Dick sighs and looks away. He knows what she means, but because he’d been on that same side of a relationship before. Twice. “I’m sorry, Roy.”
“I know.” She shook her head. “The fucked up thing is I know you never mean for it to hurt, and neither do I... but we just keep -” She broke off and shook her head. “Sick thing is I don’t wanna give up on us...even when I know...cause for me it’s always gonna be you and....I know when we finally give up and throw in the towel that you’ll be able to move on and fall in love a thousand more times and I...I won’t.”

“You’re the one who’s moping.” He replies, taking a bit of his own sandwich with a shrug. “Well if I piss you off that bad, you know where the door is. Take my trash out on your way out, will ya?”
“I’m not moping, I’m just...” and maybe she was moping, but that sure as hell wasn’t his business. “You do realize you’re literally in my place, right? Pretty sure that means i can kick you out at anytime.”

“Maybe I’m just that good?” Roy offered with a grin. “Or maybe you kinda like me.” She shouldn’t be surprised about the former Robin waxing on poetically; he had seen the jane Austen novels lying about, but it was different when he was talking to her like this as opposed to the unbridled sarcasm shown out in the field.
Carol and Roy (carolxferris)
“He didn’t tell me to feel any particular way, Roy.” He replies quietly, the frown still present and out of place from his usual expression. “I fell in love with him, I made plans with him. And I don’t… I tried to understand. I did. You know I did. But all I feel is like I’m not good enough anymore. You’re in this now and when he’s moody, you’re moody and when you’re moody, he’s moody and then I’m left to just try and figure everything out by myself. Like whymy boyfriend doesn’t want to be around me and why I’m suddenly sleeping with my best friend instead of just playing video games with her and why my boyfriend is making plans with you without even bringing it up to me.”
“And I fell in love with him to, and I was ...am...for you...” her voice trailed. “Tim always wants to be around you, I mean...as much as he wants to be around anyone.” And God, being with Tim complicated, and she’d always seen Bart as the easy one to deal with , but now..... “What plans? “ Her brow furrowed, trying to recall exactly what Bart was talking about. “You mean the me visiting thing? Cause you brought that up first, and ...” Roy swallowed hard. “I thought you wanted this. Cause when Tim and you first talked to me about the three of us....you seemed all for it-’ and now she was ticked. “If you didn’t wanna deal with an extra person you shouldn’t have brought it up, you know? Should have said hell no. Cause right now, it kinda feels like you just wanted to fuck a girl and now that you’ve tried it out you wanna just go back to the two of you.”

“I’m not naive, Roy. I’m confident. I’m not about to give you a meaningless pep talk, but it seems like you could use a little confidence.” Gina sighed and rolled her eyes. She liked to work alone, but often ended up with other people watching over her shoulder. Roy wasn’t the worst teammate ever, but she wasn’t exactly helping the situation.
Gina was fiddling with her gun, trying to think of a way out of the mess she had gotten them into. If Roy wasn’t going to help her, she was gonna get out herself. She was crouched behind a cabinet in an office in Gotham City. She wasn’t entirely sure which office they had ducked into. She was investigating a case that she had thought was just embezzlement. It didn’t take long for her to realize that the situation was worse than it had appeared.
She put one hand the handles of each of her two guns. “I didn’t need your backup in the first place. I’m getting what I came for. If you wanna leave, I can cover for you. There’s a window. I suggest you jump out, and hope you don’t die.”
Roy let out a snort as she glanced at the younger woman. “Pretty sure confidence is that last thing I need. Surprised your dad isn’t still bitching about my “reckless behavior.” It took all of her willpower not roll her eyes at the mere thought of Jason saying those words. The two might not be partners these days....didn’t mean she didn’t remember how it was. “Not a chance in hell.” Roy scowled. “I’ve never bailed on a partner during a mission before, sure as hell not doing it now.” She shook her head and offered Gina a grin. “Besides, pretty sure you dad would literally kill me if I cut and run.” Roy might be Jason’s friend, his former partner, but at the end of the day, she was nothing compared to his daughter. And that’s the way it should be. She reminded herself. She comes first.

She nodded as she kissed her neck. “Mmhmmm. Just tipsy. Me and Dinah did lots of shots.” She giggled more and kissed her cheek. “You a favorite tooooo.”
“So I can blame her for this, huh?” Roy grinned, laughing at the other woman brushed her lips against her skin. “Or maybe i should thank her.” She tilted her head slightly, brushing her lips against Carol’s. “I’m glad you had fun.”
“Nope.” In only a matter of seconds the speedster has replaced the half of a sandwich she stole with two more. She should know by now stealing food doesn’t hurt him at all. He can literally run to another country and get whatever he wanted and be back in a few minutes. “Just like getting you riled up, that’s all.”
“And so, what? You just bring up my shitty love life?” Roy shoved another bite in her mouth. “Pretty sure you existence is enough to piss me off, you don’t need to do any extra.” And that wasn’t strictly true, she loved Tommy, she just wanted to kill him most days.
“Me? Drunk?” Carol giggles and shakes her head. “Never!!!! Ever. That’s bad.” She wraps her arms around her. “Roy loves me”
“So you’re just....tipsy then.” Roy grinned as Carol drapped herself around her.”Course i do, you’re kinda one of my two favorite people.” And God was Hal gonna regret missing this.
