dragon age au!!!! been in my head all month even before we got all that new concept art. qunari venom, kaz may or may not have died and become possessed by a spirit of vengeance don't worry about it, quiet was saved from a devastating burn related injury by venom and joining the wardens but because of it the taint is pretty far along hence her permanent butterfly eyes.

Unpopular opinions by J, your local big boss fan

1) MGSV is not a good game. The game may run well, but it has so many poor elements like the overall vibe, the characters are awful, and the plot is all over the place without saying anything at all. V is an awful plot device, the parasites are lazy, and what they did in Ground Zeros is disgusting and horrible.

2) Solid Snake was at his best in Ghost Babel. He recognized who he was, a killer who enjoyed war, and decided he wanted to live and repent. His whole arc progressed so well in Ghost Babel, and it’s a shame more people don't know about it. That quote everyone loves so much came from it too, when he's talking to Chris: "Life is worth living, even if it hurts you. Even if you hurt in it. You taught me that. You were my salvation."

3) MGR has a better handle on the spirit of metal gear than mgsv and mgs4. The game is campy, ridiculous, completely off the walls, but still has themes of personhood, anti government and capitalism, and what you fight for. Its a perfect mix of serious and silly, not the gloomfest that was mgsv and whatever the hell the writing decisions were in mgs4

4) George Sears had the most tragic life of any Snake, and honesty? He deserved so much better. Manipulated by the patriots for literally his entire life, aged so rapidly he looked like an old man when he was sixteen, actually did good and then as soon as he tried to break free from the Patriots he was disgraced, cast out, and was being hunted down. I think about George too much and I start feeling both angry and sad

5) Big Boss is the best character in the series. His story is about the cycle of trauma, and how war can warp a person. It also doesn't help that he was used as a pawn for literal years by so many different people, lied to and manipulated and used as just a weapon to pursue a goal... It’s no wonder he thought that about himself in PW. Even with the whole Outer Heaven thing, that was orchestrated by the US government... Solid snake wishes he had the character range

Headcanon time! I'm gonna be jumping all over the place, head full thoughts many

1) Sundowner remembers President Sears enough to base a soldier training program after him... and president sears takes the place of Bush in the timeline..... and 9/11 canonically happened in the mgs timeline,,,,

Sundowner whole heartedly believes that George Sears was behind 9/11 and actively praises him for it bc it jump started the war economy

2) Once she recovers, Amanda is the most feared woman on Mother Base. Nobody wants to get on her bad side. Nobody. Am I still mad that they wrote her and Cecile out of the plot? Yes. Yes I am

3) Before Mother Base was procured and MSF were basically nomads, the people who worked in mess kept little potted plants for herbs and spices. They're a pain to move when they have to pack up, but it's worth it.... Anything is better than MREs.

4) The reason Liquid doesn't wear shirts is a texture thing, pure and simple. He doesn't like how things feel against his chest, but he really likes his coat because of the dramatic flair of it all. Mantis is constantly exasperated by this. Sniper Wolf thinks he's ridiculous. Vulcan Raven totally gets it. Decoy Octopus doesn’t care.

5) The Cobra unit all join Sorrow in his mangrove forest when they die and treat the rest of the series like their own personal TV show with Sorrow occasionally offering updates when he jumps back to the mortal plane... nobody is sure exactly why only NSnake can see him but maybe its because of the nukes? Because he's died multiple times? Who knows

Monsoon's personal magnetism works on the basis of alternating currents. Each of his individual parts contain tightly wound coils that have a current running through them, creating a magnetic field. By switching both the amount of flow and the direction of those currents, he can make the magents repel or attract at different lengths. It’s a very complicated process, and took a long time to get used to...

The actual magnekesis I'm still working on how to scientifically explain so I'll get back to you on that one
