Happy April 1st!  I’d like to celebrate this often-foolish day by sharing highlights from the world’s worst Captain America coloring book.

It doesn’t look that bad from the cover, right?  About five years ago my friend brought this over to my apartment.  We met through Avengers comics fandom on LJ, so it wasn’t that strange for her to whip out random Captain America merchandise.  I thought it was just a typical coloring book at first.  

But then I flipped it open to this page:

That’s right, Doom is handing out mugshots of Cap.  But wait, he’s not really holding it, is he?  Maybe it’s just stuck to his glove and he can’t get it off..? How embarrassing for Doom. 

Meanwhile, Cap is stuck in a horrific fever-dream.  That’s the only thing that could explain the perspective here.  It might explain the melting stars, too.

I like to call this one “Captain America’s invisible pole-dance” because seriously, what is he doing?  It makes more sense if you draw in a pole and a feathered boa.  The gritted teeth could be a sexy growl, right?

But wait, there’s more!

Bears! His greatest nemesis! 

There’s nothing more American than Steve Rogers crying in a national park.

These were just a few pages.  This is a thick coloring book, guys. I didn’t even touch on the Many More Super Heroes that the cover promises.

This got flagged by tumblr for being explicit.  It’s been successfully appealed, but wow, what broken algorithms. An excuse to bring it back, though!

This started out as me wanting to put them in street clothing and it kind of devolved into a Rival Gang AU with Kouhei being part of this gambling syndicate and Taichi as a member of a gang that, uh, just sets things on fire idk LOL I hope you like it!! (I apologize for the bad photo quality, couldn’t find good lighting D; )

(Kouhei’s tattoo refers to the see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil motto)

OMG, thank you!! This is SO COOL, I absolutely love it! All the little details are really fun (DEVOUR is just INSPIRED on Taichi’s armband), and the whole concept creates such wonderful tension between them! This is a great AU and a great piece of art! Thank you so much!! <3 <3
