Criminal minds Drunk Character Headcannons
((As told by someone who has never been drunk))
Spencer Reid: I’d like to think that drunk spencer would be the life of the party but he would need to be completely plastered. He’d be up and dancing around with his gangly arms up in the air. Sure he would still be awkward and spout out weird facts that nobody really cares about, but he’d do it with the utmost confidence. Some drunken (and sober) people who flirt with him would just get a slurred and oblivious conversation with him.
Penelope Garcia: She’d probably be the same drunk as she is sober but just a bit more existential. She’d go run and compliment anything she thought was cute whether it be a person or a mannequin in the window of a store. As the night goes on, she’d start asking the real questions. “If dolphins give each other names, would they be like Mark or Alexander or would they all each other things like eeeeeEEEEEHHhh?”
Emily Prentiss: She turns into a dad joke when she drinks. She’ll talk to anyone who just looks at her about whatever is on her mind. “Yesterday my cat pooped beside the litter box and i was just like, ‘cats, man. Cats.’” She makes the worst jokes but that’s okay because they’re so bad people laugh anyway.
Rossi and Morgan (because i feel like they’d kind of be the same): They’re kind of pro drinkers so it would take a lot to have a huge effect on them. When they are drunk, they become a more intense version of themselves. Flirting with them ladies (unless it’s the time period where morgan is a taken man) and doing weird dancing, especially if it’s Rossi because he’s got dem old bones. He’ll probably break a hip before the night’s over.

It has been about a month now since I joined the team. I’ve been working hard, the days are always long but frankly, I don’t mind spending most of my time in the building. Not as long as I can see Benny. We’ve spent most of our lunch breaks together, sometimes just the two of us, sometimes with the rest of the team. Every glance he throws in my way makes my heart flutter and my stomach contract. I can feel my pulse rise, my palms start to get sweaty and I can feel my cheeks start to blush. I wonder if he notices. I wonder if he sees that I am always looking forward to knowing more about him, to hear him talk, to see him smile, to hear his voice. I am always looking forward to his presence. As soon as I hear his voice, my body relaxes. It’s like a natural reflex – I can’t help it, I can’t do anything about it. This longing for him is starting to drive me crazy. As soon as he walks into the room I forget everything else that was on my mind, he is all that exists for me. It has caused me to be in some awkward situations – for example when I forgot to take my keys from my desk because he walked into my office to say goodbye one night, and I had to return to TAC at 9 pm to collect them.
The team was having lunch, but I was still working on my laptop. We were working on a new case, but things weren’t looking bright at all. It would be hard to convince the jury that our defendant is innocent, and Bull is expecting us to work hard – as always. I had been going through the files during the entire day, just to find one thing that could help us out, or, better put, help Benny out. I was deeply focussed when I heard a knock on the glass door.

Mycroft’s Machinations
So I decided to have a look at what exactly Mycroft Holmes has been up to from series 1 to 4, especially with regard to his brother, sister, and Jim Moriarty. My chronology is based on dates given in the show and on the blog.
- before the start of ASiP: Mycroft knows Eurus was involved in the disappearance of his brother’s friend and burned down the family home. He supports her banishment and goes on to feign her death after a fire she set herself and lets his parents believe their daughter is dead. He uses her intellectual skills for his own professional purposes and rewards her with a violin and, later on, a visit from Jim Moriarty. He uses trigger words like “East Wind” and “Redbeard” to check his brother’s mental state and the extent of his amnesia.
- Christmas 2010: Mycroft allows Eurus five minutes of unsupervised conversation with Moriarty in exchange for her services. ➡️ Mycroft allows the meeting although Moriarty has already started his campaign against Sherlock. Moriarty asks: “So am I under arrest again?”
- 1st half of 2011: Mycroft tracks down Moriarty a third time, has him arrested and tortured. He hands over private information about Sherlock and releases Moriarty who goes on to destroy Sherlock. The information is published by Kitty Riley and used against Sherlock. ➡️ Mycroft lets Moriarty go free a third time although he knows that Jim wants to destroy his brother.
- June 2011: The Lazarus plan is implemented with Mycroft’s help. Sherlock goes undercover for two years.
- May to November 2013: Mary Morstan, a former agent and assassin known to Mycroft, starts a relationship with John Watson who is observed by Mycroft. ➡️ Mycroft knowingly allows this woman into John’s and thereby Sherlock’s life.
- November 2013 to May 2014: Mycroft allows the relationship of John and Mary to continue resulting in marriage. Since Sherlock and John are reconciled, Mycroft accepts that a former A.G.R.A. who is believed to be dead is now friends with his brother.
- June 2014: Mycroft protects Charles Augustus Magnussen who at the same time is subjected to an investigation by the British government. ➡️ Mycroft protects Magnussen while his own government is investigating him. Magnussen’s threats result in Lady Smallwood contacting Sherlock and his subsequent near-fatal injury.
- June 2014 to December 2014: Mycroft does not react in any way to his brother being shot by Mary Watson. He accepts her presence at his parents’ house for Christmas and tells Sherlock “Your loss would break my heart” while the woman who shot his brother is sitting next door, drinking tea.
- December 2014: Mycroft advises Lady Smallwood to send Sherlock on a suicide mission to Eastern Europe, mentioning “the other one”. ➡️ Sir Edwin and Lady Smallwood (maybe also other members of the government) know about the dangerous Holmes sister while Sherlock still has no idea.
- January 2015: In the first modern plane scene Mycroft and Mary seem to cooperate. In Sherlock’s MP they are working closely together. ➡️ Mycroft does not refrain from cooperating with the woman who almost killed his brother.
- Early 2015: Mycroft has been working together with AGRA but never told Sherlock about Mary’s connection to the group. He also is in contact with Sherrinford where Eurus is kept.
- Summer (?) 2015: During TLD Mycroft does not try to help his brother who is up to the gills in drugs and has the flat searched only after Sherlock has been hospitalised. He is still in contact with Sherrinford without realising that Eurus has taken over the facility and is able to roam free all over the country. Lady Smallwood is clearly informed about Eurus. ➡️ What happened to “your loss would break my heart” and “Did you make a list?”
- Later in 2015: Mycroft still keeps Sherlock in the dark about Victor and how he died. He lets Sherlock confront Eurus without telling him the truth and preparing him for the story of Victor’s death.
I know how much many people love the flashback in TAB and “Your loss would break my heart” but on the whole I think this is quite damning. I’ll leave you to your deductions.

Summary:
It had been a long three weeks since the passing of Stephen Walker. Everyone was dealing with it in their own ways. Emily hung out at shooting range more than she normally did, anything to keep her mind off of Stephen. Rossi drank more in the evenings to erase the memories of the car accident. Spencer secretly blamed himself even though the team would tell him that it wasn’t his fault. They were going after Scratch to take him down. Spencer couldn’t stop thinking about if his mother wasn’t in trouble or his life was being threatened through a text message than the team wouldn’t have gone after Scratch and Stephen would still be alive… JJ kept thinking about Stephen giving her the front seat and he took the backseat. It was like he knew what was going to happen so he risked his life for her. She would scold herself for not arguing with Stephen over who would sit in the backseat. If she sat in the backseat than they would have lost Stephen. He would still be here. But when she would tell Will that, he would scold her too and tell her that if she were in the backseat than she, herself would be dead leaving her two, young boys behind without a mother to care for them. Penelope was suffering from an aching heart. He was alone and dying in the SUV while the rest of the team suffered from injuries. She hurt because he was alone, he had no one next to him.
