You have the kind of penis autism that causes delusions. You see women where there are no women. Get help.

alright so you’re most likely a radfem who’s mad at me because i said to stop pretending like you’re the victim when a trans woman gets mad at you for attacking them. but holy shit this ask is baffling. penis autism. huh.

Oh my goodness this is getting a lot of notes! Since I see posts on tumblr about how a lot of people seem to think all historians and archaeologists are crusty old bigots I’d just like to add that this guy is an archaeologist. A very vocally anti-racist archaeologist who goes out of his way to be as inclusive as possible to queer people.

Reblogging to watch later!

Always get your historical facts from anti-racist archeologists.

Wait, how’d the run go!?

Oh gosh I forgot to update on that! It went well, he was sore and tired but no injuries, and he raised over 1700 pounds!

Not to completely derail this post, but I’d also like to recommend Miniminuteman to anyone interested in history and archeology from a non bigoted source. He’s absolutely fantastic, his tiktok is essentially him just debunking bs conspiracy videos and he recently started making a youtube series called Awful Archaeology and there are only three episodes so far but they own my entire heart, it’s great.

Also Bernadette Banner, who is a edwardian/victorian fashion historian who does everything from reconstruction work, educational videos and debunking historical fashion myths, to more fun stuff like rating historical drama costumes or recreating Wheel of Time outfits.

And these are just the two I’m most familiar with right now, there are SO many great historians and archeologists and anthropologists out there who have a passion for their field and want to share that knowledge while ALSO being great, humble people who stand up against bigotry, racism, and all the historical lies that come with. I’m falling deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole of historical content every week, and I’m loving every minute of it.

This post got me to watch Jimmy’s channel, and I ADORE it AND him, and I’m very thankful.

I also want to recommend Tasting History with Max Miller, who is a food historian and excellent at pointing out when things in the past were racist or classist. He even had a recent Da Vinci video talking about checking sources and the importance of acknowledging when you get information wrong.

Also the Townsends, are reenactors that talk about food and culture and lifestyle of the 16-1700s of the colonial USA. They make a point of bringing in women and people of color regularly to talk about what those days were like for more than just white guys!

Someone in the notes might have added her but also check out NotYourMommasHistory aka Cheyney McKnight. She’s a Black reenactor who has made a few videos on what a day was like in the lives of enslaved people or free black people, as well as historical racism in general. She also has a website where you can book her for a lecture!

reblogging this 4 l8r bc its midnight but i am so hype to check out all these channels in the am

Image of a text that reads: In conversation with some coworkers, today, one of them said that homeless people should have to work for their meals just like the rest of us.

I said, "Okay, I know a man who is homeless. He'd be happy to work. He's got a business degree. He would be happy to come clean your house, do your yard work, or help you with your filing, walk your dogs, babysit your kids, or just about any office job. What time tomorrow should he come see you?"

They all just looked at me.

I said, "Mind you, he's homeless, so he hasn't showered in a while and the only clothes he has are the ones on his back because he lost all his stuff last week when ge got picked up for vagrancy and they wouldn't let him go back for his bag. It would be a few weeks before what you are paying him is enough to get shelter and such."

And still they stared at me.

I finished, "See? It isn't that easy. He can't get a job because he's homeless with no access to hot water or clean clothes. He can't get access to shelter, hot water or clean clothes without a job. You want him to work for his meals? Give him a hand out of the vicious circle. Stop pretending that all he has to do is get a job."

Unhoused people are not intruders into our communities, they are our communities’ failure to take care of their own.

You have to recognize your capacity for harm. You cannot omit the harm you've done to others to remain "good." Anybody can be a bigot. Anyone can be an abuser. Anyone can harm anyone at any time even those who have been harmed themselves. The world is not made up of victims and villains only, this is life, not a Saturday morning cartoon and you are a human being who can or maybe even has hurt others and you HAVE to acknowledge that to learn to be better.

I'm gonna link to the animations in case y'all either don't remember or have never heard of some of these.

A quick note: these were made in the 2000s. Comedy is subjective, there's some strong examples of dark and/or "lolz teh random" humor in these. Maybe some cultural blindness, too. That said, enjoy a time capsule of stuff made before/during the birth of Youtube, now hosted on Youtube.

I think I quote the End of Ze World one and the Charlie the Unicorn ones about the same, especially since my dog is named Charlee, but I voted for End of Ze World cause I enjoy it more and quote many other lines from it much more often than Charlie the Unicorn

I dislike how clumsy it is to share Twitter threads but here is a portion from a guy I follow (for his trans porn and monster fucking content at that) echoing a sentiment that aces, traumatized people, people with low libido, etc. can fully relate to. The rest is here and it’s absolutely worth the read.

“Sex isn’t special”

Thank you! I’ve always been fascinated by how sexuality is viewed in such a dramatic, over-criticized way when it’s just another one of those things we do in life, no different from eating, sleeping or playing.

This is also why sex workers don’t appreciate being pathologized for having sex for no other reason than ‘hell yeah money’ or ‘sure, beats an office job’.

( @johannestevans is on Tumblr as well btw!)

Loved logging in to my ff14 acc and return to the waking sands continue my adventure of fun and whimsy, only to find concerned villagers that weren't standing outside the door before, and heading inside to find. bodies.

"what happened to my fun whimsical adventure," i whine, pathetically, as i take shelter from the rain in a church to the god of death

This is a fun game xD

England 2022 (2) (3) by badnewf

Via Flickr:

(1) After completing the walk of more than 7 wet miles to Bolton Abbey and back north, the rain finally stopped, the sun peeked over the dales, and a mist seemed to follow us. The River Wharfe is in Yorkshire, England, and originates within the Yorkshire Dales National Park. For much of its middle course, it is the county boundary between West and North Yorkshire. Its valley is known as Wharfedale. (I'm told that the Wharfe is also one of the best rivers in the UK for swimming.) (2) Flora and fauna along the Dales Way trail astounds. The footpath, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, tracks both sides of the River Wharfe, north of Bolton Abbey. (3) This beautiful turreted bridge crosses the River Wharfe north of the Strid and doubles as an aqueduct. The clever castellations hide the pipe that carries water from the reservoirs at the top of Nidderdale to the cities of West Yorkshire.

“But the people affected by these issues can’t just turn them off! Why should you get to decide you’re not going to look at that stuff while on the internet?”

Because I can’t take on the world. If I try to focus on every single issue out there, then I’m going to burn out and not have anything to offer.

The amount of asks I get telling me I have an obligation to use my platform to share info about so many issues is a lot.

I pick a couple things I’m passionate about to focus on because then I can give these things 100% of my focus. It doesn’t mean I don’t care about other things. It means I don’t have the mental capacity to take on everything.

For me, these things are what my blogs are about.

So, a reminder to all of you. It’s okay if you can’t take on the world. Please don’t burn yourself out by trying to take on everything. It’s okay to disconnect. Just because some can’t doesn’t mean you aren’t allowed to take care of your mental health.
