You may find that Snape being a child singer is romantic but a bit contradictory with his upbringings and social status. Yet not so long ago children got payed for singing in church. I know for sure that they are still payed today when they sing and perform in theatre and in professional choirs, I myself got a small percentage as a white voice. My headcanon is that Snape was a child worker, doing after school small jobs, and this was one of the things that he could have possibly do. And I fancy that it was an occasion to escape from his parent’s house and enjoying music.
