Title: Dear Diary

Fandom: Resident Evil Village

Characters: Alcina Dimitrescu, Bela Dimitrescu, Cassandra Dimitrescu, Daniela Dimitrescu, Mother Miranda, Donna Beneviento, Karl Heisenberg, Mia Winters, Rosemary Winters

Chapter summary:

Dear Diary, I kept my ear pressed at the door of Mama’s office. I know that eavesdropping is wrong but I couldn’t help it, I needed to know! Oh, I wish I never knew. I wish I never followed my mother and listened to her conversation with my sister’s therapist.

Daniela: I was doing fine in math until algebra. It is the devil’s work, okay? Why are there letters there? Why are letters replacing numbers now?

Cue her going to Alcina to help. Alcina puts her glasses on and looks at it for a few minutes.

Alcina: This is absolute nonsense. Go get Cassandra.

Asking Alcina where are her kids and her answering, playing in the cellar with a crooked smile.

Cue to them, indeed playing in the cellar but instead of torturing maidens, like in the game, it's playing violently with Barbies and throwing paint (mostly red everywhere). It's their release all your energy room.

I can picture the dolls being hung upside down, hair set on fire, missing eyes, and broken/missing limbs 😭😭😭 but what do we know, to Alcina this is healthy coping and a way for the daughters to express themselves even when they're literally getting creative torturing their dolls for absolutely no reason.

Cassandra's children ressemble her in many aspects but in what aspects do they take after Wife ?

They take after in many aspects as well!

Daughters are organized, and not only about their space and things (minus Adelina bc she is MESSY and chaotic) but in general, they know how to plan for things and not just-- do whatever. Like even when they're alone, they make sure to organize their time and have a set time for different things which is something they do on their own. They don't need a parent or an adult to make them do these things they just pick them up from their mother.

Unlike Cassandra, and more like Wife, they try not to just reject something without trying it first. Be it food or a hobby or anything, they do try it first before forming an opinion/preference.

They are driven and resilient. But unlike Cassandra who is an overachiever and gets genuinely upset when she isn't the best at everything, daughters work hard but within reason, and they are okay with the result even if they don't do so great. They got this from their mother because she and Cassandra talked and Cass was clear that the way she does things is not very healthy it's too late for her but she doesn't want her daughters to be like her. So with a little Wife's influence, her daughters did take after her in that regard and they enjoy what they do without the added pressure of being the absolute best at everything.

Unlike Cassandra, the daughters are somewhat practical with whatever comes their way. Cass is prone to outbursts and just shuts down when things don't go her way. But her Wife and daughters just shrug and change their plans with little to no dramatics (daughters were dramatic when they were younger but as they got older they realized their other mother makes more sense so they ditched the drama and tantrums and moved on because they want to have more fun than moping around)

They do fantasize about things but they know this isn't real so they generally have a realistic outlook on life.

They're very independent with strong opinions and personalities (ok this is also a bit of Cass but Wife is like that too)

They're very competitive (they might not be into athletics but they have that spirit there) like when they're doing anything they love to be the best at it and just don't accept that others are better than them. In case they lose, they don't give up or feel sorry for themselves (they do for a bit but they recover quickly) they just work on being better and spend a lot of time trying to improve (this goes back to them being practical which is a Wife trait).

They take after Wife in their problem-solving skills. They believe that every problem has a solution and they're determined to do that. Even when it's impossible their resilience pushes them to keep looking for a sensible solution and they don't rest until they find one. Something like "Hey Mom this boy is being mean to me in school. It's okay though I punched him in the face and he doesn't bother me anymore"

B: How many hours have you slept this week ?

C: ... Dare.

B: Go to sleep.

C: I don't like this game.

Lmao what makes Cassandra think she can escape from Bela like this.

She tried tho, bless her wild soul.

Wife, the parent who subtly tries to get her kids to play sports by giving them a ball all the time when they are small and saying stuff like "ooo she is a kicker" when her wife is pregnant.

But ends up with artistic kiddos who sometimes play with a ball in the pool.

Wife really thought she was onto something when even her babies were born. While Cass was pregnant, Wife would touch her stomach and feel the baby kicking thinking 'yeah this one is definitely going to be a good soccer player' only to have said child looking at her funny when she presented her with a small ball to kick.

Poor Wife though, lol. She really did try to get them interested in something sporty but it never worked. She thought her kids were an extreme case until she learned that during all of high school, Cass was exempt from gym class because she just couldn't do it and Alcina was ready to interfere. So no Wife, your kids aren't abnormal they just take after their mother more than you.

Daniela calls Bela the smart one because Cassandra always always ends up getting Daniela tangled up with her mess and also she pranks her and pick on her and Dani falls for it every time.

Bela though? She can see right through Cass and doesn’t fall for her goading and taunting. It’s this insight that she has that makes Daniela idolize her in that regard and consider her smarter than normal because how do you avoid Cass and her shit? You must have superpowers.

Cassandra: Just overheard my 44 year old mother tell my 38 year old uncle "don't tell mom". So apparently it is a lifelong thing.

This makes her feel more assured and get even more mischievous because she learned that this doesn't stop at any point so why try and control herself at all?

Bela: How disrespectful is it when your younger siblings are taller than you 🙄

Lmao poor Bela. Though no one really pays attention to her complaints because it's only like 1 cm between her and Dani and 2 cm between her and Cass like it's barely visible yet she makes sure to bring it up and complain about it all the time.

Cassandra: What's for dinner ?

Wife: Can't tell you, it's a soup-rise !

C: Is it soup ?

W: I soup-pose it could be...

C: Stop that !

W: Stoup what ?

C: Saying soup puns.

W: No ... soup.

For Wife Dad jokes > everything

Cassandra thought the birth of her child would exempt her from the dad jokes because Wife has a new victim but nope. Cass is her victim and she will keep doing it

May I request some hcs or facts about Bela and Daniela as aunties, or Mama Cassie or anything related to the grandbabies really ? They always manage to melt my heart.

Have a wonderful day !

Of course anon!

Cassandra loves being a mom! I mean, it goes without saying, since she chose to have children so she's all ready to love the little ones and all of that.

Normally, she doesn't really have any commitments or work. She does fill in for Bela when she can't be in some places. And at times, she has to travel with either Alcina or Miranda for business but that is only when it needs to happen. Her typical work day starts at around eleven in the noon, and it usually ends 3 to 4 hours later because girlie cannot handle working for longer than that.

Becoming a mother didn't change much, she still has her schedule and things to get to, but now she has little tots around. Normally, nannies handle the babies, and once they're cleaned and fed, Cassandra spends the rest of the day with them.

She's very loving and protective, like, she's territorial and possessive and this applies to her children. She isn't above doing anything to ensure their safety and everyone who knows her knows this fact about her.

Before kiddos started school, she spent most days with them at home, or they'd all go to the castle and have fun there because Alcina and Daniela adore the children so much.

Cassandra doesn't care if any of her daughters is very young, she has no problems discussing different topics with them as if they're adults, and as a result, her kiddos are very well-spoken and can talk about many different topics at a young age.

Not only there for deep talks, but Cassandra enjoys doing different things with her children. Shopping, getting their nails done, picking new (picture) books (and later on normal books, she's there for everything.

Despite that, she is prone to worry and must always know her children's whereabouts and who they're with, or else she gets anxious.

When it comes to a lot of things, she lets Wife handle things because she knows she can't. Like any time any of her children is sick, she lets Wife handle it and takes them to the doctor because Cass is just feeling so bad and panicky she doesn't know how to react or what to do.

For school, she loves attending all the different activities her children are involved in (nothing sports-related much to Wife's chagrin) but she loves being there and watching her children shine.

She loves to spoil her children, and yes she has rules but generally, she's just a pushover just like her mom.

Bela and Daniela:

They adore their nieces!

Like, in the Castle, the daughters have their own rooms which they never use because they're usually either sleeping with Alcina or their aunties because sleepovers are fun.

They'd get into Bela's closet and it's not an uncommon sight to see them walking around with her shoes on. Normally, when Daniela does this, Bela gets mad because she doesn't want anyone going through her things and trying them on without asking. But with the kiddos? She's okay with it and she even teaches them how to balance while they're walking in the too big heels they're trying to walk in.

Daniela loves spending time with the kids doing all sorts of things. from being chaotic to reading in the library, she's up for it all. She's also very protective over them, like it's not just fun and games but she's also very wary of any possible dangers and is always keeping an eye on her nieces.

The girls love being around their aunties; when they catch one of them going out they ask if they can come too because it's bound to be fun. Bela and Daniela never say no (unless where they're going isn't suitable for children) and they just bring the kids along. And of course, they always end up buying them treats and the like because yasss let's spoil the kiddos.

While Bela is a stickler for rules and gets snappy at her sisters, her nieces can do a lot worse and she wouldn't bat an eye at them. Just let them do as they please because 'are they hurting anyone?' then no, just let them be.

Bela gets the kiddos the best most over-the-top presents all the time because her nieces are special and they will stand out in every situation.

Probably Alcina's POV with smol Cassandra:

Turned around for a minute and she put sand in my coffee. Have kids it's fun they say.

Revenge. Smol Cassandra would certainly do this for revenge because she got grounded and doesn't think it's fair.

Like-- She's smart and always plotting something. Alcina can easily get into her own head thinking 'Yes, this is the child I don't have to worry about, the world should fear her' Then she realizes that this applies to her too and she spends years trying to figure out how to parent this child and give her clear boundaries and structure while also giving her the space to express herself.
