They are already selling data to midjourney, and it's very likely your work is already being used to train their models because you have to OPT OUT of this, not opt in. Very scummy of them to roll this out unannounced.

if you look at an abused child with behaviors like aggression, setting things on fire, etc, and your first thought is "omg potential serial killer alert .. so scary" then you're fundamentally missing the point + causing harm and i hope no child ever needs to depend on you

people learn about the macdonald triad in some true crime buzzword video and decide to let it inform their view of childhood trauma as something undeserving of compassion and "solved" by pathologizing and isolating victims

Juvenile arrests fall under this, too. A ten-year-old getting arrested, 999/1000, lives in a severely traumatizing environment, be it abuse, poverty, drugs, gangs, police brutality, all of the above, and needs love and compassion, not more abuse by the state.

I would like to add that children don’t have the tools or the social skills to mask their trauma symptoms like adults do. One of the symptoms of childhood PTSD is reliving their trauma through play, whether they reenact it or they act aggressively towards other children.
