It's been a while since I've posted here, but I'm going to try to get back in the habit. I'm looking really hard for art jobs since the retail world really isn't doing it for me. I'm experimenting with some different styles and techniques, like in this piece. Instead of lining with my standard pens I line with colored pencil to give the piece a bit more color and interest when paired with my markers.

I'm working on a piece for an illustration contest right now in this style.

~SOCIETY6 UPDATE~

So since I still have all the rights to the shirts I designed for the competition, I went ahead and posted them to buy on my Society6! I know none of them are anything fancy or special, but if you guys do happen to like something and want to purchase mini prints, shirts, or (in the case of Cat Fanatic) pillows, please do so! All of them come in a range of shirt styles and colors!

A portion of every sale from Society6 goes back to me and I could use the extra cash given my tenuous job situation right now. If nothing else please reblog, because I would really like to get my work out there.

Some of my illustrations that I made available as shirts on my Society6. Please check them out.

CCAD ART SALE

I will be selling at the Columbus College of Art & Design Art Sale tomorrow (4/5/14). I will have prints, original drawings and paintingss, and handmade jewelry. I have prices all over the place so there is something for everyone, and I would really appreciate anyone who can spare the time to come and visit.

The event is at the Crane Center and goes from 9 AM-2 PM, with admission from 9-10 is $50 and from 10-2 is $5. Admission for CCAD students is free. I will be on the third floor and I have a grey tablecloth. Please stop by!

So I'm really crunching to get ready for the art sale. I'm making a bunch more prints and jewelry for my table, especially chains and rings... The two chains above are nearly done, and I have 2-3 more I want to do before next weekend so I have a nice variety of lengths and styles... I don't even know if they'll sell but I can only hope.

For my most recent self-defined project in my portfolio class I decided to make an album cover for the musician Kerli. She has always been a huge inspiration to me both as a person and an artist and I really love her philosophies.

I wanted to do something a little more graphic and beyond what I usually do, but still including delicate patterns and the symmetry I incorporate in other works.

I casted quite a few pieces today in my metalworking class, these three in silver and two more in bronze. They obviously aren't filed or completely cleaned, but I have another assignment to work on in the meantime.

The ring on the right will have filigree added to the space in it.

Quick question!

I'm looking into making some branding stickers, but I can't really afford to have them professionally done and I know that you can buy and then print on paper to do it yourself...

But what kind of paper is best? Any brands to look for or avoid?

The final two rings from my Ring a Day project. The top one is made from an older watercolor that I cut apart, collaged back together, and then formed into a ring and added gold leaf.

The final one is made of Worbla that I sanded and then painted with enamel. It's actually one of my favorites and I might make a matching necklace.
