Dear Avery
"Are you still following Bruce around like a lost puppy or did you finally realise how much of a mistake he was?"
Betty narrowed her eyes at the man. He had no right to say anything about her and Bruce, honestly she doubted her father even told him much about the extent to which her and Bruce were connected. “He was never a mistake,” she responded sharply. Her and Bruce were apparently meant to be a tragedy but she wouldn’t ever regret their time together. “Why are you even asking that, what I do with my life is none of your business Blonsky. Last I checked you tried to kill me.”
Send me “?” and i’ll write a starter for you that includes one of the following sentences, randomly generated. 1-152, ranges from fluff to angst.
Feel free to change pronouns or anything else !
❝ I don’t know if you’ve been in a fight before, but there’s usually not this much talking. ❞ ❝ I don’t… I don’t even have a driver’s license. ❞ ❝ Alright, I’m gonna pretend you didn’t say that. ❞ ❝ You ever see that really old movie, Empire Strikes Back? ❞ ❝ Not in that onesie, you’re not. ❞ ❝ That thing doesn’t obey the laws of physics at all! ❞ ❝ I got something kinda big, but I can’t hold it very long. ❞ ❝ Yeah, we don’t really need to start a conversation. ❞ ❝ It’s an honor. I’m shaking your hand too long. Wow, this is awesome! ❞ ❝ What’s up, Tic-Tac? ❞ ❝ Did he tell you what we’re up against? ❞ ❝ We’re outside the law on this one, so if you come with us, you’re a wanted man. ❞ ❝ Clearly retirement doesn’t suit you. Get tired of playing golf? ❞ ❝ You couldn’t have done that earlier? ❞ ❝ Are we still friends? ❞ ❝ I retire for what, like, five minutes, and it all goes to shit. ❞ ❝ How long do you think you can keep your friend safe from me? ❞ ❝ HOLY SHIT! ❞ ❝ We’re on a truce. Put the gun down. ❞ ❝ Is this stuff coming out of you? ❞ ❝ Is this all you wanted? To see them rip each other apart? ❞ ❝ I’m done letting it consume me. Justice will come soon enough. ❞ ❝ Tell that to the dead. ❞ ❝ The living are not done with you yet. ❞ ❝ I know you’re doing what you believe in, and that’s all any of us can do. ❞ ❝ I became distracted. ❞ ❝ You have the right to remain silent! ❞ ❝ Stay down… final warning. ❞ ❝ The people that shoot at you usually wind up shooting at me. ❞ ❝ I know you’re nervous. And you have plenty of reason to be. But you’re lying. ❞ ❝ You are being uncharacteristically non-hyperverbal. ❞ ❝ I thought it might lift your spirits. ❞ ❝ This is for dropping a building on my face! ❞ ❝ We’re taking a break. It’s nobody’s fault. ❞ ❝ In my culture, death is not the end. It’s more of a stepping off point. ❞ ❝ Stay at home. You’ll only make this worse. ❞ ❝ Looking over your shoulder should be second nature. ❞ ❝ Anyone ever tell you you’re a little paranoid? ❞ ❝ I know we’re not perfect, but the safest hands are still our own. ❞ ❝ I’m not the one that needs to watch their back. ❞ ❝ You seem a little defensive. ❞ ❝ If we can’t accept limitations, we’re no better than the bad guys. ❞ ❝ I was wrong about you. The whole world was wrong about you. ❞ ❝ It always ends in a fight. ❞ ❝ How long are you gonna play both sides? ❞ ❝ If someone dies on your watch, you don’t give up. ❞
things you didn’t say at all
They had years to say things to each other, and in the years that had past since he left her she was glad that they did because while it sucked that they were forced apart those memories would always be some of the best she had. Yet sometimes, in the dark of the night while she was alone in the place that had been their home, she couldn’t help but think of the things they hadn’t said because they hadn’t needed to. “I want to spend the rest of our lives together,” it hadn’t needed to be said back then because as foolish as it now seemed they were already spending their lives together. In another world they were still living their lives together, still both teaching at Culver, possibly even married with a child. That life was gone now though and even if he returned they couldn’t ever get it back.
❝ I won’t let any more people suffer because of him. I’ll do whatever it takes! ❞
For a few moments Betty just watched him, unsure what to say in response to that. She knew her father deserved that sort of attitude, but he was still her father. She would fight against him and pretty much everything he stood for but ultimately she didn’t want him to be gone. “Bruce,” she spoke, hesitance clear in her voice, “I know he’s horrible but I don’t think I could forgive you if you killed him.” The worry was probably unfounded but with how her father was it certainly seemed that killing him was the only way to ensure people didn’t suffer due to him.
