I would want to fight you at your strongest, but your fighting pit... to what size should it be? If it is too small, than all spectators will burn. that is a fact when I fight."

It looks like he wants to fight the soldier even more now. It seems that all that boasting the other did only made him want to fight more.

Alexandria had been enough in troubles already for random mercenaries to fuel a fire that should have been stopped long ago.

With a heavy heart, and a very visible bore, Steiner concludes that accepting this duel is sadly the only proper course of action.

Aaaah, why couldn't these things happen to Beatrix instead, for once ? He always had to be the one dealing with the oddities.

Dragon meat, while prized for some reason, was not to his taste. The secret resided elsewhere, in the spices and the marinade employed for the meal.

"If a duel is what you seek, you are more than welcome to train down in the fighting's pits, but nowhere else. Alexandria is my kingdom's peaceful capital, and I will not tolerate disorder on its grounds." Steiner definitively looked like he could back his words up, in spite of his look, and his armor's worn look. "Are you looking into causing troubles?"

"Your muscles are...suitable. But I feel that you do not train enough to even compete with me."

the mercenary, half naked already says. Though he was always in a state of half nakedness. So there was really nothing new to complain about.

And if needed be, to swat away the dregs of his kind, selling their swordmanship like common goods. This, Steiner kept to himself, not wanting to start a fight so early in the morning.

Steiner couldn’t help but shrug. With what he himself had seen and uncovered over the span of a few months , Kaeli’s story felt not only likely, but a bit too familiar.

“At least your world ending abomination didn’t come from another planet…” he muttered before catching himself. This behavior was quite unknightely of Him and he’d have to atone for it at a later time… Perhaps now was a good time to stop and rest. He had been traveling for a while after all, and his armor was feeling heavier than usual. “Say, miss kaeli, you wouldn’t happen to know of an Inn i could possibly stop by? I’d be delighted to answer any question you may have once i’m refreshened.”

“Oh, you’ve encountered a deadly beast from another planet?  I haven’t personally, but I have a good friend who has!  I wonder if the ones you each encountered are similar in any way?”

Noticing the great knight’s weariness, Kaeli shifted her focus and invited the gentleman to her town.

“yes I absolutely do!  I live in Foresta just a short walk down the forest path from here.  There’s an inn there, plus lots of food, and places to shop, and friendly fun people!”

Goodness no, Steiner, shocked by the similarities of their former situation(minus the political nightmare) hoped otherwise; indeed, One kuja alone had been a nightmare to deal with, the destruction he had caused in his tantrum leaving a lasting mark on alexandria and its neighbors. In a fit of common sense, He thought better of voicing these thoughts. The time was to the rebuilding efforts, and the eradication of any future trauma.

"I think the inn alone is a tempting enough offer as it is..." Replies steiner, absent mindedly. He proceeds to follow her, all the while pondering out loud on the idea of a bath and its presence within his list of priorities. Truly her hospitality was honouring him. Now inside, he goes for the counter and orders two drinks, leaving several coins; it was but a small token of his thanks, but he most definitively wished for his new companion and guide to toast with her, to this newfound friendship.

A few drinks later, the knight turned out to be far more amicable than first thought, and his demeanor far warmer. He merely needed the right lubricant.
