it broke my heart to read this post is by journalist yousef (ph_youseeff). he’s a cancer patient and he has been trying to evacuate for a very long time now to continue his treatment. his health condition has been deteriorating in light of the lack of hospitals health care.

and please share this around. he’s 60% through his goal. help him reach it.

“A good Roman wouldn’t keep talking.

Jason kept talking.”

started rereading some blood of olympus today and forgot about all the stuff jason mentions in his chapters. like genuinely this is so heartbreaking to me. boy tried everything to evade the destiny that being a son of jupiter set out for him. he keeps bringing up the roman standard of excellence throughout the story, and i feel like this small moment just sums up his character development. he learns that he doesn’t have to just abide by the rules of the romans and camp jupiter— he can think and act for himself. he can keep talking. he knows it’s stupid to keep speaking to zeus in that moment but he doesn’t care because he needs to get out what he wants to say.

jason grace the hate for you is criminal

i always said that i wanted book accurate percy in the sense i wanted him, to quote that one post, compulsively running his mouth, disrespecting the gods and being loyal to a fault and WE GOT IT.

this is the Percy who's so angry at Luke he tries to goad him into fighting him, this is the Percy that, when all is said and done, forgives him and recognizes him as the hero of the prophecy.

this is the Percy who lets his rage get the better of him and attacks gods and enemies alike when he's backed into a corner or his friends are in danger.

the show may have its flaws but Percy landing a hit on Luke and immediately apologizing then getting hurt for it? MEANS THE WORLD TO ME.

THIS is the Percy that stood by Jason calling Zeus unwise, with his sword in his hand ready to fight for his friend.

People getting pissed off at Rick Riordan for rewriting his work....... in his own way because, the years has changed him as a writer....... and not understanding why someone would hate a movie that made a mockery out of their beloved stories...its almost like the right of the PJO series belongs to him......

Sorry to add to your post but yeah! It's getting increasingly obvious that fans were expecting a perfect adaptation in the sense of everything happens exactly like in the books within the confines of the new medium, and while that's valid, most of the nitpicks are about changes they purposely made!

Gabe's portrayal, Percy knowing things from the get go, etc. You can dislike them all you want but that doesn't change the fact they're not mistakes, it's the original author's right to mix and match and shake things up because this is a story they're writing with the rest of the series in mind unlike when he first wrote TLT, and he also has a team of Amazing writers and a team that knows how to write a story, maybe better than he did as a new author, because they know the medium better than he does!

Of course the show has issues, but in my humble opinion the changes are not part of that, at least not entirely, more like they struggled to balance the new with the old (i.e I love that the trio knows what they're up against, but they could work on other ways to increase tension) but that's something that comes with the territory and it will get better in the next seasons (🤞🏻), and I believe people should look at the show as his second draft, a reimagined PJO that reflects the current times.
