you took a deep breath, fingers looped loosely with haechan’s as the two of you walked into the house together. there were a decent amount of people you could recognize amongst the attendees so you dropped haechan’s hand and walked over to your friend yeji. you tried your best to ignore the hurt that blossomed in your chest when haechan didn’t try to keep you by his side.

someone handed you a drink, probably one of yeji’s friends, which you downed quickly before joining in the conversation.

“y/n, how are you?” lia asked, moving next to you.

“i’ve been better. did you get that promotion?” you couldn’t tell lia you didn’t want to be at her party, she’d been excited about you coming for three weeks now.

you knew lia was going on about her job and if it were any other day you’d be listening intently but right now your eyes trailed over to haechan. he was across the room sitting in a large armchair that had people sitting on the arms as well but you didn’t really see them, not when haechan had his legs spread and a small smirk on his face while he listened to someone tell a joke.

you couldn’t believe haechan was mad at you now of all times. why did he have to look so good when he’s angry at you?

“y/n?” lia waves her hand in front of your face.

“sorry. yeah?”

“if you wanna be with him so badly why don’t you go over there?” she wonders aloud to you, head tilting ever so slightly.

“he’s upset with me right now so i don’t think that’d go as well as i wish it would.”

“so why don’t you drag him away somewhere and make him not upset at you?”

your head snapped over to lia, eyes wide as you realized what she was saying. her smug smile makes you roll your eyes at her but sure enough, ten minutes later you listen to her and drag haechan away from everyone.

you fully expected him to use his strength to stop you from pulling him up the stairs of the house and into some room that wasn’t completely clean yet he didn’t, he just followed you lazily.

when you turn back to him from closing the door to see him spread across the unknown bed you realize why. haechan is drunk.

“you’re already drunk? we haven’t even been here an hour...”

haechan lifts his head to glare at you, “are you judging me?” you just shake your head at him when he continues. “besides, i’m not drunk i’m just kinda tipsy.”

silence looms over the room, the only noises heard are the loud music from downstairs and partygoers yelling every few minutes. neither of you know what to say, how to bring the issue up. you wish haechan wasn’t as stubborn as he is so that this would be easier, but he isn’t so it’s a bit rough to deal with.

“i’m not saying i was in the wrong, but i am sorry for what you saw out of context.” you finally speak up, voice strong but not loud.

“what i saw out of context?!?” haechan repeats, finally sitting up completely. “how is you kissing another man out of context?”

“well, i wasn’t kissing him first of all.” your eyes roll at how dramatic your boyfriend is. “i was hugging him and giving him a kiss on the cheek like i do with all of my friends. you’ve seen me do it multiple times before?”

“it looked like a lot more than a kiss on the cheek from where i was...” haechan trailed off with a pout on his lips. you really wanted to kiss him right now.

“key word, looked. i would never cheat on you babe, you should know this. what does anyone have that my lovely lee haechan doesn’t?” you had moved closer to haechan on the bed as you spoke, eventually stopping in between his, once again, spread legs. “you’ve got it all. i’d be dumb to even look at another person while being involved with you.”

you run your hands through his already messy hair, stopping at his nape and tilting his head so he’s looking at you.

“you would be dumb if you did that...” haechan grumbles up to you, eyes softening when he sees how hurt you look. “i’m sorry i thought you were cheating. also, i love you.”
