Backstory: Giulia Ferochii was born in Sicily to purebloods Antonio and Alessandria Ferochii. Her grandfather- Rodrico Ferochii- was the head of their crime family, the magical Ferochii Branch of the Sicilian Mafia, and before they moved to America to escape the authorities, he already saw the potential in her when he observed her conning a neighborhood kid out of his pocket money at age 4. He started to train and groom her afterwards to eventually take his place as Head of the Family and she was subjected to harsh punishments for any failures. Her mother objected but remained quiet as she knew how volitile her father in law could be. Her father worked for the Italian Ministry and also knew how violent his father could be as well but knew better than to say anything
Instead of attending public school, she was homeschooled and was taught the family magicks as well as having hired tutors to teach her basic knowlege and how to navigate politics and various social circles to further spread the Family’s influence. During the summer of her 6th birthday, a collection went wrong and innocent blood was shed. Not wanting to deal with the aftermath due to his notariety, Rodrico instructed his capos to mantain their territory, packed up his family, bribed the taxi to drive them to the docks where they boarded a passenger ship with fake passports and sailed to America.
Once on land again, Rodrico got into contact with some American associates who set them up with a nice apartment and forged documents and they set up shop once more once getting familiar with the local crime families as to not step on toes and business started up as usual. Giulia’s training resumed and at age 11, recieved her letter to Ilvermony. At first her grandfather was furious and refused to let her attend, but after some bargaining, reluctantly agreed, only on the promise that she continues spreading influence and keeps up with her lessons.
She attended Ilvermony for two years until her father had to be transferred from the American branch of his department to the British one. After some deliberation, Rodrico handed the Ferochii territory and their rackets over to another crime family they grew close to and once more packed up his family and they eventually settled in the underbelly of London near the Leaky Cauldron to start up once more their rackets and influence. Giulia, now 13, regularly explored Diagon Alley and its sister sector, Knockturn and quickly made friends with the ruffians, dark wizards and vagabonds who lurked/frequented the alley and started to build her own circle of influence and rackets, much to the pride of her grandfather and the silent horror of her parents.
She eventually was sorted into Slytherin and was a loner. She made conections with other students, but they were all superficial and once she got what she wanted from them, she dropped them and moved to the next one. Many tried to court her, finding her ‘mysterious and brooding’ but she had no time for relationships. During her 5th year, Rodrico passed away and the title of Head was given to her father. In the last year of his life, Rodrico pleaded her case with the Mafia and after deliberation, approved her future title but was hesitant to let a teenager run such an influential Family, especially if she was still in school so until she was of age, the Family would go to her father, who only had superficial training but the Sicilians knew that Guilia would be the one running things behind the scenes.
