I'll be honest, I'm mostly just posting about Byler these days but I'm also a 20 something INFP, Slytherin, Swiftie, Theatre/Poetry/Text Analysis Enthusiast

the vines tightening around el’s neck when mike says “I love you” is actually insane

and then she looks at max, who she knows loves her for her (and you can take that as romantic or platonic, idc), and suddenly she is able to fight back

snack theory.

Recently I’ve been getting notifications about a theory I posted a while ago, so now I'm making a proper post about it.

First of all:

1. Will and Mike might be going to Lovers lake next season.

There have been many occasions where water is present in something related to byler (like Will’s corpse being pulled out of the water, the rain fight, the claws poster, Mike’s shirt being ocean pacific, etc) and there have been theories that these two will end up going to Lovers Lake at some point in s5

Also apparently according to "Will Byers Secret Files", Castle Byers is next to Lovers Lake.

(credits of the picture: W1llByer2 on twitter)

Though apparently the official maps are very contradictory, so idk. But if this one is true, well, they could be going to castle byers and then to lovers lake?? or something like that.

2. There is/was(?) a gate in lovers lake.

And when Dustin is telling to the others about the possibility of this gate's existence, Robin says this:

The word “snacks” shows in Rink o mania between blue and yellow stripes

With Mike and Will in the shot.

And it also appears in the airport when they reunite.

So yeah, the gate in lovers lake is snack sized bc these two are going there lmaooo idk idk

It could be a coincidence I guess, but still a very funny one lol

Will's likely arc in Season 5

The most powerful way for Will's "emotional arc" to play out, the most LGBT+ affirming, the truest to his character, and the best way to "tie the whole series together," is for the VERY things that society looks down on him for...

-Being quiet and introverted, and therefore sensitive and empathetic -Being gay -Loving Mike -And being selfless...

... are how he SAVES THE WORLD. We may very well see gun-toting badass Will. But in the end it should be the very qualities he REPRESSES in himself, that he's been taught to be embarrassed over, that are what allow him to conquer Vecna. It would unite with his coming-out arc: LOVE CONQUERS ALL.

He might need to sacrifice himself. He will survive, but he might deliberately sacrifice his life for his friends and especially Mike. And we likely won’t know until the last episode if he survives. (I will be tearing my hair out this season!)

Stranger Things' ultimate hero is a quiet gay boy who wants love and gives love, whose strength of character far exceeds what people assume at first sight. It would affirm the show's message siding with the outcasts: Hawkins' ultimate outcast will be its hero.

Being a Byler shipper while they make ST5, feels like 2020 shipping Destiel being 100% sure it would be canon.

the whiplash of being on byler tiktok to byler tumblr is insane because like. everyone there still treats it like a crack ship and if they don’t they are also on tumblr. and EVERYONE is CERTAIN that will is bones it’s like no sweetie if you had an ounce of media literacy you would understand there’s no way they can kill will without it being completely out of the blue..

Alright so it’s safe to say that someone is shouting for Steve to run away from something and the first instinct is to be worried for Steve because he would definitely pull the sacrifice play if he had to…but personally I’m a little bit more worried about Robin (or both of them)..let me explain why.

We know Will is there, a source claimed that in fact ‘everyone’ is. But we also know that Millie isn’t, as a picture of her not being on set right now came up. So it’s safe to say that we most likely have a big portion of the cast around during the shoot and not the entire cast.

In the first recording it was pointed out that someone could have been yelling out Mike’s name instead of the first “Steve!” and whereas that’s personal interpretation I can definitely hear it. And I can also hear Will’s voice out of that. Makes sense, right? Will shouting Mike’s name? That would just mean that Mike is present, too. We knew that he and Will would be attached to the hip in season 5 thanks to the foreshadowing in season 4. And we confirmed that there is someone else that will at some point team up with both of them.

Dum dum dum, Robin.

I personally believe it’s only Will shouting but regardless of you believe it to be and who it actuallyis (Dustin or Jonathan perhaps), they’re telling Steve to run, which means that Steve most likely refuses to leave the battle field.

To point another thing out about the video, I also believe that we can hear Steve himself at the very beginning of the recording and he sounds kind of desperate, in my opinion. If I’m not completely crazy I’m pretty sure I can hear a “Let her go!”

So what I’m trying to say is, what if Vecna has Robin and Steve refuses to leave her side and that’s when himself is targeted, which we can hear in the second recording.

I can’t add the video but Maya Hawke has recently talked about Robin’s arc in season 5 and stated that she’s more involved in the supernatural stuff than ever and finding friends and looking for love.

I find it really hard to believe that they are going to kill off Steve, Dustin’s second father/big brother figure after doing it to Eddie in season 4. I’m pretty sure they introduced him so they didn’t have to kill Steve. Besides, Steve means a lot to most people in the group whereas Robin is probably the least connected person as she’s the newest, meaning that her death would hit everyone, but it wouldn’t break them like Steve’s death would- except for Steve himself.

It’s clear to me and probably most people that Will is going to suffer plenty next season and him making friends with Robin and then losing her to Vecna right away would definitely hit home. And because he already lost Robin, he doesn’t want to lose Steve too.

Just another small theory I wanna throw into the mix:

Will shouting for everyone to run reminds of him telling Joyce to run through the lights in season 1. Despite being in the upside down, he found a way to help Joyce by telling her to run. I’m thinking that in this scenario Vecna might have him trapped somehow, in a way that results him being cut off from the others in some way that they can’t hear him? As in basically torturing him because he can’t help his friends out, who possibly don’t see Vecna coming, and has to watch them die. That at least would explain even more why he’s the one yelling…

Call me crazy, but I don't think Will is getting Vecna'd.

I think everyone is going to be expecting it, to the point that they protect Will like crazy. I also think Henry is going to use their preoccupation with Will's safety to try and pick the rest of them off one by one. His plan is to torture Will until he breaks.

What Henry is going to want is for Will to join him again. To that end, he will target everyone Will cares about, all the while taunting him. He will tell Will how pointless it is to fight against him. He's going to win in the end, and he might consider sparing some of Will's friends if he joins him.

I stand by my prediction that Will is going to have a Luke/Palpatine temptation arc.

I love how both the Byler fights were basically “something’s off about you, Mike, what’s your deal?” “you’re not my boyfriend, so don’t call me out!”

Because Mike is always the one pointing out relationships. Mike’s the one highlighting that they’re not romantic. It’s on Mike’s mind. And that’s canon. And people insist that Mike is straight?

is it just me or i desperately want Robin's mentoring to be toward Mike.

like i completely understand why Will could receive help from Robin, since he's coming to terms with his sexuality, just like Robin had to do, but he already has an older, mentor-like figure in his life. Jonathon, my beloved!!! sure, Jonathon probably doesn't understand everything about Will's feelings, but Will doesn't need help with understanding himself because i'm pretty sure he knows damn well who he is. he just needs help realising that that doesn't make him a 'mistake'.

Mike, on the other hand, is, in my opinion, pretty fucking clueless. confused, too. i feel like he'd definitely benefit more from some gay mentoring, in order for him to navigate his feelings a little better. because i just don't think he has any idea.. he has always been the 'oblivious' one.

to be honest, i'd be even happier if Robin somehow mentored both. and in no way am i implying this would take over her entire plot for season 5, as i know people get pretty mad about that !!

anyways just a thought let me know what you guys think!!
