Pairing: Fergus Fraser x Reader
She rolled her eyes as she got tugged away by the man of the hour, a smile on her face.
“Fergus!” She whisper-yelled. “Where are we going?”
Fergus stopped leading her for a moment, grinning as he stared at his love.
It was almost like Romeo & Juliet. Except without the opposing families but death was quite common in their lives. Quite romantic, really. The story of Fergus & Y/n had a good ring to it, anyway.
They weren’t hiding their relationship. God, no. They just found the whole ordeal...thrilling. Sneaking away into the woods, pecking each other’s lips as they brushed passed on another, the small glances from across the room…
They just didn’t have the time or career status to have an open, stable relationship without somebody deciding to use it against them.
But there they were. Just on the border of the woods from Fraser’s Ridge, the Frasers and added MacKenzies decision for a get-together was quite booming. Surely with the racket going on in there, nobody would notice Fergus and Y/n’s absence.
And here he was. Just staring at her, hand clasped in her smaller one. He smiled, fondly. She was his. He was hers.
“But do we ever get caught?”
She shook her head before walking passed him, tugging him with her this time. Behind a tree, they looked around to make sure nobody noticed them before she got pressed up against it, being kissed by his sweet lips.
She could have sworn she was in heaven, with the way he kissed her. She was so happy. He was so happy.
He knew from the beginning, this is who he wanted to marry. The moment he laid his blue eyes on her all those years ago.
They kissed. Again and again. Hands roaming. They were too focused on one another to hear the twig snap, or the short walk of footsteps that made their way toward them. Or away. Like I said, they didn’t notice.
Fergus let out a groan as she pushed him away, but he quickly hid his head in her neck, stilling. They stood like that for a while. But they had to get back soon, before anybody noticed they were gone.
“We have to go back.” She told him, resting her head on his.
“I know.” He muffled. “Don’t want to though.”
She giggled and grabbed his hand(s). Admiring his faux one and playing with his real ones fingers, fondly.
“Me either.” She stared back up at him. “Let’s go.”
And they went. Walking back into the cabin, noticing everyone had began to prepare the table for dinner.
Y/n gave her love one last look before waltzing up to Claire to assist her with whatever she needed.
The table set, everyone sat, the dinner was going smoothly.
Fergus and Y/n snuck glances at each other from their spots, one always catching the other in the act.
“The food is delicious, Claire!” Y/n beamed. “I’d love for you to teach me the recipe sometime!”
“Ah, I will! It’s really simple, I’ll teach you soon!”
And the whole dinner was beautiful. Bree and Y/n were talking about the normal stuff. Jem, time, Art…even Claire joined in for a part.
Y/n began looking around, eyebrow twitching upward.
“Everything alright, Y/n/n?”
“Oh yes, I just-“ she paused in confusion. “I swore I had a napkin.”
Jamie nodded toward Fergus, noticing he had one, “Fergus, why don’t you let your lass borrow your napkin?”
The couples eyes widened, Fergus choking on his drink.
Bree cocked her head to the side, “your lass?” She turned toward you. “What does he mean?”
“Don’t try to cover it up, I saw you two in the woods earlier.”
Fergus blushed at the thought. Embarrassed was an understatement. He looked at Y/n and saw she was laughing and she pointed at him,
“I told you I heard a twig snap!”
He rolled his eyes and gazed at her, “aye, you did.”
And the table burst into cheers. Asking them question upon question. Certainly the talk of the night.
It was like slow motion. The smiles upon the happy couples face, as they sang and told their story on how they came to be. They had each other.
Fergus Claudel Fraser was in love Y/n L/n.
