68 for the fanfic asks~
68. Are there any fics that influenced you to write the way you do?
first off i have to mention The Emperor and the Goddess by Captain_Flash as the key reason anyone in EAL had any decent characterization at all, because he understands edelgard and every single other character in fe3h better than the entire rest of the fire emblem fandom put together
second i have to talk about Shinji Ikari and the Methods of Bioterrorism by noetherSA, which was a massive inspiration for the human abstract. sadly it's on hiatus, like my trans shinji fic (maybe someday they'll both come back)
and last but not least i have to shout out my friend @radiocabel's original fic Black Hornet because there is a fantastic chapter they wrote in which the protagonist loses her arm and has to convalesce and adjust to having a prosthetic and it is so honestly written that i go back and reference it every time i have a character lose an arm, like hubert/heidrun in EAL or hibiki in aria
outside of ao3 my writing style is pretty heavily inspired by stephen king, which should be obvious given how all my fics turn into fucking doorstoppers
