I promised you forever  - Jay Halstead x Reader

  • Request: Requested Anon for my 500 follower celebration.
  • Prompt: 18 - “You love me and you know it.”
  • Warnings: A little angst. A little fluff. Mentions of being shot, surgery

“Get to Med… Jay’s been shot.”

As she waits in the waiting room at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center, the sound of her sergeant’s words echoes in her ears. Her heart is racing, her knee is bouncing, her hands are trembling, and dried up tear streaks run down her face. She feels like she’s been sitting in the room for an eternity, waiting for any news about her husband’s condition. He was already in surgery by the time she got at the hospital, which was a little more than two hours ago.

Whatever Comes

Pairing: Jay Halstead x Reader

Word count: 2,147

Warnings: A lot of angst. Mentions of blood, life-threatening injuries, hit-and-run, fracture wounds, and miscarriage.

Summary: Doctor (y/n) (y/l/n) and Jay Halstead are secretly dating when there is a terrible accident involving (y/n) and a lot comes to light.

Disclaimer: I don’t own any of the One Chicago shows, or its characters, also not associated with it in any way, or know anyone involved with it.

A/N: Okay, so this is my first fic in a long while and I don't think it's all that good but I had to restart somewhere, so I hope you like it anyway!

(y/n) = (your name) (y/l/n) = (your last name) (y/n/n) = (your nickname)

You had just gotten out of your car across the street from the side of Med and, as you were making your way through the bit of road that led to the hospital, a car comes into the driveway — screeching tires, in full speed — and runs you over long before you could even see anything and, there, in the matter of a few seconds, everything goes black and you’re left bleeding out in the street.

Warnings: hints of alcohol abuse if you squint, um idk kinda angsty, bad writing.

Holding On

Part 1

Jay does his best to be quiet, gently closing the door behind him. The whole house is dark. It appears you haven't bothered staying up for him, not that he blames you; it was late. He slips off his shoes, stepping into the living room. He suddenly holds his breath, because even in the darkness he senses your presence. You sitting downstairs without the lights on was never a good sign.

--------------

There had been a horrible fire in an apartment building in downtown Chicago. You were at home when you got called to Chicago Med, Maggie -your best friend- being the one to give the news to you. Without a second thought you rushed towards the hospital, you knew your family would need you, after all your father-in-law lived in the apartment complex being one of the victims in the fire. Even though he was stable you knew it could change in the blink of an eye, you had seen it way to often in your nursing career.

Arriving at Med you walked through the ED doors to be met with chaos all over the department, your fellow coworkers running around attending any and every patient that came through the doors. You prayed that no other friend of yours was being treated. Noticing April on the nurse counter you rushed to her as fast as your belly let you go.

“April” at your voice her head snapped up from the computer, standing up to meet you around the station.

“Hey. Y/N you’re not on-call. Is there something wrong with the baby?” she asked, furrowing her eyebrows when she noticed your worried expression. You shook your head taking a breath before answering,

“Maggie called me. Pat. Jay and Will’s dad is here. He was at the fire” you frantically said to her as she nodded

“Alright. Just take a deep breath alright. Let’s get you there” she continued guiding you towards his treatment room. You knew things had been rough since Jay had to make the call to sell his childhood home -Pat’s house-, making their relationship even harder than it previously was. But being honest your father-in-law was in no state to take care of that house and it was rubbing on his health.

Arriving in front of the treatment room you hugged April thanking her, to which she smiled and squeezed your hand. Taking a deep breath and calming your emotions you knocked slightly, announcing your presence before pocking your head inside. Jay couldn’t help but sigh in relieve when he saw you walk through the doors. Going over to you and putting his arm around your shoulders and kissing your forehead sweetly while caressing your belly.

“Hey, what are you doing here?” he asked worried expression, mixed with another emotion you couldn’t quite grasp.

“Maggie called me about the fire. Told me you guys might need me” you said smiling slightly now that you saw that all three Halstead looked alright, before glancing at the older Halstead.

“Hi, Mr. Halstead. Are you alright?” you asked smiling sadly at the older man, to which he took a deep breath giving you a forced smile.

“As alright as I can be. It’s Pat, hon” he responded in a weak voice, making your stomach turn -bad sign- you thought. The older man could have differences with his sons, but he always had a kind of soft spot for his daughter-in-law and future mother of his grandkid. A grumpy but yet loving side, that Will had said, Pat only showed when his wife was alive.

“So, what happened? Did you found out what caused the fire yet?” you asked your husband, who shook his head with a dark look on his face, almost matching his fathers. There was tension in the air, that’s when you knew something had happened between them before you came in the room and Will was too quiet for his normal self.

“Should I wait outside?” you whispered looking up at Jay, still on his side hug. Before Jay could open his mouth to respond, Pat cut him off.

“No. Your husband should be the one leaving, all of this is his fault” Pat said, making you turned your head in his direction, furrowing your eyebrows. How could it be Jay’s fault? You kind of had your suspicions about what he was referring to.

“Dad” Will said breaking his silence in a warning tone. He wasn’t about to let his father talk that way, even more now that you were here. But Jay on the other hand scoffed,

“How is this my fault, huh” Jay said taking his arm off your shoulders. You reached your hand into his own trying to prevent something worse happening, even saying his name trying to get his attention -it didn’t work-.

“You had no right to sell my house” Pat exclaimed, making you jump a little by the sudden change in tone. Eyes going wide, so it was what you thought.

“You want to talk about this again. It was a wreck you couldn’t take care of the place” Jay said letting your hand fall and advancing slightly towards his dad. This made you share a worried look with Will, the latter rolling his eyes and shaking his head at his father’s next words.

“You just wanted my money” Pat said pointing in Jay’s direction.

“Hey! You don’t have any money. You thankless old prick. I’ve been doing great on my own, no thanks to you or your money” Jay exclaimed.

“Jay, stop” you said, trying to defuse the situation, but both Halstead’s were not backing down.

“Guys c’mon. That’s enough” Will tried as well. Safe to say it went unnoticed.

“Yeah, like what?” Pat asked, in between coughs, ignoring yours and Wills attempts to interfere. Jay scoffed shaking his head,

“Being a good father, supporting my kid in whatever she wants to do. Telling her how proud I am. That’s where I’m doing great” Jay exclaimed.

Pat huffed staying silent for a moment, before Jay grabbed your hand and walked out. Ignoring his brothers calls as he pulled you outside, but maybe he shouldn’t have just walked away. Because the events that would follow, would hunt your husband.

Pat had a heart failure; it took his life right before his eyes and there wasn’t anything anyone could have done. You knew what happened, your medical knowledge told you exactly what the outcome would be, and you weren’t ready for what would drag with it. You waited out of the room as the doctor told Jay and Will the news, laying out the options -which are going break Jay more- you thought while pacing in front of the door. When the doctor left the room, you quietly entered standing by the door a sad look on your face. Jay was seated at his father’s side looking at Pat as if willing him to wake up, even if he would start with the grumpiness again. You all stayed like this for some time, even though it felt like hours an eternity. You were pulled from your thoughts when Jay jumped slightly, eyes wide.

“He squeezed my hand” Jay said in a voice so little it could’ve been lost in the silence of the room. You closed your eyes trying your best not to cry and failing miserably.

“Honey…” you whispered sadly wiping your tears away.

Knowing the reason behind the movement, it was a spasm. Pat was brain death and there was no doing that would change that outcome. When he heard your voice, he turned to look at you, the look on his face made you want to cry even more. So, you moved towards him standing behind him kissing his head while putting your hands on his shoulders, Jay leaning his cheek on your hand. He was blaming himself and he was feeling guilty for the way they last spoke.

“Jay. The outcomes, they won’t change, man. No matter the second, third or fourth opinion” Will said, Jay shaking his head, refusing to look at his brother using his -doctor voice- as Jay liked to call it.

“No. That can’t be the last- that can’t be the last conversation we ever had” Jay’s voice breaking with every word that came out of his mouth. By this point you weren’t hiding your tears rolling down your cheeks.

“We have to make a decision. Whatever regrets you have-” your brother-in-law started, but you quickly cut him off,

“Will. Just give him a minute. Please!” you exclaimed looking at Will with a pained expression, you knew Will had his own way of grieving, but Jay was just starting his. He was having an internal battle, and he deserved to figure his feelings out.

“Y/N. He has to accept it” Will said glancing to you,

“Hey. Don’t tell me what I have to accept. Get out” “Jay-” “Get out, man” Jay stood up abruptly taking you by surprise before he started to drag his brother out of the room, you following behind them.

“Jay he’s gone!” Will exclaimed, right before Jay connected a punch to Will’s mouth. You gasped in surprise before rushing to your husband. Your arms hugging his neck and pushing him back with you.

“Jay! Jay, please. Please calm down baby, please” you continued hugging him and backing both of you into an empty room. He took a shaky breath before his arms went around your waist and you heard him sniffing his tears, he didn’t want to cry. You both stayed there for a while, just hugging each other.

“He’s not coming back, is he” Jay whispered, it wasn’t a question he was trying to come to terms with the situation.

“No, honey. I’m so, so sorry” your voice breaking. He closed his eyes, lip trembling.

“I know…” he muttered.

“I’m right here. You don’t have to pretend with me, Jay” your voice muffled, before you pulled back to look at him, not breaking the hug.

“I’m so angry” he said biting his lip, while silent tears rolled down his freckled cheeks. You nodded wiping your tears before wiping his and pecking his lips.

“It’s okay to be angry. Just don’t let it consume you” nodding he pulled you back in the loving embrace, chin on your head as he cried in your arms.

Life was funny. How it could shut in an instant and take with it the joy and the light of the people around. Jay had sat back in the dreadful chair, beside his fathers bed. You were sitting on his lap an arm around his shoulders, he had one of his hands on his dads, the other wrapped around your belly. Jay was in deep thought not hearing his brother come inside the room, you looked at him giving him a thin lined smile before mouthing ‘I’m so sorry’ to which he nodded looking down.

“Baby-” you said in Jay’s ear to which he hummed, while you caressed his hair.

“Will’s back” nodding in the direction of the redhead, the latter taking a deep breath before talking.

“I’m sorry, Jay. For everything, for not being there for mom and leaving you take the responsibility…” Will paused before glancing at you. You nodded to him, a sad smile on your lips. There, you knew he had finished grieving, now understanding what you were trying to tell him before.

“…And for not letting you grieve” Jay looked towards his brother nodding, taking a shaky breath.

“I know he’s not coming back- just let him go. Let him go” Jay said sighing to his brother, voice so soft it could break at any second. The redhead took a sit on the chair next to Jay, hand on his brothers shoulder as comfort. You reached your arm over to Wills shoulder squeezing it as a sign of solidarity in this moment of sadness.

Pat was not an easy person, but he loved his kids even if he didn’t know how to show or even say it. You were all together, as Pat took his last breath. Room full of sadness, tears but at the same time so much love. Yet after everything that happened grieve was the only thing left standing, grieve and unspoken words.

In Trouble

Pairing: Jay Halstead x Reader

Summary: Intelligence races against time to find Jay when he’s kidnapped while on the phone with Y/N.

Word Count: 3,420

Warnings: mentions of injury/blood, kidnapping, angst, fluff, swearing

A/N: So if you look at my WIP list, this fic is 5th on the list, but I kind of got excited about it so… posting this first haha. Was inspired by a mix of other shows and this idea popped into my head, so here it is, I hope it turned out okay! I proof-ed it once but am just gonna post! If there’s mistakes, I might fix em later haha. Let me know what you guys think!

“Hey.” You greeted, answering the phone with a smile, even though you knew Jay couldn’t see you.

“Y/N.”

“Don’t tell me you’re working late again tonight.” There was a hint of dread and slight annoyance in your voice. Jay had been buried in a big case for the past few weeks, you’d barely seen him and even when you did it was a quick kiss and he was gone.

“No, no, I’m on my way, I promise.” Jay said, holding the phone close to his ear and adjusting the bags he was holding. “Just stopped to get you some sweets.”

Jay heard your tinkle of laughter as someone walked into Jay, hitting him in the shoulder. “Sorry.” The guy muttered.

“Jay?” You pulled his attention back to you and Jay turned away from the man who’d passed him.

“You’re driving me crazy, babe. What did you want to tell me?” Jay said.

Hard For Me

Pairing: Jay Halstead x Reader

Request by anon: hi, can i request a jay halstead x reader where they’re already in a relationship and it’s just a whole bunch of angst and at the end, everything gets cleared up and they are both happy and in love? please and thank you!

Word Count: 928

Warnings: angst, fluff

A/N: Request wasn’t really specific so I hope that you like what I did with this! There’s a lotttt of requests sitting and waiting for me to work on them and I promise to do so but it’ll take some time! Thanks for all the love~! I love seeing your comments, even just reblog tags so hit me up!!!

“You promise?”

You stared at Jay who stared wordlessly back at you.

“I can’t promise you that.” The words slipped out of his mouth, tasting sour even to him. “You knew it from the moment you met me. This job is a part of me, I can’t stay out of the way while my team puts themselves in danger. You know that!” Jay internally groaned. He hated fighting with you.

But that had been the last thing Jay had said to you before he had stormed out of the apartment, leaving the argument hanging. All you had wanted was for him to tell you he’d take care of himself but somehow with both your emotions in the way, it had twisted out of control.

You hated violence, every part of it, even the part that meant Jay was saving lives. You understood why he loved his job but you couldn’t understand why he would put himself in harm’s way. But you hadn’t meant to fight with Jay, you hadn’t meant to say some of the things you had said.

Yet now, not even 12 hours later, you were wringing your hands in the waiting room at Med, the biggest ‘i knew it’ blaring in your head. You could almost hear your heartbeat pounding in your ears and you glanced around, half expecting everyone else there to be looking around for the source of the sound.

Bad feeling - Jay Halstead

Listen to 'Till it happens to you' by Lady Gaga while reading this.

You were waiting outside your apartment with Kelly, Natalie, Will and Matt. You were all waiting for jay. He was your boyfriend, and it wasn’t something for him to show up late when you had planned something with your friends.

“Are you sure he was on his way?” Natalie asked.

“Yes. He texted me.”

“He’ll probably be here any minute,” Will said.

You looked down the street. It was a one-way street, so he could only come in from one way. If anything happened underway, Jay would call or text. Now there was nothing. All sorts of scenarios ran through your head. You tried to stay calm, but you had a feeling that it wouldn’t go away until he was right in front of you.

You decided to call Adam. Maybe he got pulled into a case and forgot to call you.

“Y/N, to what do I owe the pleasure?” Adam asked when he picked up the phone.

“Did you get pulled into a case?”

“No. Why?”

“It’s nothing. Jay should’ve been here, and he’s not. It’s probably nothing.”

“Alright. Call me if he doesn’t turn up.”

“Will do. Thanks, Adam.” You sighed as you hung up.

“No case?” Will asked.

You shook your head.

“Maybe he’s at the district?” Kelly suggested.

You quickly called Trudy. “No. I haven’t seen detective chuckles. Everything okay?”

“Yep. We’re fine. Thanks, Trudy.”

You hung up the phone. You had a very bad feeling about this.

“Why don’t we split up? Y/N, we can follow his footsteps to the store. You three can just look around the city, I don’t know?” Kelly suggested.

“Let’s do it,” you said. “Call me if you find him,” you said to Natalie, Will and Matt.

You got in the car with Kelly and drove to the store. Nothing looked out of the ordinary.

Just when you were driving out of the parking lot, you spotted Jay’s car on the other side.

“There he is!” you yelled. You opened the door and sprinted away. When you got closer, you noticed that the car had crashed against a tree. You stopped a few feet away from him. You could see someone sitting in the car. There was no movement.

“Call Will,” Kelly yelled. “I’m on the phone with 911.”

You grabbed your phone out of your pocket and called Will.

“We found him,” you mumbled as he picked up.

“So you’re on your way?”

Tears welled up in your eyes. “No. It’s bad, Will. He… he crashed.”

Kelly rushed over to Jay. “Y/N, I need your help!”

“I have to go. I’ll send you the location.” You hung the phone and walked over to Kelly. He was sitting behind Jay, holding his head steady. “There is a wound on his right thigh. You need to put pressure on it,” Kelly instructed.

You put your hands on the wound. “I’m right here, Jay,” you mumbled.

A groan escaped his lips.

“Hold still, buddy. You were in an accident. An ambulance is on the way,” Kelly said.

“You’re going to be okay,” you said. “We got you.”

“Y/N, I loved you,” he whispered.

You looked at him. Tears were now streaming down your face.

“Don’t you dare to say it. Don’t you dare to say goodbye to me, Halstead. I love you too, but don’t you dare leave me.”

He weakly smiled at you.

You scanned his body for any more injuries. Most of the blood was coming from his thigh. There was a cut on his forehead, but it didn’t look that bad. As far as you could see, there were no other injuries.

“Jay, can you tell us what happened?” Kelly asked.

“It came out of nowhere, the car. Had to serve, and I hit the tree.”

“You’re going to be okay,” you said.

“I love you so much. “You’ve made my life better,” Jay said and slightly smiled.

You let one hand go and felt Jay’s pulse. His heartbeat felt irregular. Your moved your hands just below Kelly’s fingers and felt the same thing.

“Jay, talk to me. You have to stay awake,” you said as he got really quiet. His eyes slowly met yours. It didn’t feel like you were looking into your boyfriend’s eyes. This guy’s eyes lost his sparkle, the bright colour of it.

“I’m going to be fine,” Jay mumbled. “I remember… the first day I saw you.” He gasped for air.

“Okay, don’t talk. Just answer my questions, okay?”

“Okay.”

You slightly smiled through your tears at the first question that came up in your head.

“What was the first thing you thought when you kissed me for the first time?”

“I want to marry this girl.” More tears streamed down your face.

“What about our first date? What did you think of that?”

“I should... ask you.”

You were interrupted by Will, Natalie and Matt. “What’s the ETA on the ambulance?” Natalie asked, going into doctor mode right away.

“5 minutes. There is fucking construction everywhere,” Kelly said.

“Y/N, let me see that,” Will said, and you pulled your hands away.

“I love you…so much… you have… no idea,” Jay weakly said.

“I love you too. But you are going to be fine. Will and Natalie are here. You’re going to be fine. They got you.”

“Kiss me…”

You looked at Will.

“You’re not going to die,” you said as you looked back at Jay.

“Please, babe… kiss me.”

“Y/N, you have to step aside,” Natalie said, placing a hand on your shoulder.

Before you walked away, you gently placed a kiss on his cheek. When you pulled away, his eyes were closed.

“Jay?” He didn’t respond. “Jay?” you said again, now crying.

“Matt, get her out of here,” Natalie ordered.

Two strong arms dragged you away from the car. You struggled against them. “No! Let me go. Let me with him! Let me be with my boyfriend,” you yelled as hot tears streamed down your face. “Let me be with him,” This time, it sounded more like a whisper. First responders came from everyone. The firefighters got him out of the car in no time. They got him onto a stretcher and loaded him in the ambulance. You saw the mouth of one of the paramedics move, but it didn’t reach you. It was completely silent around you. The only thing you heard was buzzing in your ear. Will was getting in the ambulance while performing CPR on Jay. You were lifted up from the ground and put in a car.

You didn’t know how you got to the hospital. You sat in the waiting room with your friends and his brother. Natalie had cleaned your hands. Will sat on one side of you and held your hand. Kelly was sitting on the other side and was doing the same thing. You couldn’t move. You barely knew what was going on around you. You didn’t feel the hands of your friends on you. You were completely numb. Tears were still streaming down your face, but you couldn’t be bothered to wipe them away. What was the point in doing that? What even was the point in doing anything. Jay was dead. Your boyfriend died in your arms. You had a feeling. This morning when you came out of bed, it was already there. It was far away, but there was this feeling in your stomach that you couldn’t place. Jay left for work, and the whole day that feeling stayed with you.

“This morning I… I had a feeling,” you started. “The whole day I… I had a feeling that something… that something was wrong,” you cried.

Will pulled you closer. “It’s not your fault, Y/N.”

“I should’ve said something to him. I…”

“It’s not your fault, Y’/N. There was nothing you could’ve done to prevent this,’ you looked up as Sargent Voight stood in front of you.

“It was the case we are working on. We had a suspect, but not enough to bring him in. He was the one that came out of nowhere and let Jay swerve. We got him, and he is going away for a long time,” Voight said.

“I should’ve told him to stay home,” you mumbled.

“He wouldn’t have listened. That guy is too stubborn. We all know it,” Will mumbled.

“I could’ve….” You couldn’t talk anymore. Sobs were leaving your mouth, and you were crying into Will’s chest.

“Y/N, Will…” You looked up as you heard Connor.

“How is he doing?” you asked.

“In the ICU, but he’s okay. He’s conscious and asked for you, Y/N.”

“What were his injuries?” Will asked, but you didn’t listen. Jay was going to be okay.

You followed Connor to the room Jay was in.

There are a lot of wires on him, so don’t freak out when you see it. He also had a big bandage on his head.” You only nodded your head. He opened the door for you. You slowly walked in. You slowly made your way over to Jay. The only thing you heard was his heartbeat, and you have never been happier to be hearing that. You sat down on the edge of his bed, and you grabbed his hand.

“I told you that you were going to be okay,” you whispered and wiped away a few tears from your face. His eye slowly opened.

“Y/N,” he mumbled and lightly squeezed your hand.

“You’re okay. I love you so much.”

“Love you,” he mumbled before his eyes shut again. You just sat next to his bed while you listened to his heartbeat. He was going to be just fine.

Alone - Jay Halstead

Ever since you were a little kid, you had been scared to be alone in the house. That didn’t stop when you got older. When you moved out, you made sure that you were never alone. At your first apartment, you had a roommate, and then you moved in with your boyfriend, Jay Halstead. He was a detective for the Chicago Police Department. Sometimes he would come home late, even then, a friend would stay over until Jay got home. When Jay would go undercover, that was a whole other situation. The team knew about your fear, so Kim and Hailey would swap staying with you until Jay got home. Sometimes his brother Will would stay over or one of your friends from Firehouse 51. This past week Jay was undercover, and Hailey had stayed with you the entire time.

“He’s going to be home in an hour,” you said to Hailey as you walked into the living room.

“Good! Do you want me to wait?”

“No, you should go home. I’m going to shower and put new sheets on the bed, so he’ll be home by the time I’m done.”

“Alright.” Hailey packed her bags. You thanked her for staying, and she left the apartment. You locked the door behind her and put on some music. You changed the sheets on the bed before jumping in the shower. Your phone was lying next to the sink. You humbled along with the music that was on. After your shower, you got dressed and put your hair in a low bun. Just when you were about to step out of the bathroom, you heard a noise in the living room. Was that Jay? You grabbed your phone from the counter and called him.

“I’m almost home,” Jay said as soon as he picked up the phone.

“So you’re not home?” you whispered. Your heart started to beat faster. This is what you were afraid of.

“No, why? What’s going on?”

“I think someone is here. I’m in the bathroom. The door is locked. The music is still playing, but I can hear someone walking through the apartment.”

“I’m on my way. Don’t open the door until I come to get you, alright? I’ll call Voight so he can send a car over or go check it out himself. You’re going to be okay. Just stay on the phone with me, okay?”

“Okay…” You sat down behind the door. In case it would go open, they wouldn’t notice you right away. You hear something falling to the ground. You flinched as you closed your eyes. Tears streamed down your face. You were so afraid that one day this would happen. You had no idea why that fear was always there.

“Voight is on his way, babe. You’re going to be okay. He’s two minutes away. I will be there in five,” you heard Jay say.

Your hands were shaking so much that you couldn’t hold the phone to your ear anymore. It felt like your heart was beating out of your chest. How could this happen? You were so careful with everything. How did they know you were alone? Did they see Hailey leave? Were they watching you? Did they even know you were home?

Someone tried to open the bathroom door. You heard the knob twisting. You put a hand over your mouth, trying not to make a sound. The tears streamed down your face.

“I’m here. I’m walking up now,” you heard Jay say.

“I know you’re in there,” you heard someone say.

“Chicago P.D.! Step away from the door,” you heard Voight yell.

“Ey, it don’t have to be like that,” an unfamiliar voice said.

“Drop the weapon!” You heard a thud, and then there were only muffled noises.

There was a knock on the door. “Babe, it’s Jay. Can you open the door?”

You couldn’t move. You were shaking so much that you were afraid you would pass out if you got up.

“Back away from the door, alright? I’m going to open it.” You heard some noises before the door flew open. Jay looked around the bathroom and found you crawled into a corner next to the back of the door. His heart broke seeing you like that. “It’s okay. You’re safe,” he said as he lowered himself to the ground. He wrapped an arm around you and pulled you closer. Your phone fell to the ground, and you broke out crying. “It’s okay. I got you. You’re safe,” Jay whispered over and over again.

Once you calmed down, he took you to the living room. The entire team was there.

“Y/N, I’m so sorry. I shouldn’t have left,” Hailey started apologising as soon as she saw you.

“It wasn’t your fault.”

“We think they had been spying on the place for a few days now. When they saw Hailey leave, they probably took their shot and went up,” Kevin explained.

“You got them, right?” you asked and looked around.

“Yes. Two men, around 30. They only broke a few things but nothing that was worth anything,” Adam said.

You nodded. Jay was still holding your hand, and he wasn’t planning on letting it go. “Thanks for being here, guys. Really appreciate it.”

“Anytime, kid,” Voight said and laid a hand on your shoulder. “We’ll leave you two alone now.” The entire team left.

You snuggled up against Jay.

“I called Will about a therapist you can talk to. Doctor Charles has a spot for you on Monday.”

“Okay. I think that is a good thing.”

“I think so too. I will have the entire week off as well. So it’s just going to be the two of us.”

“Good.”

Jay planted a kiss on your head, and you sat on the couch for the entire night, just cuddling and being with each other.

Oh, the ways in which I could fix it... I'm working on something already, but I can't finish it until after work. I offer a snippet (unedited, so forgive me):

WARNING: Contains spoilers for Season Four.

There's a high-pitched chirping coming from the nightstand, and it's everything in you not to reach across and fling the source of the noise against the wall. Fucking Club. They always need Coco at the strangest of hours, out to do fuck knows what, only fuck knows where. Under normal circumstances, you would let it slide, even at two in the morning. Unfortunately, normal circumstances are on holiday.

“I know it hurts.” with coco cruz

a/n: this drabble hurt my feelings a little bit to be honest. these are gonna be a little shorter than what I usually write but if we decide that we want a full plot line for them, I may see what I can do. enjoy!

Coco loved you. And it was hard for him to love you as much as he did, because as much as he loved you, he never thought that he was good for you. His biggest fear, especially in the last few months, was that something would happen to you and he knew that if it did, the guilt would most definitely eat him alive.

So he tried to end it with you multiple times but no matter how anxious he was, all he had to do was see your smile, and he was never able to do it. Somehow, he would find himself in a pair of sweatpants, curled up with you on the couch watching a crime documentary.

And now...he’s confused. Walking toward a bloodier version of you, he’s confused on how he let his feelings get in the way of your safety. How he let his own selfish desires get in the way of what he knew what was best for you.

“Coco,” You breathe out to him, a hand clutching your side.

“Jesus Christ, mamas, what the hell happened?” Coco says, trying to keep his voice steady.

“We were just,” You pause and squeeze your eyes shut, “We were just shopping.” You and Letty had went dress shopping after you finally convinced her to attend a school dance. You were praising the red dress she had tried on when a rain of bullets rained through the place. You hadn’t even realized you had been hit until you were halfway to the clubhouse, and Letty nonchalantly mentioned the blood spilling from your abdomen.

Coco is in front of you in a split second, his hands pressing down in place of your own and then swooping you into his arms and into the clubhouse. There’s a buzz of energy surrounding you as Coco lays you on the couch, yelping questions at Letty, who is in just as much shock as everyone else.

You groan as he presses down harder on the wound and his other hand brushes your hair out of your face. “I know it hurts, querida. I’m so sorry.” And that’s how you fade out, Coco’s thumb rubbing your hair and him whispering “I’m so sorry” over and over again.

When your body goes limp under his hands, Coco’s chest physically aches. The other Mayans are scrambling for the first aid kit that they keep in the clubhouse, and EZ is trying to explain to Angel that sewing thread isn’t the same as the thread they use to sew up people.

And in the midst of the buzz, Coco is on his knees beside the couch, his head pressed against yours, whispering how sorry he is. And then he quietly makes a deal with himself that if you come back to him, he has to do what he has to in order to protect you. Even if it’s the hardest thing he’s ever done.

Please Come Get me

Juice Ortiz Imagine

The night seemed colder then usual for California. You shouldn’t have stayed at the gym this long. The parking lot was nearly empty but a few cars. The street lamps where barley lighting up the parking lot.

There was this unsettling feeling in the pit of your stomach as you walked to your car. You turned around hoping to find someone in the shadows but no one was there. You rushed getting the door open to your car but out of no where you where slammed against the side of your car.

“Y/N tell Juice to we don’t like being ignored.” The mad in the hood and mask said as he held a knife to your throat. You breath was stuck at the mention of Juice.
