arrogant as he did when I told him to leave.” You argued, crossing your arms over your chest as you turned away from him. “It was his fault.” A grin threatened to form on your face as you looked around at your company, watching as they looked to one another in wonder before looking back to you.

“Do all fairies react to people who act such as he did?” It was Thranduil who questioned you this time, his tongue licking away a drop of wine from his lips before he took another sip from his glass. You turned to him briefly, and you tossed him a small shrug before murmuring out a small “it depends.”. Thranduil looked away from you and to his son, the two of them locking eyes for a second before Legolas shifted his weight from one foot to another. The two royals had discussed you and your race before, but there wasn’t much to say. Fairies were a rare and old race, much older than that of the Elves. Their customs weren’t widely known amongst the elders of Middle Earth, so if anything, they had to rely on your words if they wanted to learn anything about fairies.

“I suppose it could be true,” Thranduil let out a small laugh as he pressed his shoulder against the wall, his eyes watching as you shifted under his gaze. “Seeing as we know little of fairy customs.”

THIS IS WONDERFUL! IM SO GLAD YOU USED MY PROMPT!!

Imagine being mistaken for a fairy when falling into middle earth. They are adamant they’re correct, so you go along with it, making up strange stories as time passes, testing their limit of belief.

(Y/N): “so yeah, I hung him upside down from a tree, took his potatoes and cut him down after I finished eating.”

Thorin: “pray tell, WHY?”

(Y/N): *shrugs* “he was in my forest. arrogant prick told me his name and acted like I WASN’T going to take his food. dumbass”

Thranduil: *sipping wine* “I suppose we don’t know much about fairy customs”

Imagine both Legolas and Tauriel confessing their feelings for you, and telling them that you wish to be with both of them.

“This is not a situation we would have willingly put you in, but we needed to make our feelings known. We love you (Y/N), with all of our hearts. If having us both is what will make you happy, then you may have us.”

Imagine being the only human to live in Mirkwood, and to have almost every elf at least slightly infatuated with you. The tiny ball of energy that seems to have the kingdom and all of it’s inhabitants in the palm of her hand.

Y/N: *running around the halls, playing tag with elves who you’ve just taught the game*

Thranduil: “there she goes, running amock yet again. I sometimes wish she was just a tad calmer, though it might be a reach to ask her to lower the volume”

Legolas: “would any of us love her as much if she wasn’t this way?”

Thranduil: *smiles, shakes his head* “no, I suppose not”

Ohhhhh he’s the sweetest lil boy

  • He meets you while your lost in the Mirkwood forest and immediately tries to help you
  • He’s never met a human before so while he’s patching you up he bombards you with questions
  • seriously.. so many questions
  • He gives you little gifts before he makes his feeling known
  • Like lil pressed flowers from his rounds on guard
  • Once when you were feeling self conscious about your difference from all the elves you lived around, he gave you one of the most beautiful circlets that any elf maiden had ever had
  • Just to make you feel a little more at home
  • He loves to here you talk about your cultural differences
  • Sometimes it makes him blush, hearing about how sex is so casual for you, whereas it’s marriage for elves
  • He’s just a shy lil bean
  • When he gets up the courage to ask you to court him, he stutters it out so bad that you have to ask him to repeat before he just shuts it out in front of you “ILOVEYOUWILLYOUPLEASECOURTME”
  • you laugh a little and he thinks you’re going to reject him and he starts to walk away and you just stop him “of course I’ll court you, cinnamon”
  • He’s so Estatic
  • He talks about you to anyone who will listen, even more so now that your courting
  • He values your opinion so much
  • He loves your praise, even if it’s small he a blushing mess
  • he’s incredibly careful with you
  • He loves to play and go exploring but at random times he gets a reminder of your mortality and just stops
  • legit stops moving for a min and just looks at you
  • But to him it’s worth the grief to have this time with you, as long as your willing to give him, he’ll cherish
  • He just wants to have fun with you for as long as possible
  • And he’s so happy that you let him
